Does anybody know around what years they used to say "There is nothing wrong with your television set." My grandpa has an old VHS tape with some concerts recorded on it, and whenever we would watch it I would run away from the TV when the EBS test, also recorded on the tape, came on. I think it would be pretty cool to see now, but he has no idea where the tape went.
@6891man Yes they we're . I remember one time running from those test and one time into a wall trying to run away from these things. I hate stupid tests.
@blondie87tv - I hear ya...these things always scared the crap outta me, and still do, although I appreciate their nostalgic value some 20 years later. :-)
@blondie87tv Same. I was so terrified by the tests (mostly due to the ear-raping attention signal) that I ran out of the room in terror and locked myself in the bathroom until it was over
Very cool...I'm not from the area, but recieved this ep from a friend who lives in Ontario...incidentally, this ep actually aired when WROC was in the process of transitioning from being an NBC affil to a CBS one, which resulted in them airing the latter's shows, despite still officially being w/NBC.
"North Central New York"? Rochester is in Western New York (although on the eastern edge !) LOL

That's exactly the kind of creepy text font they use for those tests! If it's only a test, why scare the crap out of us??

You obviously didn't live through the 80s. That font was actually sorta hip for its time

I was born in '86. Even so, the tests I saw as a little boy in the early '90s all had creepy text.
