there's no need to do a video. just follow the steps on the official web site htcdev com to unlock the bootloader. then download the file on unlockroot com and run it! the program will do everythig for you, it works on wildfire s with android 2.3.6

the easiest way to root wildfire s :

2 simple steps, i'm an italian wildfire user with an european rom.

1- unlock bootloader on htcdev.com

2- download unlock root and you'll root your htc wildfire s in about 10 seconds

@pravshrawal i reccomend you not S-off your wildfire (root) because it messes up the phone. it becomes very laggy , it stucks on screens , shuts down by itself , and you cannot update the system.

Listen dude, technical people don't need tutorials.. Normal noobs (yes i'm calling myself a noob) don't know what a freaking s-off is. Quit the tutorial at 0.54 seconds.. By the way, just put your laptop+camera on a standard. Shaky as hell.

Google for "xtcclip". It's currently the only "consumer" way to gain S-OFF on the Wildfire S. (You could probably manipulate it using JTAG interface if you're having microcontroller equipment.) The Desire S (which has similar hardware) can be S-OFFed using a software tool named "Revolutionary". It uses some "privilege escalation" exploit to remove write protection from the "/system" directory. It's currently not available for the WFS because it uses different CPU where the exploit does not work.
