  • our education system sucks but our tv programs are incredibly entertaining to watch.

  • These teachers lacking fuckin respect !!! That wont happen in my country . And 99% of american universities are joke , poor students , come to europe u are welcome.

  • The hell with you all. Come to England, it's a happy place :) BETTER THEN THAT SHITHOLE.

    You have a right-angled triangle.

One of the two shorter sides is 5.7m.

    The other side is 7.5m

Work out the hypotimuse using pythagarous therom. Cunts

  • The problem is you shouldn't rely solely on schools to get your education. If you REALLY want to educate yourself READ READ READ READ and READ. 60% Of college is memorizing facts.

  • but if you look up on the internet the best Universities in the world, American IB League schools usually rank the highest, if their highschool education is so bad why do the IB league schools attract people from around the world? Is it just a fancy name, how does it differ from a regular University or College?

  • One bigggg issue is tv, and celebrities kids know more about little wayne than they do world geography. Its pathetic! And funny how most americans belive we have the best education, but we dont.

  • But the specific problem for students is; they can't remember whatever they need to learn for a very long time, the material usually isn't taught in a great way to learn that's why it comes in one ear for sometime, and out the other ear after a week or so.

  • Not all schools are bad, people aren't searching the correct areas. Read the reviews people;they're very helpful to find a good school district, but I have to say some states in general, just have terrible education standards (Are too low of credits),and high school requirements to pass out of high school (Are just too low of education, such as: (2 years of math,2 year of science). Yes, there are schools which have requirements that low!

  • I have learned more from reading books then i ever had in highschool my highschool was a joke...

  • I dropped of school because of the stress, being bored out of my mind, and kids being so mean to me. That was like... 8th grade... and later, I took GED Classes.

I educated myself through TV Shows, Movies, Video Games, the Internet, Books, Fan Fictions, Wikis, Anime, friends, family... but I learned so much because it kept my interest...

And when I was 17, (I'm now 18) I took GED Classes... and I turned out to be the most advanced person in the class...

You only learn if it's interesting ;)

  • a highly productive nation in reproducing stupidity.

  • new school:

attendance will no longer be compulsory, if schools offer what kids need, there will be no requirement on our part to coerce them,

the classroom is no longer where children spend the day, but in the school as a whole, moving about as they need to,

fresh, toxin-free food is served only,

there is significant allocation of social resources required for the task,

students get a vote on ALL school issues,

    DEMOCRACY, AUTONOMY, SELF-MANAGEMENT

freedom scares all who say "we can't"

  • as an educator, i see that schools are not supposed to lead to free and independent human beings,

    that's too radical for americans,

they are centers for mind cloning, a lobotomy on YOU so that even a C student like bush is able to dupe millions,

these tired teachers come from the same system they are against, and this limits them, they have ZERO experience in running classrooms which are democratic or free...

(it's compulsory! how can think you're free you wankers?!)

  • As a teacher of fine arts, one must remember that the nations that laugh at the US 9 such as China and Russia) treat their Fine Arts programs as academia. I cannot tell you how many times I have been told by some idiot administrator, to quit teaching Bach, Beethoven, or Mozart, and teach the kids "fun music" like LIL WAYNE and BRITTNEY SPEARS. THIS is why American Education is so ignorant.. How can stupid teacher/administrators teach kids if they themselves are complete unethical morons?

  • @pissedpatriot1776

Thank you, we need to replace 'Jay Z' with Frank sinatra, replace Kanye West with Beethoven, and by the way, im a 14 year old American, and I support this sutff, but I feel like the only one.

  • Well Mr. 14 year old, you sound like a bright kid. I don't think all pop culture is bad, but its not ACADEMIC. Bach, Betthoven, handel, Haydn, Mozart, American Jazz, those are ACADEMIC forms of music. If you can understand the workings of THOSE forms, you can play or understand ANYTHING, even rap or hip-hop. However I think a lot of that rap and hip-hop is VILE, NASTY, and is LITERALLY making kids stupider ( rap deconditions the English language syntax). You sound like a TRUE American to me!!!

