When this came on Toonami I thought it would be entertaining as the other Gundam's that were on at the time...well...it was boooring to me back then. After finishing 8th MS Team (my favorite gundam period) and Stardust Memormy again(haven't finished War In The Pocket cause I refuse to watch the one on here; HORRIBLE subs), I gave this one another shot...I'm fucking enjoying it so much. =)
Best animated series ever. Too bad many didn't see or had no interested due to what it looked like. Yeah, it was made in the late 70's kiddies, that doesn't mean it isn't "cool" because it doesn't have spiky hair, or over exagerrated characters. :P
but you have to remember the time period it was made. Originally, Gundam wasn't making much success when in launched in the late 1970's until it was brought to the US thanks to Lucas's creation.
the team originally planned for 50 or more episodes but it was narrowed down to 45 as it wasn't making much wave. It wasn't until it was brought to the US in the 1980's when this franchies was revived.

Star Wars came out in 1977. Gundam began airing in 1979.

Blame the Minovsky particles, and at the time Gundam was made, technology wasnt that advanced.
