  • Big difference with a real pipe organ, than a digital sampled organ like an Allen, Rodgers, Viscount, johannas and software types as they still can not get any closer than the real thing. My first experience of playing a real pipe organ was a Wicks pipe organ, and you could tell the difference between the real thing and digital imitations. Digital manufactures keeps trying, but nothing beats the real think and that is the same for a real Hammond tone wheel organ.

  • My understanding is that each manual/department has a principal rank of a different pitch in order to allow for terraced effects. Hence the 2' is on the correct manual.

  • @MrTenonSaw Upon research (this video is pretty old now), I learned that this was common way of building in Germany (having a secondary chorus of 8-4 flutes, 2 principal. However, the flute/Gemshorn stops would provide more support than they do in this organ.