  • Yes, I agree, even rap, and hip-hop can be academic forms of human art, in fact anything can be human art, but it dosen't deserve to be illustrated as such unless it is academic, or has some form of educated opinion, and people have the ability to withdraw something educated from it.

Yes, I am one of the people who consider people true Americans, i call us the "superior 10%" because we are thinner, smarter, and have the idealism to build this country, not destory it from the inside.

  • @americanoxford and replace Britney Spears with Ardolf Hitler

  • @americanoxford

You are not alone kid! :3

  • wow the teachers them selfs are on the slowside man damn...

  • I especially disagree with the teachers who think they have the right to SEGREGATE students into a vocational track and a college prep track. They will simply take minorities and disadvantaged children, regardless of their intelligence, and stick them in the vocational track, while the kids who wear $600 outfits to school get the college prep classes. All students need vocational training AND college prep so that when they are truly ADULTS they can choose for themselves.

  • Of all the instructors interviewed, the only one that spoke the truth was Mrs. Lebold, who is probably an excellent teacher.

  • The woman in the green shirt stating teachers do not get paid enough is a liar. The guy stating that demanding of excellence from students and ignoring issues related to self-esteem and character is a dangerous idiot. He needs to move to the hood where he has to worry about being shot in the back for walking on side of the street that belongs to the crips. Some people have to worry about PASSING school and avoiding danger. He would mock a 16 year old with a work permit for staying in school.

  • @majesticlizard

Acctualy, there is already plans for this, with Obama's plan(may acctualy be Arnie Duncan's plan, but its unimportant) 'Race to the Top.' The idea of it is to extend school hours untill 5 o'clock, and the reason for this is to get kids who come from poor areas, out of their neighborhood's, and into the school, to take them out of the dangerous enviorment.

  • Teachers in America make an obscene amount of money. In many areas a teacher with tenure can make nearly six figures a year (look it up). However, most of them enter the field for the job security provided by the teacher's unions and for the social status. Most of them do not care about students at all. They cater to children that appear privileged for social status reasons and do profound psychological harm to disadvantaged children, which makes children easy prey for gangs.

  • considering that we're given the responsibility for cleaning up the mess many parents make, there is no amount of money which can be called obscene,

10 million for making a movie is obscene,

and what about where salaries are dog shit low, like the south?

teachers don't give a shit because no one else does, and that's a fact,

all the propaganda is a lie,

we're into mind cloning for the state, and have little personal experience with actual democracy or freedom in schools,

  • Appently, they're really into "School pride" and all that shit. Like you're not normal if you don't go to a sports game and stay home and study like you should be doing. That must suck. Because that'd make me even weirder than I'm already seen as.

  • man these teachers suck....i wouldnt listen to them either....

find me a hot brunette and id learn so much

then again im from australia so naturally im smarter than an american

  • dude, you know why? think about where teachers come from? do you see a correlation? (smart people didn't need my cue) but we all know that's because MOST (not all) can't do anything better than teaching (of course most failed to do so anyways) DO you seriously think that these people can't motivate anyone to work or guide them to their passion?

  • ho yea lets pour more money for education so these fucking clowns can have a place to fuck around and the girls a place to get pregnant fuck that shit i aint voting for that

  • I think american education is best in my opinion. People are given respect here and have rights, which is the best part. The students have rights and not just teachers. Also in america, kids learn lot of stuff not just one thing only.

  • thank god i live in Canada

  • Education Reform Act aka BR Act( Battle Royale!!!!)

  • @d1sturbed68 LOL, excellent.

  • I believe high school should be more like college where they give you the topic or highlights and you must investigate beyond that...1 hour of class and 3 of studying the material

  • the american education sucks balls and its never going to get any better dont even think about it

  • if you can get a phd THE HIGHEST AWARD IN MEDICINE at age of 22 or 25 then your education system is terrible

  • @themightyjoseph A Ph.D or an M.D. is not an award, it's a prerequisite. You're a real idiot for making such a stupid comment.

