I went to South Africa when i was young and it was bad. In South Africa they don't suffer much discrimination in the cities. In fact we have a number of prominent gay people in South Africa. But I think that in the rural areas they may suffer some discrimination.

Japan did trade with apartheid South Africa for far too long - I think in 1986 Japan was named Most Favoured Nation by South Africa. Anyway, people here now know how un-just that system was. It is a shame that there are some people on Youtube who wish to re-write history. Anyway, I'll continue to support majority-rule and change in South Africa.

You're right... it's about education. I'm from the Deep South in the US - Mississippi! When the schools were segregated, the black kids got a crappy education compared to the whites. When they desegregated, they didn't want to spend money for tutors to bring the blacks up to the level of the whites - so, now everybody is stupid.

Affirmative action is a terribly touchy issue. In South Africa there was affirmative action for years, but it was not called that. Certain jobs were reserved for whites, in my book that is affirmative action.
