  • "Monitoring the elections is, at worst, legitimising the military junta's grasp over the Egyptian process, at best it's naïve," says Ranya (not her real name), one of the authors of the Egyptian letter to OWS. "I think people were swept up with eagerness."

Unbeknown to the OWS movement, this comes at a time when activists are considering boycotting the Egyptian elections because, as Comrades in Cairo explained in their letter, these elections can only produce a "puppet parliament."

  • Dayton represented her proposal to OWS as a request from "Egyptian civil society groups." But many Egyptian revolutionaries are shocked by the initiative and are wondering who is behind it. See, for example, the "Statement by Comrades from Cairo in Response to OWS Proposal to Send Election Monitors." However, aside from one signed letter from Mahmoud El-Sawy at the Horeyya Coalition, there appears to be no direct and confirmed communication from Egypt to the General Assembly.

  • bamboozled by what may be a State Dep. and/or NED initiative aimed at granting legitimacy to Egypt's flawed election process.OWS agreed to send a delegation of election monitors to Egypt after a mysterious activist flew in from Washington with a proposal in hand.theNYC OWS approved the initiative at a November 10 General Assembly and allocated $29,000. Maria Dayton, the apparent author of the proposal, boasts of connections to the U.S. State Department, the NED, Freedom House on LinkedIn profile

  • Please act through your elected officials for real change. Go to Egypt talking revolution and you burden your Egyptian friends with your safety. They may very well feel charged to risk their lives to protect you, such is their commitment to Islam. Westerners even without jobs or homes are rich in resources and opportunities. Take these opportunities to change things for real. Start with finding the solution to the Palestine-Israel conflict. Help Egypt build to stability by being an example. Vote

  • Ladies and Gentleman this is an ill advised plan. Foreigners who participate in protests in Egypt risk arrest as spies. If they advise, inspire, or share tactics with Egyptian revolutionaries are they not in fact acting as spies? Also Egypt is heavily and proudly Islamic. This ties the protesters together more than desire for international revolution. Be Christian if you are not Muslim for any respect from the people at all. Egypt needs support. Do so through democratic institutions. Vote

  • I suggest they go to Egypt and shout profanities at the police. Please post the results to YouTube for my enjoyment.

  • @jasonc32amg LOL

  • Just don't spend women, they'll be sexually harassed constantly

  • Got to stop the campaign buying out of the politicians..

When they pine for the 1% money to fund their campaigns, they care not for ideals, both sides have proven that. They're bought.

Look at the line of republican scum bags... everyone of them sold out with maybe the exception Ron Paul, but even he's 50% there with me. and because he wants to end war. Defense contractor will not fund his campaign. The bought news media will not acknowledge him.

Revolution is the only way now.

  • Why not? The US police seems to have picked up some scary crowd control techniques from their Egyptian colleagues, maybe the Occupy-representatives can learn some effective defenses against paramilitary violence from the Egyptian protesters. And if they can help by keeping a symbolic eye on the elections there, or give aid in any other way, so much the better. Solidarity among the people is the first step towards world peace.

  • Democracy fails, because the majority of people don't know what they want.

  • @madjimms A majority of the people don't vote.

  • dude don't do it, you pussies wouldn't know the first thing about danger, seriously if this ends in kidnap/beheading i would not be shocked. Monitor the elections? just be careful this isn't america where fags like you can stand in a park "protesting" if you fuck up you will get killed (im a veteran of iraq take my word for it). and before you say ohhh fox news junkie or what ever i went to occupy philly to protest the deregulation of banks and was met by hippy cunts trying to ban eating meat

  • @comradebashu

fuck u punk !! did u find any "Weapon of mass destruction" ?? u fucking jew can suck more wall street dicks !! now shut up and fuck off !!

  • @adminmovie i think you need to show a little more respect rather than associate a marine with the political reasons behind his duty oh and thank you for convincing me of my point even more by being antisemitic, have you ever served in the military? i doubt it since that would require you be sober physically fit and capable of committing to something all things i doubt you could do, and also as i said in my previous comment i support heavy bank regulation so all around fail for you

  • This is the result of "horizontal" groupthink.

Sorry, your lack or leadership or anything resembling it will doom you.

Your process is about as swift and intelligent as an amoeba.

  • Well we have no demands but

FUG IT!!!! We're going to Egypt!!

