I had no idea that LL Cool J sampled lady in my life lady in my life is my favorite michael jackson song i love all of his songs but lady in my life is in the top 5 :D
this is how much influence Michael had on the music...everyone and they grandma use his sample...i notice alot of hit makin music with single that put out music with beat of a fimiliar sound so we can be trance into some ear friendly, reminisce, type music...and IT WORKS!
I got the 1st one wrong with Fabolous wrong, which is sad because "I Can't Help It' is one of my favorite MJ songs. Otherwise then that I knew the rest. GREAT and fun post.
whats the other sample to that song called "lady in my life" theres "hey lova" by ll cool j and theres this other song wit a slowed down voice or somthin like that wit the same instrumental
Alotta people use to ask me why i like Michael Jackson so much. And i'd reply, "because Michael can't be replicated nor duplicated, and he has contributed a lot to hip hop, which so happens to be my favorite music genre. Then they'd laugh at my response.
So many Hip Hop artists sample his music. He's changed rap, maybe not the hip hop culture, but he's changed the music for the better. A true inspiration.
To all audiences.
Now that he's dead, people finnaly realize what i mean.
I think if someone samples a song...the artist who it is sampled from should get credit on the track listing...that would really screw Kanye West I bet...
I so agree with you. They really should starting putting the name of the person they sampled in credits. Because 95% of Hip-hop is sampled and I'd just love to know where the songs immediately came from right away. Half of these songs I was like "they sampled that?"
I don't call "sampling" being influenced by the King of Pop - I much prefer listening to the original of all these samples...one more reason why I find it hard to really get into rap music...
only a select few songs and artists do I actually enjoy in the rap world...hip hop it depends...there are a few more...but the music is so not original...
make up new melodies...and leave the integrity of MJ's tunes alone!
For example...PYT is WAY better than Kanye West's "song".
I know what you mean, but I think they use his music cuz they really appreciate his music and they're actually doing a good thing imo cuz they're introducing a new generation his great music.. Even if it's just a sample ,they're still doing it.. I kinda agree with you that they need 2 do new melodies, but a lot of artists are doing that at the moment.. I'm a big hip hip fan, and even the king of pop enjoyed some hip hop tunes like Hard knock life... LONG LIVE the king <3
biggie smalls also sampled "I want you back" to "one more chance".........I don't think MJ really knows how much people he touch in the music world....RIP MJ muahhhzzz.
Check out the "Man in the Mirror" mixtape by Rhymefest. It's all MJ samples and has a lot of great artists on it (i.e. Talib Kweli, Wale, Ghostface). Best tape of 2007 IMO.
that all abt the benjamins im pretty wasnt puff hu sampeled it im sure it was...702? one of those groups that was on a good burger soundtrack, somone correct me if im wrong lol
