@avrilrockz5 you shouldnt blame Jaycee for missing for so long. this guy threatened her and later her children if they escaped. especially since after spending a year in that shed, she later grew attached to her abductor since he provided her with food and shelter. you should never blame abducted children.

The police and parole officers who couldn't find Jaycee even though she was right under their noses deserve humiliation and degradation. I now have more respect for campus police thanks to the young officers who solved this case. Sadly, it could have and should be solved many years before. I guess the fat lazy slackers who pretend to be law enforcement were too busy harassing innocent minorities and teenagers between free coffees and doughnuts.

i'm sure she was in shock, and afraid to run. They held onto her long enough until she felt comfortable with them. By then she had established some sorta bond with them. I'm sure at that time she was thinking how they could've hurt her, but didn't, and felt grateful for them. Maybe she didn't like home, and like being with them more. Who knows.

Well, she had the chance to run. Way long after she was kidnapped. Even jaycee said that she felt close to her napper and couldn't understand why. She felt bad for not running when she had many chances. That's just crazy. So why didn't she run?!

Think about it. At the beginning she could've been traumatized by the fact that she was kidnapped... and not long later pregnancy, then she had her babies. How will she escape? by the time her kids grew... her kids gotten used to philip garrido. She probably thinking about the safety of her children if she does try and escape.

I don't know, maybe he had threatened to kill her or her daughters. Or perhaps she felt close to him, however sick that may sound, she has been with him for most of her life. No matter what he has done to her, she may still have regarded him as family after a while. He could have told her anything, and she might have believed it.

it is pretty much established from the charges that he was threatning people she loved the first 3 and a half years he had her captive (most likely her mom and sister) to keep her from resisting. after she had her first baby, it's likely he trasnfererred the threats to them