  • @JTMarlin8 YE i know that genious, i said it was an award because you get awarded a phd, i didnt mean it was an award as in "national award" or "foundation award"

  • @themightyjoseph LOL, you're bashing our education system, yet you can't even spell "genius".

    You're an idiot. Reasons:

    1. Just because an advanced degree is "awarded" to a laureate, it doesn't make it an "award".

    2. An M.D. is the highest degree in medicine, not a Ph.D.

    3. Doctors acquire certifications to perform various procedures throughout their careers.

    4. The highest award in medicine in the U.S. is the same as in the rest of the world, the Nobel Prize.

  • i havent lived in england for very long so my spelling isnt so good (4 years) but the british education system is much much better then usa

WILL YOU DROP THE FUCKING AWARD THING? ogd this is exactly what i mean

masters degree is not higher then phd, i think masters is level 8 whilst phd is level 9 and if you finish phd then you can call your self doctor

you cant study for a nobel prize in uni, to get a nobel prize you have to do or invent something great

  • American students are simple, honest and fearless. They think straight. That is their biggest asset. Under right teacher, they can excel. You need dedicated teachers. Ask for help take help.

This action will save you and your country 20 years down the line. Action needed by you and now

If your children are stupid, money will not save you; If your children are bright, you do not need money

  • School should be viewed as a privilege, not an oppression. Students shouldn't be forced to go to school. You'll get a lot of smart people that way. It's better than making the whole population somewhat dumb.

  • so what if more than half the students decide not to go to school? You think you will have SMARTER students?

  • things like prom

  • Pingletons is correct. In public elementary, middle, and high schools the content is given to you. Basically, you just need to memorize it. Of course, there are a few classes that make you think outside of the box.

  • good ol bush h.s...lol

  • this makes me feel bad :(

  • I think the poor quality of the American education is reflected by the fact that American students have to do a basic degree before they can go into medicine, law etc.

In European countries, students have a good enough grasp of science, history, maths etc. to go straight into these courses.

In America, the basic degree is the American student's first real taste of education.

  • Combined with the teachers, students, and government not giving a shit. During my entire school career, nearly everything I've learned has come from libraries, research papers, and the internet. And low and behold, I know much more on subjects than most straight A students that go around flaunting their GPAs as if it really means they're intellgent. School is cake. It takes little effort to succeed. Educate yourself. Don't let your mind be in the hands of out stupifying education system.

  • intelligent*

    stupefying*

Sorry, I type fast when I'm angry.

  • @IHateEverythingXD you absolutely right ive learned more from book in a few days than what a school can tech me in five years

  • You are right to an extent, however, most careers can be accomplished with the basic degree you are speaking of. The law and medical field are the 2 big ones where you have to go through a 4 year college first, then move on to a specific post-graduate school. You are right however when you say that college is the first real taste of education. While some take advantage of high school, many view it as something to coast through on the way to college, thus they don't apply themselves.

  • The US government and economy depends on American consumerism. Without it America would be nothing. So it's very critical to keep majority of the people entertained and consuming rather then educating the people to think for themselves.

  • Keeping people entertained has nothing to do with it. You're either stupid or you're not. You're either a logical thinker, or some asshole who takes everything at face value. People don't change.

  • people are stupid because we choose to....think about it...ask my 10 year old (soon 11) "God"-Brother, what he would like to do for the day. Watch Sponge Bob or read a book.

my money is on Sponge Bob...the entertainment is provided for a reason, TO MAKE US STUPID. and we are socially handicapped for making these options, a option. a book should always be first, never second. but the fact that we should have to pay for our education is an out rage. learning is a privilege not an entertainment

  • The entertainment is there to....entertain. Any idiot would rather watch Spongebob, but it takes someone who can think for themselves to grab the book. And some(see "most") people just don't have that.

  • sorry, all i heard was Baaaaaaaa....i don't understand sheep

  • We need to have schooling being more focused. In America people want everyone to go to college and for any society that is unrealistic. We should help the better students get into college and have the lower scoring student focus on vocational education.

