  • congrats

  • aaah yes, I have not been a "control op" in a long time - no one to elmer lately. My first HF contact was with my friend Gene (SK) on 20m using his Drake TR3. I checked into the AC Net back in 1990.

  • hard to make small talk isn't it....just stick to contesting :)

  • That's cool, my first contact was in CW... I talked to Art to, but this Art was WA1GOV.

  • wat?

  • Ah, the thrill of first contact. I was on 2 meters for so long that my first HF contact was just as nerve racking as my first ham radio contact,. Glad to hear new people try this out.

BTW: You're not that far away, come on down to the Vintage Radio and Communications Museum of Connecticut and drop and I'll take you around W1VCM.

73, and good luck in Anzhelika's studies. I hope she does pursue getting her license.

  • Surely the cutiest amateur radio in the world!!!!!!!

  • Yeah man we need more hot woman on the airways! I don't care if they have a license or not!

To many grumpy old farts about these days.

  • Cool on 1st contact! But ouch on that noise on the receiver , someone needs to call the electric company. I like the statement "Radio Thingy"

  • "Must be your dad"LOL!!

  • Wow! She needs to talk like a women and lose that child like voice!

  • @Aonexia but that was the good bit ...

  • Hey you'r cute! give me a call on the 147.435 repeater on echolink or use the main imput on 146.400 pl 103.5 . We can definantley have a qso. provided that the nigger kc6qbp is not stepping on every body.BE FORWARNED WE ARE NOT YOUR NORMAL HAM RADIO OPERATORS! BTW my call is ki6gvx. like we say if you herd it on 435 it must be ture!

  • training is badly lacking here......

  • @A5593GM4DHJ "training is badly lacking here..." Maybe so, but there are scads of people in the ham community who very likely started out like Anzhelika, nervous and unsure of themselves. It's no crime to be shy. Cut the lady a little slack, ok? 73's to one and all! :-)

  • @UniteIreland07 naw wummin shouldn't be hams speshly daughters and wifes......

  • @A5593GM4DHJ I hope, for your sake, you're just being facetious when you say that. My point was that the world of ham radio can be a little more difficult to get accustomed to for some people than it is for others. One has to crawl before he (or she) can learn to walk, you know.

  • @UniteIreland07 the hobby is trashed letting people with a passing interest on the bands without serving years as a SWL ........this is what you get

  • @A5593GM4DHJ I was an SWL for 8 years (1987-'94) and once aspired to become a ham myself, but I ultimately decided against it for 2 main reasons- because I felt I didn't have the technical knowledge needed to qualify, even for a Novice ticket, and then, too, I'm not all that much of a socializer. Even so, I don't really get why being an established monitor should be prerequisite for acceptance as a ham operator. I think the real problem here is one of excessive cliquishness in the hobby.

  • @UniteIreland07 wait a minute...she doesn't have a Licence..so what are we arguing about? ....nice boots.

  • @A5593GM4DHJ .and your point is????????????????

  • @TheZeke1974 those I have made .....

  • why do you and where do you get your license for ham radio, and I am beginner what would be good equipment to start I just want to reach into mid west states from Delaware up to AZ ,colorado. So could you help

  • Can my friend trying to... my wife trier to I will be okay?

  • Sorry if I have this question but I thought you have to have your license at to talk on radio

  • @francescortf if you don't have a license and you want to talk on the radio the license holder has to be there with you.

  • Well done Anzhelika,we all have to make the first qso.I can see that you were very nervous which is very much as I was on my first contact. But you made it and got your message across ok.

It sounds like your father is helping you along very well to get into our wonderful hobby.

I look foreward to hooking up with you on the air very soon.

Good luck and meet many hams around the world. 88 ..de G6PHH Phil

  • Well done hope you get your licence. We need some young operators to keep the hobby alive.

  • Very cute. Hope she gets her licence.

  • Good stuff :)

  • Great JOB!! He's your father? LOL OMG... very funny... you did great

  • Great Video

  • Sweet. And well done. I can still remember my first QSO. That was in CW (I was 16 years old that time) and was very, very exciting. And I was very nervous of course. Made that first QSO at a local Dutch clubstation PI4LD and was with UA4.. on 20m. Forgot the suffix, but UA4 is 100% sure.

Now I'm an old OM (45yrs). 99.99% of QSO's are in CW still.

73, GD luck with the hobby!

    ON9CPA

  • LOL, I love how she breaks in to correct him.

I like how you have your rig mounted on a relay rack, you can easily expand or rearrange.

  • Let her know I said she did great !!! It's not always easy starting out, when your not sure what to say back on the QSO... Hopefully she likes it enough to try and stick with it...

  • So how goes the progress on her license? What microphone are you using there? Heil? 73.....

  • Friendship 00923009062300 pakistan cool boye net youtube zeeshan23000

  • hehehe that's funny. KA1 Tango Delta Queen.. hehe..

  • Practice Practice and and you will get there in the end

my wife has no interest in radio what so ever.

Good luck in getting your licence

i am a UK foundation licence holder the foundation being

the first of a 3 stage licence system hear in the uk.

i am able to operate on all the HF band 6m 2m70cm.

10w may not sound a lot but i can get into the usa isreal kuwait ect

    Good Luck

  • She's fearless! I remember my first SSB contact went something like that, that's why I stick to CW :) Thanks for posting, good luck on the ticket!

  • Too cute :) My wife has her tech ticket but I think I've gotten her on the air a whole two times, lol. ...though she does show interest in PSK31 so I might get her to upgrade :> de W5NIG

  • That was awesome! May I ask where you and Anzhelika met? Her accent is very familiar to my girlfriend's accent who is from Germany, but she was born in Eastern Europe..

  • I can totally imagine me being just as clumsy when I get my license and start going on the air. :-) Great vid!
