@TechnoDevotee Wrong on both counts Bush secured from Congress, not a formal decleration of war, a consensus from Congress for his actions taken well BEFORE he did anything. Don't let the TV "talking heads" and airheaded "celebrities" try to tell you any different. BOTH Afghanistan & Iraq actions had PRIOR Congressional approval. NONE OF OBAMA's has. In fact recently by a 3 to 1 VOTE margin Congress denied to allow him to do the actions he has taken and is taking. That's Republicans & Democrats

I believe the "War Powers Act" given to the executive branch to be unconsitutitonal as well. That would have required changing the Constitution by amendment which they didn't do. Just because a law is passed doesn't mean that it is consitutional even if it has been in place for generations.

When you really look at it, Libya could declare war on us. We invaded their country. It does not matter that they are involved in an internal conflict; WE invaded them. We had no right. We had no authority, and the President should be impeached and removed from office. That I oppose Obama on general principals is irrelevant. The People need to send a message to any president who might want to act in such an unconstitutional way. We need to impose the Constitution on the government.

My questions is why didn't the military brass asked the President: Does this have congressional approval? and since it didn't, why didn't the military brass say, "Sorry Mr. President, we can't deploy to Libya until you get congressional approval?"

@Tamar1973 That's a great question. The problem is the Military brass are little more than diplomats and bureaucrats themselves. Basically once an officer reaches Flag level, (0-7 and above), it's more about answering Congressmen and Senators than dealing with the actual troops themselves. I know of a huge community of guys in Special Operations who think this is really just a waste of time and money.

If Bush had bombed Libya, the liberal media would be going nuts and calling for his impeachment. I cannot believe how silient they are on this matter.  What Obama did was clearly unconstitutional, but I don't think the idiot understood that it was unconstitutional.

I think Congress should take a vote on the matter. The problem that the Democrats have is that if they vote against it, they know Obama should be impeached.
