  • Que rico! In my family the Potaje de Garbanzos we make it same as you except that instead of Jamon we use pork spareribs or chunks of beef, along with the chorizo, like to add calabaza, and col rizada along with the potatoes, and season with teaspoon comino, 1/2 tsp oregano, 1 bay leaf, salt and black pepper and Bijol for color. If we use the canned we boil the meats first til tender, then add the sofrito, spices, etc. and canned garbanzos. If from scratch boil garbanzo wit meat first :)

  • @nathanscooking Thanks for the compliment, your version sounds delicious also.

  • I just made it for my family and neighbor. Thay loved it and have asked me to please make another pot. It was great. Thanks. Just for info, I also added some salt pork, chunks of ham, a little bit of cumin and a little all season. Thank You Very Much..

  • @eighta2 You are very welcome. I am glad that you and your family enjoyed it.

  • looks good and fast however i am cuban and i notice you did not add no extra seasoning like; i usally add 1 table spoon of Complete Seasoning, 1/4 of cumin and 1/2 cup of MOJO, just to give it more flavor. what do you think?

  • Very good. Did you mentioned that these were canned garbanzos.. If you do it from the raw form then you should pressure cook it for a few hours to softend the garbanzos. So the cannned ones are ready to go. Thank you for your tutorial..
