This dog is probably motivated by a scent placed (of food ie; food spray) on the underside of this paper. That's why she practically attack her owner when he tries to take it away. Dogs don't have planning abilities. They do behaviors that are self rewarding - PerIod! I heard about this dog today from a Curator at a museum who swears the dog is involved in a "process". I know about dog behavior (studied) so if I could have, I would have told her that she didn't have a clue!
@Tori57 Nah, my cat likes to do this too. Digging on cardboard and plastic. I never though of using carbon paper to see what designs she'd make though. Hmmm maybe I should. Though being a cat she wouldn't 'create' in front of an audience.

The same could be said about the human species, though I could point to an counterexample or two. Thanks for your comment, Tori57.

What a load of rubbish, the dog is not an artist. Its a dog scratching a piece of cardboard. Wake up people.

Doc seems to be trying to figure out what Tillie is doing, but interestingly doesn't seem to try to help her paint at all.
