Yes I love to read that people actually are showing the respect Tidus deserves, he is one of the best in the entire series, not being a warrior and forced to be one ha that makes him better than most of the characters, he do not have crystal that gave him powers, he never got a soldier experiment to make him tuff, he never went to a school ho prepares warriors or hang out with a bunch of thieves that teach him how to fight, but still he mature and became a formidable heroe.
I agree! Tidus get's alot of shit but tbh he's one of my favourites. Maybe he starts off as whiney but wouldn't you be if you had just been thrown into a complete different world you knew nothing about? All you want is to get home but you can't. Plus throughout the story he matures greatly, when you compare his voice in the intro at the ruins of zanarkand to the first scene when you name him, he sounds alot different. But hey just my opinion :)

Out of all the PS era FF leads, Tidus felt like the most realistic one. In the sense that he had issues that alot of people could relate to with being in the shadow of your somewhat of an asshole father. His reaction to being in a new world also seemed like how most people would act.His relationship with the cast was cool too, Wakka was his bro, Lulu was kinda like the scolding mom and Auron was kinda like his mentor. And at the end he became more heroic.
This songs brings me chills and nostalgia is taking its course of action. Even though it's been years, I still continue to play this game. It's different from many games out there and brings about so many emotions. I never thought Tidus was annoying; I can easily tolerate a character. He was very dynamic and his past wasn't all that great. He's not perfect and he's only a teen. I think mainly at the beginning he was afraid and lonely. I cannot imagine how it must have felt like for him.
Tidus is supposed to be annoying in the beginning. and he is. I hated him at the beginning. One thing that I loved about this game was how dynamic the character's were. particularly yuna, tidus, and wakka. as much as I hated what a whiny, annoying douche bag Tidus was at the beginning of the game, I loved what his character became by the end.
To be honest, I thought he was irritating (and not too bright. English voice actor didn't help with first impression) at the beginning, but then character development happened further into the game. He was a lot more mature and I tolerated him. Near the end of the game, he was still a dork... but I guess I wouldn't like him any other way.
He's the first character to make me feel this way. Normally I like trigger-happy heroic sociopaths.
Ironic how much this slow and sober theme contrast with his usual behavior. Really goes to show how much depth there is to his character beyond the hyper, happy-go-lucky mask.

When I heard this song and this atmosphere had been set at the beginning of the game, I knew I was in for something epic. Probably the most memorable game opening I've heard or seen.

But despite his hatred for his father for awhile he was a great character. He was a good guy!

Sure, he was a little (sometimes a lot) whiny at some points, but he got better. He became a stronger and braver person, up until the end...which I won't spoil for people who are still playing the game. XD

Usually guys are told when they are young that they need to be strong and never whine or complain, so they simply grow up with that attitude that anybody who whines even a little is a wimp. Tidus is kind of a whimp to a certain extent, but that's what I liked about him. He didn't feel like a stereotypical hero, just a typical teenager burdened with a heavy destiny.

There's not much point in hating/defending him because at the end of the day, he's just a collection of data. If you like him, cool. If you hate him, that's also cool. finished it for the second time yesterday. The weird thing was.. i cried like hell. I played it like a week or 4, 5. And its just painful.. because it are 4 , 5 weeks you got sucked in a story.. felt for the characters, lived in their world. Its just sad to quit now its over. my friend's first final fantasy game was FF13, which he really liked..I tried to persuade him to play ff10 but he wont -___-. everyone needs to experience the old final fantasy games to truly experience life haha
Tidus=best main character in final fantasy since 6. Not exessively angsty, good voice acting, and you really just feel a connection with him. (on a side note: this games OST and voice acting was AMAZING) only other main char's in final fantasy i enjoyed playing as this much were cecil and terra

Hmm, I would say that Zidane was the least angsty out of the protagonists of FF. Besides the Warrior of Light of course, but whatever. My opinion though, of course.

I played FFX 9 years ago and I still remember this. FFX was superb back then and it is still better than most of the new rpgs. Bravo for the team that made it, those guys should have gotten the Oscars of gaming for such a masterpiece!!
@FFXforeverr This actually plays in the start of the game, when you are headed to the Blitzball Stadium and the announcers are telling a little of Tidus' history, and Jecht's.
This Kind of world is what i want most .. no pollution no noisy vehicles .. just a refreshing environment .. breath taking sights .. i wanna sit in the moonflow till it release fireflies .. visit my long lost relative in farplane even though i can hear their voice but atlest i can remember thier faces :)
Wow there's just something about this game that really leaves an impression on you when your young. It was interesting playing through recently again now as an adult you understand the politics in the plot. Square has a gift like Disney to transport you into another universe...oh and the music they make is unmatched. Nobody can make melodies like Uematsu and Hamauzu

Oh, that sucks. I used to have a copy of it that would lock up right at the end of the boat ride to the Biltzball Tournament. It was the first time I managed to learn the Jecht Shot and then FREEZE. :(

I played FFX 9 years ago and I still remember this. FFX was superb back then and it is still better than most of the new rpgs. Bravo for the team that made it, those guys should have gotten the Oscars of gaming for such a masterpiece!!

@FFXforeverr This actually plays in the start of the game, when you are headed to the Blitzball Stadium and the announcers are telling a little of Tidus' history, and Jecht's.

This Kind of world is what i want most .. no pollution no noisy vehicles .. just a refreshing environment .. breath taking sights .. i wanna sit in the moonflow till it release fireflies .. visit my long lost relative in farplane even though i can hear their voice but atlest i can remember thier faces :)

Wow there's just something about this game that really leaves an impression on you when your young. It was interesting playing through recently again now as an adult you understand the politics in the plot. Square has a gift like Disney to transport you into another universe...oh and the music they make is unmatched. Nobody can make melodies like Uematsu and Hamauzu

Oh, that sucks. I used to have a copy of it that would lock up right at the end of the boat ride to the Biltzball Tournament. It was the first time I managed to learn the Jecht Shot and then FREEZE. :(