  • the education system deals with nothing spiritual and giving us a higher consciousness to the universe galaxy and other dimensions. the illuminati have purposely took it out of schools to keep us programed

  • what better way to control a society than to control what they see, hear, and learn

  • and what better way to do it through t.v.

  • public schools suck, private schools are hard as hell, 93 to 100 is an A in some private schools and a 70 is a D

  • whats the point of learning something if you dont retain at lease 93% of what you learn. its also what you put into it. education is thought of very lightly in this country. we as americans always take advantage of things and cry when they are taken away. america doesnt respect its education, so why should people care about it when its not going to be there any more. hypricates....all of us here and we should be ashamed of ourselves.

  • umm its never really the schools its the kids if they are willing to learn then they will but some kids just dont want to listen to what they are being taught

  • K-12 is certainly a problem,

but the best colleges in the world are in America.

Our highest, brightest, and best minds are teaching in the prestiguous universities or participating in groundbreaking research. Lets face it, most of the jobs in this world do not require the education most people consider necessary. Those who would go into higher education fields will. They will run through the colleges and get the best education and environment available.

  • Fully agreed. Most European and even some Asian countries just blow USA away. And our education is nationalist and pre-collage setting so yes it sucks. I hate it, and I'd never put my kids through it, I'd move to Europe if I had a kid so they get a real education.

  • If our education system is as bad as you say it is, why are so many other countries sending their graduates and under-graduates to America to study?

  • Collage has nothing to do with our Education system!

  • You spelled "college" wrong you ignoramus. But hey-- I guess we're a product of our environment, huh?

    P.S.

You have no idea how dumb your comment sounds.

  • Our education system = K-12. Get a clue.

  • You're almost not an idiot....

  • Where we now live, they focus on the dumb-ass F.C.A.T. Man, oh man, do I miss San Diego, Monk....

  • Is there a website with American final math and pysic exams? I live in europe and I'm curious about the American education level.

  • JTMarlin8... made:

Reply to your comment on: american education sucks:

"LOL @ Commiton. That is such bullshit. You think the way you do because you're poor...dumbass welfare morons like yourself. etc."

Perhaps folks like JTMarlin8 are right about folks like me. Or perhaps they think the way they do because they' have it good. If you claw or are born into advantage within a system of disadvantage it's easy and feels good to think the way he does and call protestors "dumbass welfare morons".

  • Read what Americans write on YouTube and you'll understand why their education system sucks...

  • ha ha... so true....

  • Couldn't agree more!!!

  • Well, I'm OK with that point. I see a lot of 'your' and 'you're' confusion here on YT

  • What is so bad with the american education system? Can someone explain cos im like from wales and just in case you didnt know thats to the left of england in the uk

  • Our kids are idiots it is a cultural thing, based on mass consumerism and entertainment. We have brought it upon ourselves.

  • Part of the issue but very relevant. A major part, Monk....

  • Don't blame them the schools are the culprits. They're run like fascist institutions.

  • the problem is that it's slow, unfocused, and the teachers don't get paid enough so it weeds out some good prospectives

  • School has a huge importance on our growth, but if we let government take responsibility for our education we will never see results. We all as a informed society should take a leap in making our schools more open and more creative as a learning atmosphere. five stars

  • America is cheating it's children out of a good life and a fullfilling future by these indoctrination stations but, people are to stupid to do anything about it so year by year and day by day there are more casualities from this so called "education" they'd have you believe is "perfect" I'm talking about college as well as stupid public schooling.

  • Education sucks because all that we learn is U.S. history, some Euro history, writing essays and reading, and math. I teach myself things that I don't learn in class, and we miss a lot of topics. Some important ones are philosophy, more history, more advanced writing, darker history, governments besides democracy, and so much more. The U.S. may have good education compared to many other countries, but thats because so many don't have education. Lack of study leads to ignorance, and vice versa.

  • I'm in middle school, and I open my eyes to the world, not close them. Here in the U.S. they teach to think how they want you to think, thats why they have stupid conservative republicans who are afraid of change, like Rush. I think we should take a stand and open our eyes to the vast world of knowledge and accept change and new ideas, learn beyond our own history, and learn from our mistakes, we have so many ignorant people due to this crappy education we get, and to get a good one is pricey.

