...My dad left when i was 4, and i never saw him again. It had been four crazy years filled with family abuse, but somehow i'd still miss him. Growing up this song helped a lot, i could imagine a different story line, one where my dad would say these words to me, and every time i missed him these lyrics would soothe my soul. .
