@avrilrockz5 you shouldnt blame Jaycee for missing for so long. this guy threatened her and later her children if they escaped. especially since after spending a year in that shed, she later grew attached to her abductor since he provided her with food and shelter. you should never blame abducted children.
@avrilrockz5 I hope you get the chance to experience this someday and he how well you do. And then people can make fucked up comments like this one about you.
@avrilrockz5 Would you know what to do if you were kidnapped at 11 & being told he'll kill you & you believe him because your so young you dont know kidnappers say whatever to protect themselves. Brainwashed, Raped, kept in a little sound proof storage in the backyard all by yourself, handcuffed? handcuffed to a bed and raped repeatedly! Not knowing what is going on because you were kidnapped so young you didnt know what rape meant yet. and you blame this poor girl? You've got to be kidding me.
The police and parole officers who couldn't find Jaycee even though she was right under their noses deserve humiliation and degradation. I now have more respect for campus police thanks to the young officers who solved this case. Sadly, it could have and should be solved many years before. I guess the fat lazy slackers who pretend to be law enforcement were too busy harassing innocent minorities and teenagers between free coffees and doughnuts.
Im so happy the Mother gets to see her little girl again (Even though she is grown up, she is still her little girl), and as for the Guerrado Scums i think they are the Most Selfish Ignorant Nasty pieces of Scum to ever waste our Oxygen/Air and i'm sure anyone who be happy to spend the Extra Tax money and keep them in jail for EVER!! No more Control Guerddo hold on to the soap
wow thats sad. i am so happy that she is found alive. wow.. & she became missing when i was born... thats weird.. but i am so happy that she is back with her family now! that just shows that anything is possible & not to give up on anything.
if anyone is intrested, there will be CURRENT home videos of jaycee, her mom, and sister on abc this friday, starting on good morning america, then 20.20 and nightline
Wow, Doug, this is a powerful video. It must have been an amazing feeling for you when you heard that Jaycee had been found. Watching this brought tears to my eyes. Great job!
its nobodys fualt except the kidnappers! ok! nobody did anything wrong besides them...i mean for my kid i honestly would bring my kid to work, but think about it....if u were in a case of jaceys, you would probably run right? i guess she was just so shocked or something and she was really little...but since these were expeirianced kidnappers, they knew how to grab her and get her in...i feel so bad for her D:
i'm sure she was in shock, and afraid to run. They held onto her long enough until she felt comfortable with them. By then she had established some sorta bond with them. I'm sure at that time she was thinking how they could've hurt her, but didn't, and felt grateful for them. Maybe she didn't like home, and like being with them more. Who knows.
@kittkatt032 easy for you to say. I'm sure I would have done that. But given in her case and in many other cases like this, it was the element of surprise that got them, plus those perverts psychologically fucked them up.
Well, she had the chance to run. Way long after she was kidnapped. Even jaycee said that she felt close to her napper and couldn't understand why. She felt bad for not running when she had many chances. That's just crazy. So why didn't she run?!
Thanks for the video, dbroom60. It's uplifting to know this beautiful family's ordeal is now over. May God's blessings shine on them from here on out.
I'm glad she was found, by my God, was her step-father dumb as dirt. He couldn't go inside to get his car keys?! He decided to give "chase" while riding a damn bike?!
the whole story sounds weird. how is it possible that after 18 years she couldn't escape from Grido's back yard? or at least attack this bastard! i'm very happy this case is over and i wish Garido will spend the end off his miserable life in jail! Jaycee lee, i wish you all the best, from Israel!
Think about it. At the beginning she could've been traumatized by the fact that she was kidnapped... and not long later pregnancy, then she had her babies. How will she escape? by the time her kids grew... her kids gotten used to philip garrido. She probably thinking about the safety of her children if she does try and escape.
I don't know, maybe he had threatened to kill her or her daughters. Or perhaps she felt close to him, however sick that may sound, she has been with him for most of her life. No matter what he has done to her, she may still have regarded him as family after a while. He could have told her anything, and she might have believed it.
it is pretty much established from the charges that he was threatning people she loved the first 3 and a half years he had her captive (most likely her mom and sister) to keep her from resisting. after she had her first baby, it's likely he trasnfererred the threats to them
@Jeff98177 i know, how do those girls feel? i mean they were only born because of the crime yet they are just as much victims. that terrible man IS their dad. everyone is so careful not to blame them and stuff but they are going to have such awful self esteem issues, if they don't already....even worse than their mother.
I could never go that long without my parents that is just so sad

great oomments here. it's the step dads fault........its jaycees fault for not running.
its idiocy like this that lets scumbag rapists like garriodo back on the street to find new victims again

fact of the matter is he never let her and her daughters out together. she could escape alone but she'd be leaving them with him.
but please, do continue to blame the victim. its lousy attitudes like that, which lets pieces of garbage like garrido out to terrorize more victims

I really hope all those who made accusaations against the Step-Father give him apologies and restore to him all they stole.
Very sad situation but all can be restored.