    What an unfocused bunch.

We tried to take pictures at Occupy Eugene and were told we couldn't even take picture of the signs as it would constitute an "invasion" of their privacy.

Imagine that attitude if it was the police saying you couldn't tape or photo them.

    Just sayin'.

When you say "We're the 99%" , does that include people who look conservative? Don't rail against stereotypes unless you can cast off a few of your own.

  • I don't like where this Occupy movement is going.. literally.

I Like the work you guys are doing in the US. but broadening the horizon for the movement to other nations that will, in all probability, ignore any of your ideologies. is absurd. Stay on point. focus the resources you are given to the subject it is given for. The Arab spring is already hijacked by the AL. besides there are loads of correspondents there who will have a better view on things then any of the OWS will ever have.

  • Occupy 2012!!!.

why you need people to go to Egypt, when you have the internet to better connect with those people over there. you need money to do these things and traveling is expensive.

keep it realistic. stay in America, where your at and keep your message and voice heard. some of these people are losing me, for reals.

  • @92680BOYD

keep it realistic. It isn't terribly expensive to travel abroad. stop thinking so American. In a sense what I am saying is Americans are so busy with work, get little time off, and have more expenses than most citizens of other OECD countries can ever dream of. Thus things that are doable seem unrealistic. Ppl leave America for many things, work, school, retirement, vacation, conferences, meetings, etc. Anyway I think its good to make an effort to be in the area you say you support

  • @lordblazer, hold up brotha. our people are barely involved in this OWS movement number one.

two, everything this OWS is about is old and people have protest against these same things in past. the civil rights movement for example. the only difference now, more "white" people are being affected. and why don't you bring this movement to the black neighborhoods, where it's needed more than any other?.

i don't here no mention about "our" problems in this movement?. not on damn detail.

  • DONATE???

What about the $400k they have in the bank? Won't that cover it?

Whose name is the money in?

This is just another racket. Demand transparency.

  • lets worry about the usa first

  • what the hell are we waiting for? Let's get her done!

  • how pretentious, monitor the people in egypt???

  • I do agree with what this man is saying 100%, but I do want to add in that such ideals must be exercised slowly and cautiously.

Too many revolutions have wound up with a government that was far worse than the one they replaced, even though the revolutionaries had the best of intentions going in.

Those who lead the revolt need to keep checks and balances on themselves at all times. Without such, we'll be looking at a dictatorship, or, best case scenario, a true Police State....

  • Quoting Russell Means - "Welcome to the Reservation". I personally think connecting with Native America is far more important at this stage. Not that solidarity with Egypt isn't. We have a responsibility to the Tribes who've live in extreme poverty and condemnation by those who are now attacking us, and, as Thanksgiving approaches who better to be solid with and thereby show how different THIS revolution truly is.

  • don't they already have enough douchebags over in Egypt ??

  • Sadly, everything he said is coming true; greed of the few has insured it so we've already reached the brink of 'no return' for life anywhere on this planet as we've known it. Time to heed the global Pluto Shift in consciousness and stand up to the elite Banksters directing the global economic domino turmoil taking down nation after nation around the globe. Am glad The "Shifting funds from big banks to local credit unions" campaign was a mighty 'we the people' smack in their snooty gob, yes?

  • Shared.

  • going over to any country is My opinion. And My opinion it would be a bad step. Many unforeseen problems could come out of it. so many it it beyond the scope of youtube comments...

The comment about what the America is well some education is in order. The systematic destruction of the American English language is to blame. this video is very educational watch?v=jRQ76FYvw7M with the definitions.

  • You dennis and the guy at the end of this vid are right on, representative democracy DOES NOT WORK an we are SLAVES to the system. I just wonder does dennis kucinich agree good man though he seems?. i saw senator mike gravel and on RT he believes this is this truth straight from the horses mouth.

I wonder would the military dictators appreciate OWS presence and might label you as american or even Zionist spies in Egypt though its not the Muslim brotherhood you have to be worried about

  • What was the hand shaking thingy?? Is this a religious movement or a political or social, I don't think they know.

  • This is what happens when you have "idle hands" and "Idol minds" The gentleman said, we are slaves to isms and schisms and debt as if he wasn't spouting his own idealogies at the same time he was condemning the samething. No one is a slave to debt in this society if you work to pay off your debt and even those who can't pay off their debts simply walk away from them as if they weren't there but then complain they can't acquire more credit and debt the day after.

