  • What an incredible live performance that was

    listen to only the bass

    HOLY SHIT WHAT A LICK

  • Even when I want more to "Think" for than "FEEL" a piece of music I listen to this. But this is beyond me ability to Think...so, I listen with amusement mostly... maybe someday I will play music as such..at wich time I will neither Think or Feel as I will just allow the musc to FLOW. Now, where do I find a Stewart Holdsworth & Berlin to play with?

  • Magic! Thanks for posting this!

  • Wow, pre-moustache Jeff, nice!

  • The most I've enjoyed music out of almost all I've listened to.

  • I MEAN'T G

  • CHAD 4 KINK.....!!!!!!

  • The antidote to 'POPitis'

  • You should hear Lady Gaga's cover version of this.

  • This is brilliant <3

  • In middle ages they would burn at the stake for playing like that, but here they openly give a tribute to their master to whom they sold their souls

  • Weirdest time signature of all time. Been loving this stuff for 30 years.

  • Some said, "if you hear it, you hear it, if you dont, you dont".

  • Its all about Allan and Jeff ( at least this time!)

  • Comment removed

  • I LOVE THIS TUNE !!! CLASSIC !!!

  • I was 8 when I first discovered this band (thirty years ago). Have loved them ever since...

  • cool stuff... what kind of strat is Holdsworth using?

and I can't believe people argue about irrelevant lies, just enjoy the music.

  • All the idiots on this site who say Allan has no 'soul' should listen carefully to this and work he did with Gong. Listen then listen again..................yes!

  • Amazing! Thanks for posting this!

  • Somewhere in heaven miles is choking a white man just listen to the music teabaggers

  • I cut my teeth on Bruford and Holdsworth just leaves my jaw hanging. We all can't play like them but they sure give us a lot to work on and we do become better musicians because of them.

As for you self righteous Berlin bashers, here's a quote you would like:

“If somebody told me I had only one hour to live, I’d spend it choking a white man. I’d do it nice and slow.” Miles Davis

    What, no controversy?

  • @nonthere i wish miles could come back and choke glenn beck's sorry ass!

  • @TheBolillo310 This is why you libs have the well-deserved reputation of just being flat-out stupid. What the fuck does Glenn Beck have to do with any of this? Just shut the fuck up and listen to the music. Retard.

  • !!!

I've had "Feels good to me" since it came out (in 79~). Absolutely a GREAT piece of music. All involved are literally the BEST in industry.

  • Adoro esta época post prog rock de la tercera era de King Crimson,

Y la súper parecencia de Allan Holdsworth

  • Sounds ace to me. Great to hear what can be done with some talented people getting together - its so original - I love it. In my opinion Alllan Holdsworth has taken music to a different level.

  • Very well done guys!!

  • Fucking love British Prog.

    Bring it back lads!

  • Holly shit I believe I just messed in my chair. Where did you find this/??? THANK YOU for posting this. I was a huge fan of UK,Bruford Annette Peacock, Holdsworth Jeff Berlin. Thank you.

  • This is one of the best ensembles you can find around this time. It's sad that it had to be put on the shelf because, as Bruford himself put it, of the challenges of lugging around a Hammond organ.

  • Killer!

Thank you so much for posting this!

  • Wow, that was fun! this song sounds so much better live than studio, but the only live version I'd ever heard was the Bruford Tapes one, and they're all over the place rhythmically on that. This was a gem to come across - thanks for posting!

  • is this on any studo album???

  • @seb2112

It's on Brufords Feels good to me !

  • This song is so beautiful and amazing. I start rolling my eyes at .42. Too bad this song is named after the guy who invented child molestation....Bruford's band was the best. About as good as it gets. This and Zappa's band.

  • 0:56

  • I really dig Bruford's drum kit and Holdsworth's guitar sound from this particular era.

  • @Yarsh52 ive always hated bruford band live sound --no (discernable) dynamics and hence nuance. Ive always thought they were best in studio.

  • @dwilmer7 I've always had a thing for Bruford/Holdsworth live, especially during their brief period in U.K. Anyways, I think the keyboard in this band tends to be really awkward, but that may be just me. I'm not trying to dis on Dave Stewart because he is a great musician, but the sound is off to me.

  • @dwilmer7 Is your name Richard, because you are a real Dick! They sound better live than studio or at least the same. Most bands suck live because they can't reproduce the same studio sound. I have seen Bruford's band and other Bands he has played with and he always delivers! What could you posibly be listening to?

