OMG! That is so creepy. It's amazing how something so small can make suck deep sounds like that. Up until now I always thought they made light sounds, like a kitten or something like that.
That is full on the noise they make... we hear this every few weeks at my house in Aus. What's worse is when the female (possums too) is trying to mate- she screams so loud it sounds like some little kid being murdered!

Yep I heard both a male and a female just last night. The male sounded like that koala and the female koala sounds like a cat fighting.
