My God! I was a child at the Greater Bethel Baptist Church in Akron, Ohio when this man was Pastor. I remember he had a daughter named Cheyenne and a son named William. There was a younger daughter my age but I can't remember her name.

What a Preacher! Just wonderful to hear his voice again. We had both of his albums. This brings back great memories. Thanks for posting it!!!

I didn't know the olde skool Baptist preachers was so edumacated and trained in homiletics. I miss this kind of preaching...I think it is an art esp. of the bigger urban black Church Pastors. Another Pastor like this offered a class on this kind of preaching style...kinda strange, but, we get training for everything else why not preaching God's holy word.

Wonderful and you do look just like him omg is he Walter Hawkins father or Uncle and what is the name of your father or mother that is related to him is it Lanette Hawkins Stevens or Edwin or Walter himself just being nosey that's all lol and was he COGIC or Baphtist but he is preaching go ahead and preah rest in peace Grandpa!

Elder Rogers enjoy all of your videos, especially this one I grew up listening to old records, and I've been preaching since I was a kid. What year was this recorded in. I would like to hear "Give Me Time" what a Unique preaching style.

This is your grandfather? A great preacher. I admire our forerunners that weren't afraid of "technology" in their days. Many were so concerned about the devil they didn't make use of the mediums that were at hand. Please post more. They're a blessing.
