@Eluzara I think that's missing the point just a bit. Dr. Cox had abusive parents as well. I think Elliot's strength comes from her persistance. She might have had setbacks and relationship issues, but she passed up J.D. in technical expertiece and was able to teach in later episodes how to handle multiple crash patients. The fact that she got in Dr. Cox's head was the thing...at least that's what I think.
