Clever! If you could just add some sort of adjustment feature to the support brace you would have a winning design ( ;

Being able to adjust the height of the boom higher off the surface of the water is helpful when learning... just my .02 cents.

@jleuck64 Take another look - the bracket has 3 adjustment holes in it to move the support rod up or down. Currently the rod is 2-3" too long.
