You are suffering from stress, adjustments, insecurities from your recent expat move.
You are just needing to balance within yourself with your new continent of adoption.
When you learn to focus on relaxing, beeing supremely confident about yourself, your carpal problems will go away. resting your suffering arm is also a requisite during your re-aclimateness.
These carpal "syndromes" are psychosomatic occurences within oneself.
I am astonished at the lack of interest in the huge Norway sky spiral. I had to give up keyboards for about ten years! Surgery and treatments had horrendous side effects and essentially failed. I went into a depression at the prospect of not being able to write or work with a keyboard. Best to ya!
Acupuncture will help. You can very likely avoid surgery altogether. Rest your arm. Take "microbreaks" of 10-15 seconds every three minutes while you're typing/mousing.
Dude, use your other hand. Some find that if they sit on it for awhile and it goes numb...it feels like a stranger's or Sarah Palin's.....but I wouldn't know about that.
Try using your left hand for mousing. BTW, Earth in the Balance had some juiced up science in it I think. I vaguely remember a contributor justifying using unsubsantiated theories because it was very important for the public to get engaged and do something. Being an engineer, I do remember my emotional response (disgust) with the revelation. I need to track that one down.
Don't subject yourself to surgical intervention without exhausting all options. I had the same situation. I purchased the 3M Ergonomic Mouse. It took about 3 days to get accustomed to it's functioning. However, my carpeltunnel disappeared and has never returned! This mouse is absolutely fantastic. I suggest you try it out. It's worth the effort and the $55 that it costs. Just test it out for a few days and see if it works for you. Much better option than surgery.
I'm a sheetmetal worker so I was movin metal around a lot.
When I got my wrist thingy, I decided to become aware of my repetitious movements.
I figured out what caused it and did it differently. Slowly the numbness went away.
Don't do the surgery, become aware of how you treat you're body. Stress from work changes your focus. You may need to re-prioritize your attention a bit.
I had ct surgery in both hands twenty years ago or so. If you have it done I have a little advice . do what your doc and therapist tell you no more no less you will heal a lot quicker .god be with you and I hope your enjoying your new home.
I thought to cure CTS you had to lay off the repetitive movement that caused it in the first place for long enough for the body to heal.
Richard Stallman had it so bad he had to have people do his typing for him. Can you imagine developing software while dicating to someone else? "Ok, type main left paren i - n - t argc comma char star star, NO! I mean asterisk asterisk, yeah ..."
Mike you could have a thoracic vertebrae out of alignment, this could also be causing the sensations you are or not feeling down your arm and first 2 fingers ... check with a chiropractor ...
Hi Mike.. good to hear from you again. Hey, wanted to ask you if you've watched or read any of the work from Abraham-Hicks related to the law of attraction? I know you're on a sort of spiritual quest, as many of us are these days, and thought I'd ask about these works as they've inspired me so greatly (in addition to my work with the "Law of One" teachings). Anyway, not sure if this is the type of thing you're focusing on right now, but if so, do check out the channel AbrahamHicks here on YT.
Hey Mike, I've watched your other channel (pretty much from day one) and I totally understand your change. You mentioned 'The Field' (amazing, wake up the person from a coma book) in your last vids & if you can In one sentince (or word) describe, what it did for you :)
I'm interested to know because I believe it's triggered something in everyone that's read it
It's one of those books, everyone should read with an open mind for the true effect to be possible.
Ive had CT for years...at night sleep on the opposite side of the injured wrist and lay it straight down your side. I always got relief at night from this position. I am so sorry to hear of your injury. I know how painful it is. I sewed for a living and had do it with numb, tingly, pained hands...not fun
LOL... no, the 'man to sort the mac' was under his girlfriends xmas shopping thumb this weekend... official bag carrier i believe. It'll get done- no stress! :-)
My Chiropractor said that putting a rubber band around the end of your fingers, and expanding it out will help with carpel tunnel. It strengthens opposing muscles in the wrist. No one ever needed surgery if they kept this up he said.
LOL me too! I watched in child like wonderment this week as the snow danced around me... and then in awe as birds settled in the trees next to me. How can anyone not LOVE it?
I could do without the wind here though LOL but I guess that is part and parcel of the process!
Are you sitting properly? In the past, I was developing CT and I bought a book on how to cure it naturally. I've learned how to properly sit at my desk and type and the symptoms for CT went away and have not come back. I thought of this because one of my office jobs had the Insurance company come in and teach us all about how to sit properly and type in order to decrease the number of CT claims that they have.
full frontal.......for what it is worth....i had the surgery for CT.....all has been well for years......it got so bad that i woke up one night with so much pain in my arm i would gladly have let them remove it...lol....this was way before pcs...to much knitting i guess...glad to see you again........
I had a similar problem. Wore a brace for a while, bought an ergonomic keyboard with touch pad, mounted on sliding tray under desk. Problem solved. Using the mouse on the table caused repetitive stress on my wrist. Give it a rest, let it heal.
A good Chiropractor is worth their weight in Gold! mmmm as long as they are not Tungsten filled! Mike that Tungsten Gold Bar thing is going to have some serious delayed reprecussions
