Open up your restaurant, and put it on so you can see the inside, then just run it in the background while you do other stuff. Also helps if you have higher level dishes.

leave it on when u goin out for dinner.. and like when u are goin out for play, but u must leave your restuarnt screen active. u must feed it in 1-3 hours.. thats how time needed in this.. :P

another advice, u only need ONE dish per category, you have like 3-4 dishes per category, the cusomters can only order 1 type anyway.. i suggest u max the level of your current dish first