  • if you want solidarity people from all the occupies should link up for cohesive actions

  • that guy is right people in egypt dont like the muslim brotherhood they are ruining what the protesters are trying to do and this is a super ha bisky upload

  • @TheTrollTime stupid... there are lots of christians in egypt too ... 10% of the population are coptic christians..... silly poo brains

  • dude at the end is inspiring

    he's right

    we need to revolt

  • I want to smack that bitch with the fingers waving!

  • Respond to this video... I don't think OWS is anti-capitalist I'am not ether.I have no problem with people making money. It's how some people make it I have a problem with. I do believe we need to connect with same minded people on a global basis after all we in the same sinking boat. Just make sure you are not being used for propaganda propaganda purposes. The right is going to have a field day with this so get ready a make sure your message is clear.

  • @420gma the OWs arent against people making money either they are just not for corporations making more money after taxes and for the top 1% not paying anything in taxes and trying to balance the budget off the middle and poor class and this isnt propaganda at all or else you would see it on the mainstream media because the mainstream media is know as the mainshit media because they dont actually inform people

  • @kazooga1234 That was my point! OWS isn't against making money but how people make is the problem .There is no honestly on wall street or within our corps.OWS protesters just want jobs so they can make good money the honest way.And yes the taxes in this country are geared to favor the rich.My point about propaganda was not about taxes but about going to Egypt don't let anybody use OWS for their own propaganda that's all I'm saying .

  • @420gma i dont think anybody is going to egypt so you dont have to worry about that i think this was just to talk about egypt and inform people with whats going on there sorry i miss understood your comment thank you for clearing it up

  • @kazooga1234 I was in support of the people of Egypt and I totally support OWS this has been along time coming. Good Luck !

  • What a stupid idea

  • This reminds me of the 3 Americans who wanted to go 'hiking' in Iran.... just a bad idea. The days of Americans being able to safely travel to Egypt are long long gone. Just ask Laura Logan or any Jew or Coptic Christian.

  • America was never a democracy. America was set up as a republic with democratic like elections of the republic leaders. Sending anyone to another country is not a good idea in my opinion.

  • @MegaMaxemus your argument makes no sense. The united states is a representative democracy. And what does that have to do with an independent organization sending delegates to Egypt?

  • @TheTrollTime You do know Americans have been going to Egypt for years and don't get killed, right?

  • So...who is the organizer for this government sponsored overview of the Egyptian elections and what’s the real angle?

The Egyptian people can handle their own affairs. I think someone on the inside is pulling an angle on this to divert or convince people that whatever they have planned in Egypt to come out in the US and Israeli favor will be legitimate. Saudi Arabia has a very large influence in the region and is pushing for their extremism to rule in Egypt as they did covertly in Libya.

  • Err... well.. if a represnetative democracy isn´t the name of the game what then?

Outright military dictatorship? An intelligence state?

I mean the mafia syndicate must be abolished at all cost no question about that but what then? A rule of "revolutionary commitees"?

  • @IronRangeSurvival we dont have a dictatorship and you just explained why nobody likes the muslim brotherhood its because they like good bills but they are violent so because they like good bills the side that hates the occupy people hates them because they see them on that side and the protesters hate the muslim brotherhood because they are violent and there isnt even near a solution in egypt but since you think america has a dictatorship i shouldnt expect you to know any of that

  • 4:40

Those handsigns don´t realy work allways. At this point there should have been a n outcry of support!

  • As a movement you need first of all to FOCUS!

    Do NOT overreach!

  • @PhilipPorter I agree and THAT is what's hurting this movement more than anything. Too many people want to pull this movement in too many directions. As united as they are physically, there's little unity in their cause.

They've stated that their cause is anti-corruption. I FULLY support that cause and would love to see the corrupt publicly called out and prosecuted for their crimes. However, that NEEDS to be a goal that is laid out and strived for.

  • @GrowTheTruth Precisely.

  • why are people smurking when the black man is talking?

  • I think it's a movement. I'd like to see it work towards a paradigm shift to a society of custodianship. But society has to be the custodian, and it has to recognize that custodianship includes the welfare of the planet that supports us.

  • representative democracy is a system that works. the problem is that corporate lobbying is legal. so our "representatives" don't actually represent us. they have more incentive to listen to their corporate donors than their constituents.

