Why the hell is everybody hating on Zexal? I mean yeah the first episodes were not that great,but still! It takes time guys,I mean Astral and Shark are cool characters and Yuma despite the fact that 60% of his monsters are level 4 monster cards,I like his character...Like I said the first episodes were not that interesting,but it started becoming more awesome and so on.Also the duels are good.In a small amount of times they are generic,but still pretty cool.The only thing i didn't like was OP 1.

Not to be a fan boy, but I think 5d's imo was the best Yugioh in terms of characters. You have to admit that Crow and Yusei are pretty interesting characters. GX was wayyyy too overrated and started MOST of the meta decks we see today. The Original wasn't too great to be honest, the very last season was just plain stupid, they should of just stuck with card games rather the go through all that. Zexal is well... it will take some time..
I had a similar reaction to Gundam AGE at first I thought it was terrible because of the art style but I gave it a shot and by episode 14 it proved to me it was actually a pretty decent Gundam series, Now I have not watched Zexal yet but I feel if I give it a shot and make an effort to watch it I will have a similar reaction. Plus this opening is pretty good.

Zexal is just a restyle of the orginal series.....where an entity not of this current world is assisting them. In this case....Astral is Yuma's Pharaoh from the orginal series....

A lot of the humor and silliness has been cranked up though. But if GX and 5D's are any indication, it will get a darker tone, and soon.

Zexal is just a restyle of the orginal series.....where an entity not of this current world is assisting them. In this case....Astral is Yuma's Pharaoh from the orginal series....

@ProfessorBullcrap: The 'scouter' is actually a part of the game. The game is now a huge Augmented Reality rather than solid vision holograms, so the D-Gazer is required to see the holographics of the game being played. Has the added effect of stuff like destroyed surroundings and such.

i thx zexal for getting me back in the yugioh anime, i mean 5ds is ok but with this card games on motorcycles. really!? i like zexal it have an epic plot to it. all you zexal hater just know that this is better then 5ds, but the original yugioh is the all time best anyways over all yugioh zexal is actual good. at least ever yugioh fan should give zexal a chance.

@ShiningFlare100 I don't know the whole story, but it has to do with a key on his necklace and how there's a spirit, i guess, inside of it or is freed cause of it and it helps him duel. A lot of the humor and silliness has been cranked up though. But if GX and 5D's are any indication, it will get a darker tone, and soon.

1.Yuma. Kind of looks like they took some brightly coloured pieces of rubber and glued it to his head...
2. Yugi. My only explanation is that he is waring a tiara of cardboard. Bonus point beacuse of the bangs, thought. They look SOMEWHAT normal.
3. Yusei. His hair actually seems like hair... If you use a shitload of hairspray and paint on the highlights, it might even be possible.
4. Yudai. Well, it is brown, and exept for it's volume, it's normal