  • GuyWhoCanFly... you will get to the above and more when in college. Those who would stop at a K-12 level and not move on to college would not need most of what they learned in any case, so what is the point in trying harder with them?

  • The government and rich "owners" of the counry run the schools to dumb down the kids, make them obediant, and make them question nothing. I'm in high school, and standardized testing is the only important thing. They try to strip me of my free thoughts everyday to make me work in an office or a factory all my life then die. They want dumb robots. They want me to sit down, shut up, and get to work doing some bullshit with a pencil and some bubble tests.

  • The reason the education system sucks is because we rely too much on multiple choice tests to evaluate people. Hell, I'm in college now which is better than high school, but I swear that 60% of my entire grade is based on multiple choice tests and my ability to memorize facts. Even computer classes, speech classes, and accounting classes have these damn tests.

  • Instead being graded on how good you are with computers, accounting material, or giving speeches, the only thing that really matters is how much you memorized the stupid textbook. I say screw the tests or make them open book and put more emphasis on learning concepts, not facts. There is only so much to be learned out of some textbook.

As for those in high school, college IS better, but there's still BS, just not as much as high school.

  • EXACTLY!

  • At the beginning of 11th grade I took a math test during math class to assess my knowledge/skills. At the end of the year I took the same test and actually scored one point WORSE than I had 9 months prior.

  • Did Obama mention something about demanding excellence? I think it was just teacher accountability.

  • You're working with less than half a tool kit and you know when you work angry you get hurt. You can fart words with the best of 'em though and I admire your spunk.

  • It is critical to our ruling class here in the U.S. that we wage slaves stay too dumb as a mass to think our way out of the oppression and exploitation our sadistic bourgeois dictators keep us down with. There's a plan here to keep them rich and powerful over you so stfu piss ant dreamer and kiss the boot of the rich!

  • LOL @ Commiton. That is such bullshit. You think the way you do because you're poor.

The upper class in America is taxed UP THE ASS. All those rich kids you see in the OC and Beverly hills will lose 55% of their inheritance estate to taxes. $600 billion per year of tax money goes to dumbass welfare morons like yourself.

And there's a reason why "wage slaves" aren't part of the ruling party. It's because they're idiots who CHOSE to be wage slaves through crappy education, drugs, etc.

  • LOL @ U JTMartin. You are so full of shit. You think you deserve your inheritance, something that is in no way your achievment, while we "wage slaves" have to work our way OUT of our "inhertance."

There is a reason that the "wage slaves" can't be a part of the ruling party. Because we inherit our parents debts (no money for a good school, poor living conditions, poor growing up environment).

You are so sheltered by your money and power that you have become blind to the real world.

  • Dumbass, your not having enough money for school and a nice environment is NOT the fault of the government, but rather your parents. What do you want, unlimited handouts?

Simplified scenario - poretend for a moment that you're in the upper class and have $10M. $4.5M goes to income tax. Then you die and your kids inherit the money. They get $2.5M. Maybe they don't deserve that.

But that's not the point. $7.5M went to tax, much of it paying for welfare. How is that favoring the rich?!?

  • you're

  • Dumbass, I never spoke of handouts. Noticed I used the words "working poor" these are people who have multiple, low paying jobs that can not support themselves due to high interest on houses, cars and health care prices.

Those are all in controll of the rich, who love to squeeze that extra dollar out of the working man to feed their fat wallets. Remember AIG? Those assholes used "handouts" to give bonuses to the their FAILED executives.

The rich get richer and the poor get poorer.

  • AIG was bullshit. Everybody hates those assholes, including the rest of the upper class.

The fact of the matter is, just because you're poor, it doesn't mean that everyone else has to be poor as well.

    Don't be a self-deserving asshole.

  • No, the real fact of the matter is that you are selfish.

You are like the kid in class who wont share his cookies with the other kids. Sure they are his cookies, and sure he has every right to keep them all to himself, but that doesn't meen he has to be an asshole about it.

People should share their good fortune with those around them.

