  • We're learning this song at school now because my class will be the choir of a small Chess In Concert show. :D Amazing song.

  • The one and true Anatoly, the one and true Florence, and the one and true Molokov.

  • My favorite parts are the chorus part in the beginning and then the "Liar" part until the end <3 Goosebumps!

  • @VIVAxLAxVIExBOHEME

Goosebumps the size of the Himalayas! Gorgeous! Powerful! Truly amazing!

  • I bought the 45 of One Night In Bangkok when I was a teen. The flipside was Merano and it simply blew my mind enough to buy the whole concept album. It simply changed my life. The last two tracks at just over 20 minutes, is some of the most blissful music I've ever heard. I only wish Someone Else's Story was in the original concept album because Elaine Paige beats Judy Kuhn's ass.

  • I was able to see this musical in London, and it was incredible. It was one of the best plays I have ever been to. The entire soundtrack is fantastic.

  • OMG! they made a musical of chess??? WTF? crazy cool!

  • It makes me so sad that the Broadway production didn't come close to being as good...

  • groundbreaking for it's day.. and from a member of abba.. cause mamma mia was not my cup of tea

  • @alexloveattack Actually- it was created by 2 members from ABBA (both of the guys- Benny & Bjorn) as well as lyricist Tim Rice.

  • bobby fisher really was a great player especially for an american

  • You need to hear Peter Karrie perform this, he rocks it.

  • I am in awe!

  • So creepy but so epic!!

  • and can you believe I bought the complete LP-album, including the lyrics, as good as new, for 2€ (!!!!) at a market three years ago. Almost wanted to raise the bid... Tommy Körberg has a fantastic voice!

  • @mirielsbokblogg

    watch?v=BydBPiFzORk

Tommy Körberg & Sissel Kyrkjebø - Endgame

  • @Ander01SE thank you, it was a really nice clip :) I have never heard a version with Kyrkjebø, she really could handle her part!

  • @mirielsbokblogg

Glad you liked it, gems like this should be spread. ;)

  • I love the bit in the very end that starts with "is there no one in my life..."

one of the best musicals ever !!!

  • I'm fortunate to own the original"work in process" soundtrack.....

Saw the play...still love the original soundtrack....Play was good..don't get me

wrong.......GREAT WORK!!!! Weber couldn't do it better........

  • Chess is coming to Dublin :D :D :D :D :D So happy, I've been dying to see it ever since I heard Anthem for the first time!!! :)

  • I love ABBA

  • What happened to Pity the Child? It won't play and it's one of my faves from the first recording I ever heard of this.

  • just been to see this last week in Newcastle....absolutely stunning......best visual and vocal production ever.......what talent.......I'm speechless..........

  • Exquisite music!

Chess is a masterpiece. If it hadn't been written so shortly before the downfall of communism, it would still be much more popular. But better this way than the other!

  • The best part is from 06:41. When the choir sings the word "Enchanted" it gives me goosebumps!

  • my favourit is Chess anthem XDXDXD

  • "Nineteen seventy-two. BOBBY FISCHER!"

. . .that seems kind of out of place.

  • @blithium That part always cracks me up. It's definitely better whispered than SCREAMED. That being said, this is one of the most powerful pieces of music ever devoted to musical theatre.

  • @blithium It may have something to do with the fact that The American is loosely based off of Bobby Fisher...

  • @Steamrunner92 I was referring to the fact that the line seemed to have been belted of the lungs of a chorus of gospel singers. . .

  • 06:41 is the best part of this incredible piece of music!!! gives me goosebumps every time!!! :)

  • one of the best musicals I've seen

so sorry it was short lived

have original-soundtrack-in progress.can listen to it forever

  • This musical is everything I could hope it to be and more. The ending is spectacular and devastating, the perfect finish to such a complex, beautiful show.

  • Talvez um extracto do mais puro milagre musical dos ultimos anos...

A rememorar para toda a vida...

  • Andersson and Ulvaeus are genuises! Nothing can beat this! Chess wasn't well received but in terms of intellectual level and musical composition, as well as avant garde set design, it was groundbreaking. Boo to the critics that gave it such a bad review. Shows that the critic is so far removed from the listener. :(((

  • gorgeous!

  • Fantastic vocals from everyone in this. The way it builds at the end with the fabulous Barbara Dickson...

  • I love those sliding guitar riffs in sixths that start about 03:25, they make it sound really sinister.

  • i love how theyre singing the champions' names...so brilliant.

  • @gnilwob29 Agreed!! So, so chilling...

  • it's so amazing !

  • Enastående

  • one of the greatest moments in musical history... the last 1:50 or so IMHO

  • all of the above!

This is absolutely stunning - this is what musicals were made for!

  • Love it!

  • Beautiful!!!!

  • niiiice

  • God !!! This is soooooooooo much brilliant !!!

  • Brilliant