  • this movement, unfortunately, already has somewhat of an anti-capitalist message. *sigh* the last thing this movement needs is an anti-democratic message.

  • @pnoozi Check out the "Declaration of Occupation". It's a list of grievances from the protesters at Zuccotti Park.

None of their concerns were anti-capitalist. The concern is anti-corruption and anti-corporatism.

I agree that there are some individuals who join the protest to promote their own ideals, but nobody should forget that Occupy Wall Street, as a whole, is about anti-corporatism.

  • @GrowTheTruth great. but unfortunately a lot of idiots within the OWS movement think "capitalism" is the problem. now, this guy thinks "representative democracy" is the problem.

I wish more of the protesters' anger would be directed at our elected officials for being corrupt fucks who betray the people to please lobbyists. that's a message EVERYBODY can get behind. even teabaggers, theoretically.

but instead of that I see anger at "capitalism". a slam dunk for fox news.

  • @pnoozi (2/2) Right now, protesters have stars in their eyes. They're dazzled by how much power they have, but nobody can agree on what to do with it. Punishing corruption is the first step. It eliminates the corporate pull & levels the playing field.

By the way, it is the responsability of the American people, through government, to police the corruption of corporations. Crimes must made public. America deserves closure before this can progress. Eliminate the cause...THEN decide on a cure.

  • @GrowTheTruth"...THEN decide on a cure."

Hmm... shutting down everything and then wonder nothing works?

What then? A theocracy? How about...

    watch?v=JvKIWjnEPNY&feature=channel_video_title

  • @RegioLunar Who is talking about shutting everything down? An investigation should begin on companies or individuals who have suspicious ethical practices.

Take Monsanto. They were caught illegally dumping chemicals, which gave communities around them cancer. When people tried to take them to court, their case was thrown out. Or the fact that Monsanto is quickly monopolizing the agricultural industry.

You don't have to take down everything to punish those responsible for hurting millions.

  • @GrowTheTruth Would be fine if the court system´d work, eh?

But from an "outsider" perspective it seems completely FUBAR these days.

Also for my part i´m not "anti-capitalist" and not "anti-representative democracy" so what do you propose?

  • @RegioLunar It would be nice, but I think the court system would work if the people stood up & demanded a full investigation. It'd be rather difficult to refute evidence after an investigation digs it up.

I'll admit I don't know the solution. Many out there are far better versed in politics and have better answers than what I could explain. However, people need to start thinking outside of currently suggested systems. Let's look at what needs to be done instead of trying to fit any one system.

  • @GrowTheTruth the biggest message I see is opposition to "corporate greed". but isn't it fair to say that "greed" is what keeps an economy going? I see nothing wrong with greed, and I see nothing wrong with corporations doing what's in their and their shareholders' best interest. when a corporate lobbyist bribes an official, they're simply doing what our system allows them to do. as Bill Belichik would say, "it's not my job to stop my offense".

it's not a corporation's job to police itself.

  • @pnoozi (1/2) The fact is, if the end to corruption (not just business but also politics) is what the people truly want (and it appears to be), then that needs to be made clear.

Clarity can come from discussions, such as this one. At the moment, protesters have snagged their movement on semantics. Over whether its the Jews, the bankers or capitalism itself that's the problem.

Frankly, we all know that corruption that has gone unchecked is the BIG problem. Let's address that one first.

  • @pnoozi Greed is "an excessive desire to possess wealth, goods, or abstract things of value with the intention to keep it for one's self".

If greed should help promote healthy competition between businesses, then that's great! I agree that a strong desire for success and money is a good driver for people to really push their game.

But, in the market today, the game is rigged. Some have become so greedy that they're willing to break laws, ruin lives and hurt people to profit. THAT is unhealthy.

  • @pnoozi And to answer your question...no. It is not fair to say that greed is what keeps the economy going. In fact, greed is what is currently destroying the American economy.

  • 03:54 i can wiggle my fingers

  • Dennis - you stated representative democracy is a broken system and support revolution. What system would you support to erect in its place? Have you heard of the Zeitgeist Movement or the concept of a Resource Based Economy?

  • Hope that it all goes well.

  • Best part starts at 3:20

  • Awesome!

lol @ Fox News and the Zionists losing power to OWS.