Can nothing warm that icy heart of yours? Are you so greedy and selfish that you have lost your humanity?

The poor don't make themselves poor, you do.

  • LOL. You're kidding, right? Sharing cookies, what a fucking joke. The kid in class has a choice of whom to share his cookies with. If the teacher confiscates them and distributes them evenly amongst the students, she's a fucking communist, just like you.

And you're wrong about the poor. Handouts make people lazy, which is why welfare recipients are the laziest bunch of fucks on the planet.

Illegal immigrants are the exception, as they work very hard. But, they're illegal....

  • Whatever happened to good will toward men? Or are the communists the only ones that care about their fellow man?

You understand so little, yet you speak as if you know everything.

Do you think that the poor get up every day and say to themselves, "MAN! I love not having a house to sleep in, and food? Who needs that stuff? I just LOVE being a lazy fuck who can't afford healthcare, so if I get sick, OH WELL."

People like you make me sick; we have nothing more to discus.

    Good day.

  • Our disagreement lies within our opinions toward socialism. You see it as good will toward men, whereas I see it as one step closer to communism.

Sure, some American public schools suck. The poorer the neighborhood, the shittier the school. That's what happens in a free country. What's your solution? Tax the shit out of the rich (70, 80%?) and throw money at the shitty schools? You think money will fix a school where the kids play hookie 4 days a week?

  • And yet you still reply to my messages.

    BTW, nice name. Sounds sexy.

  • I'd play hookie in your school system too.

  • Communism is superior to Capitalism. Hell, seems like a driving force behind education in America is money. They don't tell you to work hard so you can do what you love, they tell you to work hard so you can have a higher paying job.

America was founded on getting rich quick.

Power to the Proletariat. And death to Capitalism.

  • @Ninox37 "they tell you to work hard so you can have a higher paying job."

What are you talking about? Teachers have always told their students to do what they love. It's the level-minded PARENTS who told their kids to stop dreaming and do something useful with their lives.

Obviously you have a low paying job and have an unrealistic mentality that childhood dreams are supposed to come true.

Too bad. Life isn't fair. Welcome to the real world, asshat.

    P.S. Communism = famine.

  • You have no idea what kind of job I have, idiot. I am still in high school. Unlike you, I am not going to assume how one lives, but I will tell you the motto of my school seems to be "get good grades so you can get a higher paying job", the getting good grades I can understand. I have a high GPA, but I am not doing that just so I can have a well paying job.

If I was given the option to be a CEO who makes millions a year, or an Air Force pilot who makes $250,000, I'd choose the pilot.

  • @Ninox37 LOL, your argument is weak and your numbers are totally inflated.

Don't worry, with your communist/socialist mentality, there's no way in hell you'd ever be an executive at any company, and you don't have what it takes to start your own biz.

And USAF pilots do not make $250K a year. Look at the pay grade charts. You barely squeak into 6 figures as a Colonel, 20 years after becoming a 2nd Lieutenant.

But you wouldn't get selected to be a USAF pilot anyway. You're a communist.

  • Last time I checked, I don't remember politcal beliefs hampering pilots of any Air Force I can remember. Erich Hartmann was STRONGLY opposed to Hitler the Third Reich. Even Field Marshall Erwin Rommel planned a coup on Hitler. Failed, but he still tried.

You're just an asshole who cannot stand when someone has a different opinion than you. Please, fuck off.

  • Japan FTW!!!

  • i'm glad i live in finland.

  • herrMaria, that's a pretty dumb statement.

America is about freedom. Here in the states, you're free to be as smart or dumb as you want to be. If you choose to be smart, America has the best universities in the world lined up to take you in.

Take a look at the 2008 university rankings. America took the top 2 spots as well as about 75% of the top 100. Finland barely made it into the top 100 with the University of Helsinki at #91!!!

    I'm glad I DON'T live in Finland.

  • America also probably has 90% of the bottom 500. Looking only at the best universities in the world isn't a good way to judge a country's standards, especially since their worth in general is pretty questionable.

