  • i'd want to hide too, if someone was sticking a camera in my face and wouldn't shut up even when i made it very clear that i didn't want to deal with them D=

  • according to Gupta, 20% of kids with autism have insufficient secretory IgA to fight bugs or properly digest food.

    10% have none.

    I was in that 10%

    but I feel very lucky

I learned that before antibiotics, kids like me just died.

but when I because immune to antibiotics in my 20s, I learned most with primary immune deficiency lived on antibiotics until around 30 then died. but by the time that was to be my lot, there was real treatment for it.

  • whilst only 20% of kids with autism have primary immune deficiency (ie low or no secretory IgA) a starved brain will lack B vits, calcium-magnesium and omega 3s which all help manage stress. Without it, the foundations for filtering incoming information won't start and the sensory chaos is extremely challenging.

  • He has low IgA. I found out when he was five.

  • I was on immune boosters - wholly immune, earth dragon to try and switch me out of inflammatory state etc etc.. when the co-morbids were medicated IgA normalised all on its own. If you are interested to read how, look at Everyday Heaven where I wrote about it... good luck.

  • Thank you. We will need it!

  • this video reminds me of someone i knew around elementary school, mid, and high school. his name was ciber.. and everyday he would run out into our practice and tried to play ball with us... and our coach was considerate enough to let him practice with us... i knew him since i was like 6,..and he is probably the only person i was very compassionate towards, he was not only accepted into his own enviroment but he accepted the enviroment into his own..

  • Could be sensory. Light, sounds, too much social interaction, even the camera may be making an aversive noise. Occupational Therapy can really help sensory issues. A child blocking out the outside is often doing so because what's there hurts.

  • Hiding is so much easier than being overwhelmed by interacting. Mickie most likely would love to interact, but it is so difficult, overstimulating, and exhausting. He looks like a sweet kiddo, Mickie's Mom!

  • Why does he want to hide? I can only guess, but that there is something wrong in his world.
