I guess you must be talking about the American or Canadian MTV version of Skins? Cause the British one is anything but pointless and probably a thousand times better partly due to them not having to worry as much about censorship over there. The first season of the original is well worth checking out if you can get your hands on it or download it from Netflix or someplace online.