  • Well that's kinda iffy because I've been to three different sites and the rankings change, all sites say that Harvard is number one so I am assured in that fact but it's a toss up between Cambridge in UK and Stanford in US being number 2. It's not like were the worst, according to world's standards, we are 12th in the World out of about 130 countries. We are not the greatest in education but, we are open to diversity which is why we have so many out of country students.

  • Hehehe.. as long as the kids learn what they like at home.. they can pass the exams and do what they love with their life..

    The school is overrated..

  • there are failing school districts in urban areas, but still, out of 600 best universities in the world, 400 are in the US. Why? Probably in part because it's NOT socialized.

  • The reason Americans learn "nothing" in High school is because they teach you EVERYTHING in elementary and middle school. Im in 7th grade and I havnt learned anything I didnt already know for the past few years. And yes, Im American. Its not that American education is BAD, its just that its not spread out enough. We learn everything at a young age and just review and add on to stuff we already know in high school. I know things in 7th grade that high schoolers in other countries dont know.

  • dutch grade 7 math is american grade 11th math

  • Canadian grade 9 math = American grade 12 math.

  • force them to succeed? what a dumbass

  • I came to america to study...but after being kinda dissatisfied, I have decided to do some volunteering shit and trying to pick up chicks and playing lotto

    Waste of my tuition

  • At 3:36 Mr. Spence is the sexiest man I have ever seen!!

  • looooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooool

  • they don't want you smart!!!

  • The teacher's unions are too powerful. The tenure system robs teacher's of a reason to work hard and do their job well. There are too many unnecessary jobs in every school. And there are more and more tests being given, yet they keep getting made easier and easier to schools can qualify for aid. Its self destructive.

  • CONTINUE: "Teaching in America is not a respected profession" This is so true!

Why must America compare its children? They do not stem from the same socioeconomic background, cultural background, religious background, or language background, so why are they compared to assimilated standards?

  • you want to fix education? use the voucher program the Republicans support. give parents the right to "choose" their school. it will force schools to un-ass themselves or go under. competition and private industry beats a corrupt school board system any day.

  • Screw working hard to make good grades, some group of assholes over here are demanding new jerseys. Thinking they'll wipe away some sort of invisible curse if they have a new look.

And if it isn't just that. Some of the teachers hired know little to nothing on what subject they were hired to teach. Like if you have a teacher who is better at teaching English, yet assigned to teach Science.

Most of the shit they teach us are either made up or by text books. We can be smarter than that.

  • Majority of the schools prefer Athletics over Academics to be honest. Spending money on pointless sports like Football every once in a while is one of the things that are killing education.

I know, over my high school before I graduated, that we had over a $600,000 budget. The majority of it, about 500,000 of it, went to improving the fucking football field. That and planning on giving it more seats. Even though our football team sucked ass, and we've only won 1 state championship.

  • I told my cheff that i dont want to go back to that stupid class, so she went and chatted with them, made a deal if i pass i dont go back to that stupid class. I studied my ass off cause i want a bright future and travel. I was also very busy, very little sleep.

I proved to them that i am able to achive what i can do. I believed in myself.

I "think" Canada's education is slowling getting worse cause of money like you mentioned. My math and sentence structure isnt very good -_-

  • I never realy learn anything through jr and high school. The keep moving me around and keeping me in a class were you dont leatn new things that realy mattered. about a yr later when i started highschool,1 month and certain teachers thought i wont get any better, so they stuck me in a stupid class to keep kids behind, and you have to be there for 2 yrs. i fought againts it in different ways, then i went into cheff training course, i worked my ass off, and then went to college...

  • Everything is going according to plan. If you really want to see what it is like to be an intellectual grab yourself some difficult books and read. As far as the technology is concerned, I am afraid that information is off-limits as it is a tool for the powers that be, and it will not be made accessible to the public. However, discoveries are being made and shared. I think we would be best to focus on helping eachother and being nice since progress as to make life enjoyable in the moment.

  • very true what teacher Susan Lebold said I know first had that it is never about the quality of education it is always about MONEY!!!!!!

