I'd love to buy one of these, I have the cash waiting....however despite advertising them in the pro Uk camera mags, nobody seems to stop them....Ive tried to get one from Calumnet twice.....out of stock.
So if anyone from Tenba is reading this...please please gewt your shit together, why advertise something months away from the supply chain.?
I have a question for the people that own this bag, is it too big to use for travel and only to carry a laptop? I ask because I'm not into photography but I am looking for a nice bag to carry my Macbook Pro along with any other things I need to lug around to work and when I travel, and this one caught my eye but I don't know if it would be too big for my needs (I really can't tell from the video).
Yes it is. I carry a Nikon D80 + lens, two more lenses, speedlite and a laptop. Plus other junk in the various pockets. Heavy, yes, but the bag can take it. My shoulder is the only limiting factor...
hmmm... looks nice and good... altho i'm not sure about that zip on the front flap... it covers the whole width.. meaning if it rips, the front flap will be useless... but still 5 star!
tenba bags need more stylish accents and a slightly snazzier logo to attract the attention for camera shooters. some faux leather accents on the sides might make the consumer more drawn to it. looks good though
Like Domke (the long-time photo shoulder-bag champion), one of the selling points of these bags (at least this particular one & the one shootout backpack that I've used) is that they don't have any fancy colors or logos & they "don't" look like camera bags. I think adding exactly the changes that you specify would kill the majority of the customer loyalty. That's what you guys have your silly Crumpler bags for anyway. This is no Crumpler
But really I want one its an amazing looking bag! I bring everything around even when Im going on a only 2hour walk. Definatly getting one, only problem is which color I should get ahhh. great vid
@mugzy05: The Mesenger comes with the (removable) Photo Insert that fits inside the main compartment. The original version of this bag did not come with this insert, most likely the source of the confusion.
Thinking about getting it. The top zipper is what interests me the most. According to the video, the camera compartment seems to have dividers (seen @ 2:24). Other forums say it's just a wide open pocket, no dividers. What's the deal? If no dividers I guess I could try to fit in a domke insert, although I'd have to spend another $30-$40
I've got the large special edition black bag, haven't sent my plate in for engraving yet though. Holds my camera gear great, and pretty much anything else. (It accommodates a medium-sized SMG nicely...don't ask.)
The padded back is so comfortable against my side, I can barely tell it's there, even fully loaded.
I put carabiners through the double loops, I use one of them for a Sigg water bottle...something else that is good-looking and ruggedly-made.
Can I put my Linhof 4x5 view camera in this? No?

Hi My Tenba Messenger's handle has frayed and the plastic insert protrudes. Does Tenba warranty that type of wear and tear?

I'm always a Tenba Fan. They simply design things with the photographers in mind.
BTW, is the Messenger showen in the video the large or the medium one?

So what happens if you drop the bag?
The perfect camera bag would inflate some airbags to cushion the fall.
This is not a feature in this bag thus it's not perfect.

Great looking product! Would love to have one of these. Just wish the presenter would dial back the enthusiasm some. ;-)

want one so badly. Is it ever possible to have both your camera (small dslr, nikon D40) and laptop in the bag?

I usually put my Olympus E-330/Leica 14-50/Zuiko 40-150/Fl-36 + Dell 14.1" Latitude D630 in this bag.
