Sometimes soccer scores can be high. It depends on the teams. This was a great game. David Beckham is really making the sport popular. Thats why he was priced so high ... not so much for his football skills - they would have gone for ronaldinho but Beckham is marketable.

I was at the game. What an awesome performance from both sides. It was probably one of the best MLS games ever. David Beckham had a lot to do with all of it.

for those comparing: its generally agreed the MLS is about equivalent to league 1, although there is a spattering of decent players (Angel, Beckham etc).
Xavier was one of the worst defenders to play in the premiership, but the way Lalas talked about him youd have thought theyd just signed Cannavaro.
I do genuinely hope football becomes more popular in the US and more americans come to appreciate the beautiful game.

to be fair, you could say the same thing about performance enhancers in cycling (tour de france is rife with cheaters every year), track & field, etc. in fact, i think the problem is worse in those sports than baseball and american football (very few have failed tests while several big names do every year in cycling and track).

James was always gonna play the 2nd half, it wasnt cos Robinson messed up. Keepers make mistakes, better to do it in a friendly than a competitive game. Loads of the goals in this game should have been kept out, dunno how representative it is though.

Sometimes soccer scores can be high. It depends on the teams. This was a great game. David Beckham is really making the sport popular. Thats why he was priced so high ... not so much for his football skills - they would have gone for ronaldinho but Beckham is marketable.
