His only serious technical flaw is the spins. Shamefully slow for a skater of his level. The rest is perfect. If you don't care for outstanding jumps, go watch ice dancing or shows. Here, though, you go for sport first, then for the transitions and arm waving. No artistry can count if you suck technically. The only skater who can be forgiven for it is Lambiel. But the Suisse guy is totally unique & his art level is out of reach for everybody else. All the others, please line up after Plushenko.

In Estonian figure skating is called "iluuisutamine"- which means beauty skating. And Lambiert's performance was much more beautiful to watch.

Yes, beautiful to watch and artistic. But full of mistakes and falls. I prefer a clean an technic program with great jumps than an artistic, beautiful to watch and bla bla progrma full of mistakes.

You can watch beautiful figure skating anywhere, even in the ice circus, but for OLYMPICS, the skating needs to be more than beautiful, it is the place where men and women are able to show the incredible, the records, amazed the audience with incredible skills, that's the reason of Olympics, yesterday, today and forever.

@Jacconda: si tratta di spostare un accento. In italiano siamo in grado di distinguere tra "pero" e "però", giusto? Non parlo di imitare il russo in tutto, solo di azzeccare magari l'accento sul cognome e la g non dolce (come in GIACCA) ma dura (come in GHIANDA). Il punto è che vengono pagati per commentare questi avvenimenti: si preparassero un bel foglietto con scritti i nomi come vanno pronunciati, o si ascoltassero un commentatore straniero!!

Dicevo forse il contrario, io? però ti assicuro che di russo ne so più io di loro - lo studio da 6 anni - e mi fa incazzare che non sappiano pronunciare un semplice nome. sinipiiga, it's because it's obligatory to have all the element in this Short program, it's not a Free program where he can do anything he wants.

@vilynka I certainly know this and that's why it is difficult to make a truly good short program :) and this is one part where the top skaters should make the real difference!

I mean that from such a skater I'd expect top performance, which is capable of combining the technic with artistry and expression. But yes, coming back can be hard and maybe that's why he concentrated this year to get the most necessary points first :)

Yes EP is perfect (and I can never get over his gorgeous Sex Bomb performance :)) , but this particular one was empty, soulless and had nothing to do with the music. Just like a row of technical things in a row. Boring. Such top skates must be one with the music and interpret it on the highest level.

Sinipiiga, I totally agree with you! I'm not saying he is not talented, coz he is one of the most talented figure skater of the world, but it was a really boring program. I was expecting a bit more from him. The technical part is obviosuly great, no doubt, but for the second points, it was like he got the points for his name and not for what he did on the ice. I'm sorry if I have hurt someone with my comment, did not mean to.
