I remember watching this video in the 5th grade. The funny part is that some jerkoff wrote and produced this and thought "This'll get through to kids!" Either that or they just figured idiot elementary school principals would think that and buy it and give them money. I don't know which is worse.

I, myself, have never used pot. However, as a psychology major in college, and the psychopharmacology classes I had to take, I would say, with confidence, and objectivity, that there really isn't a lot of scientific data to support most of the claims made in this film. Not once in the film was the illegality of either of the drugs in question mentioned, and that, technically, is what can put a real damper on a kid's future. A criminal record, a urine test showing up positive, etc.

I was shown this video in the 5th or 6th grade. All it did for me was educate me on which drugs are the best..........SERIOUSLY. This grass is great sue!!! Smokes??? That's all you got?? Yeah, pot is waaaayyy better. I was so naive about this stuff at that age because I wasn't subjected to it until.... hhmmmmm, yeah this video. Also, all we did was make fun of it from then on and even now today. It's mostly trash that should never be shown to children, leave the no drugs shit to the parents.

Fantastic video. I'm definately going to pass it on to other moms, teachers, etc. Infact, every one should pass this on to at least 1 person. Unlike some other educational videos I've seen, this one really does make you wanna keep watching. Kudos to the producers, actors, etc.

When they grow up they'll realize that not everyone who drinks and/or smokes pot and/or cigarettes is a worthless wreck. When they realize you were lying to them, they'll no longer think drugs are a big deal. The truth is that some of your students will grow up do be drug users and some won't. It's out of your hands. Not completely, of course, but I remember seeing this movie in elementary school and my friends and I laughing at it. And yes, we did go around the school for days singing this song--and making fun of it. We weren't singing it because we had had some kind of epiphany. What amuses me is that people actually thought this was going to get through to someone.

@raypeezy Okay, I get it, but I feel compelled to clear something up--very basic: the movie is made to be shown to kids of about the age you stated, for a very specific purpose. So when you say you showed it to a bunch of kids, I think almost everyone would assume you showed it for its intended purpose. Like when you say you're going to enjoy a cigarette, I assume you're going to smoke it. But who knows, maybe you're going to eat it. Assumption is a natural instinct.

There can be a difference between intent and objective for use as well. On a serious note, videos like these had the best intentions, but I can't remember a time as a kid no matter what age when we didn't make fun of these videos, and I was their target audience back in the 80s. They went over the top with demonizing every drug the same and presenting implausible situations with hokey solutions that there isn't a person on this planet that could relate to them. Drugs are bad, but so is walking alone in a dark alley with a talking rainbow headband.
