Bun thit nuong cha gio IS the most popular Vietnamese dish in US (among health conscious Caucasian). Others think it is too healthful to eat since it's not deep fired.
Two spring rolls (some call it RAW egg roll, LOL) as appetizer then a bowl of bun is the ultimate lunch for less than $10. Try it at Kim Tai on the NW corner of Fannin and McGowen in Houston. I always order it with grilled beef instead of pork. You'll love it.
@nguoivnxauxi Pho Yen in Friendswood is THE BEST Vietnamese food i have has in the Houston area, check it out sometime, it is at the corner of 518 and 528
remember when i was in High School (Marie Curie- 3 Tran Quoc Toan St, Hanoi), i used to take this for my lunch. but Bun Cha in thoz vid looks different form mine. wonder where they enjoyed this meal?
@lediep89 it was the same but the way they ate it was different , I usually eat those things in very small restaurent so that they would make it more simple.
I've been being here(UK) for 2 year and I miss this delicious food :(
I ate there, up the skinny staircase on the 3rd floor. One of the most famous places in Hanoi. Awesome food. Family run, for many generations. My Girlfriend's uncle ate there when he was very young. Bun Cha, Noodles with Grilled pork and 3 bottles of Bia hanoi. There's another place we ate at the night market, Cha Ca Hanoi. Fish nuggets fried in olive oil and Curry.
This dish totally rocks, one my faves. Thick cut smokey barbecued bacon, small pork burgers with a touch of burnt sugar (beyond caramelized and one of the very few dishes that uses it) all in a light sauce, and great fried spring rolls on the side. Bun noodles never tasted so good. Thanks for getting it out there.
exactly takadi, i'm tired of folks saying just because a vietnamese woman is married to a white man makes her a ho. my mother is vietnamese and my father is caucasian. they met, fell in love, married, and had me. how does that make her a ho?
Sorry to hear that, I suspect you live in a less than enlightened part of the US. As an American living in Vietnam, I am treated with utmost respect and courtesy. People have been wonderful to me here in Hanoi and don't say things to my girlfriend from Quanh Ninh. I apologize to you on behalf of a lot of very shameful small-minded people.
So true it is delicious!!! My boyfriend and I ate Bun cha in Hanoi and it is unforgettable! I MISS VIETNAM. Cannot find Bun cha in France :(