  • hopefully Obama will do something about this

  • Not only should Obama do something, but all of us as Americans. We must all stick together in this supposed "crisis" and start helping each other out. If you don't need help, then find someone who does and help him/her.. For the nay sayers, shut the fuck up if you're not going to have a positive attitude about America's future. Negative attitudes lead to negative results.

  • It's not about negativity, it's about freedom. Americans reserve the freedom of NOT getting caged in a socialist society.

  • usa needs stupid american.

they believe in cheap propaganda easily.

    White house "I want you!"

  • Public school teachers have no reason to force children to learn. They have a communist union that protects them.

  • you are putting blame on the wrong thing. After I graduated, the no child left behind act was enacted and school couldn't get money if kids failed. Instead of teaching kids, they lowered the whole standard and lowered the bar. Now kids are graduating illiterates. Bush's so-called no child left behind act is another scam to dumb down our American children.

  • bah hahahha, too bad for them!!

  • uhh, keep playing warcraft. Adults are discussing. kthxbye.

  • lol how the hell did I find your ass here. You just a negative person dude. Go kill yourself.

  • This video explains our education, But you know if someone has fun while they are doing something they learn better and it just sticks in their head. So I don't really know how we can motivate anyone. Then there's the things you probably aren't going to use so you'll probably forget it. I learn more myself at home than school, The schools are fucked up regularly like a lot of things...

The schools don't teach much compared to how much else there is to know.

  • AHAHAHHAHA fucking idiots they havent learn anything? WHOS FUCKEN FALT IS THAT?

  • Save Ferris!

  • our education system isn't bad. it's just that nobody's motivated. i am currently a junior in high school in a school of around 11,000 people. i only see around 5 people a day who actually care about their studies. i took my psat's today and i was one of maybe 150 who took it. the other's have no plans to go to college. 1/3 of students drop out and i am so mad that people don't care that their actions now will impact the rest of their life.

  • Because of the lack of competition. Students dont care about their education 'cause nobody cares. Schools teach them to graduate, not teach them to go to college.

  • Yeah you know what really sucks about American Education I could go to school and FAIL EVERY CLASS for the first three qaurters then ACE the last quarter and PASS the WHOLE YEAR.

  • Thats not a problem. Thats ok. Problem is people are too stupid to know that they have to study even if they can as you say ace the class. Most people study for grades not for knowledge.

  • America is a FUCKED SOCIETY, ITS FILLED WITH DRUG ABUSERS AND ASSHOLES, LOOK IM NOT A NEGATIVE PERSON, I DONT SAY THIS IN PUBLIC I AM A HAPPY PERSON IN LIFE, IM JUST SAYING AMERICA IS JUST NOT WHAT IT USED TO BE, I AM REALLY THINKING OF MOVING TO AN OTHER COUNTRY REAL SOON.

  • neat same with me!

  • dude i havent learned Shit last year. and partialy its beacuse my school dont teach me anything new and justs teaches the same thing every year. for instance, there are 700-800 kids in my school. 95% of them dont know what NATO or NORAD is. and 62% diddnt know who hitler was. menwhile were all obsessing what Xto the third power divided by negetive 87 times D7 plus N minus 45b equals...... thats also a question on my homework so if anyone has the answer let me know :)

  • wow, I graduated hs in 2000, and i thought it was very low level. I mean, sure everything is what you make it, but come on, I would say 50% of the students just figured out how to get by with out really knowing anything.

  • Students will always claim they haven't learned anything, largely because their recollection faculty has been poorly developed. They learn to remember facts only when they know they're going to be asked about them. In an outside context their response isn't there. As an analogy, the same stumbling block occurs when a foreign language student can't speak a word in a conversation despite having studied it for years. Almost everyone is like this.

  • Even if a student is indifferent about academics in their personal lives, they can compartmentalize and get serious during class. It's done by everyone in college. That's not the problem. Teachers must be experts in the subject(and the level) they teach. Then they can have confidence in their own methods of teaching and also provide the cognitive support for students who are 'dumb'. Teachers must also motivate by stating the purpose of education: to graduate and move forward in life.

  • I see