  • @kahuna553 dude calm the fuck down. your opinion or no opinion huh?

  • @dwilmer7 So you are a DICK without an opinion!

  • This is kick A.

  • Reminds me of a Mahavishnu joint.

  • This tune kicks fucking ass.

  • Berlin is a marvel on electric bass, he has made a major and influential contribution to playing and education nuff said !

  • why DO people dis on Berlin? what I've seen of him is great

  • @mightyafrowhitey he's a racist bigot asshole. I have no respect for that redneck piece of shit

  • sick.

  • exelente linea de bajo..

  • @pleased9 I don't think so

  • Jaco didn't kill himself. He got the shit kicked out of him, and died from it.

  • wow. I just read about that on wikipedia. I didn't know you could kill a guy and only serve 4 months in jail for it. wow. Nice to know we have such a great country.

  • @TruthSurge It wasn't murder, it was just recklessness. The bouncer was just too aggressive. He had no intention or motivation to kill Jaco, that's why he wasn't convicted for murder...

  • @Parvenu333 That's why this world sucks. You never truly know what someone intended or not. So, justice is never truly met. Many people have been convicted of murder and later exonerated via DNA testing. Oh well. Never get plastered and pick a fight with a bouncer I guess.

  • No worries, I got it from one of the other videos

  • Can anyone shed some light on the date of this?

  • One of the best groups of talent ever assembled - in their prime.

  • Great video of my heroes !!!!!

  • Why the fuck you speak about Jeff Berlin about that???Are you crazy or what?

    Why people hate him??

He's a great musician and a great teacher too.

He tells the truth about music industry and music schools, that's why people hate him.

Please stop saying he's racist. That's just bullshit.

    Sorry for my english.

  • @freebassist I think people find him arrogant and irritating because he becomes instantly dismissive of other's opinions. He believes his reality is ALL that counts and his responses to people are belittling.

To use other english, he's an ARROGANT PRICK.

  • I think Allan Holdsworth and Bill Bruford are from a place called Planet Skill, which is billions of light years away. Jeff Berlin and Dave Stewart are both really talented as well. I don't care if people hate Jeff Berlin either, but it's all about the music. A lot of musicians have bad qualities about them, but as long as they make good music you should be happy, right? I highly doubt any musicians character sullies the enjoyment of his music. It isn't like everybody knows him personally.

  • allan is trying so hard to hold back the crazy licks he has

  • If you morons could actually play, you wouldn't waste everyones time with a lot of pernicious rumors and hearsay!

You'd be busy working on your craft and not on your crap! I've met Jeff Berlin many times, a good friend of mine took lessons with him, he's no racist! Where do you get this crap, and what gives you the right to vent about people you don't even know? Shut the hell up! Get a hobby! Learn to do something constructive with your time, and not clog the net with poop! What utter idiocy!

  • What's this about Jeff being racist? Maybe he commented on the fact that why the hell does every bassist have to be black to work in the music industry these days?

    That's the racism.

  • from that ignorant statement you just proved you are dumb trash. that was just one of racist statements Jeff made. fuck him

  • then he has the nerve the smile in the face of David Sancious to get a gig. I don't see how this guy sleeps at night. As much as I love his bass playing he's truly a piece of shit. If Jeff happens to read this he knows what he said

  • Then I have an idea - don't watch his videos and keep your stupid fucking comments to yourself!

  • What's amazing about this band is the SONGWRITING!!! Bands of music school grads endlessly soloing over inane chord progressions are a dime a dozen!

These songs are very well constructed and written HARD BEAT JAZZ with rock influences! Themes, middle sections, intros and outros - WHAT A CONCEPT!!!

Dream theater and other bands really need to listen to this and improve their wretched songwriting.

Nobody has done this before or since!

  • @tacomadc bruford, yes and king crimson had crazy minds and wrote the music they liked, as opposed to (in my opinion) genesis, dream theater and tool who try and write complex music for the sake of it

  • How so? Please provide evidence before making an accusation like that.

  • well its true. Search on Google for a few minutes and you will see I am correct. Jeff is a beast on bass but he wasn't much of a man. It doesnt matter because you will remain in denial anyway

  • No. i dont' worship Berlin. I don't worship anyone. I will search the Internet. But for YOU to say that I will NEVER change my thinking or not acknowledge something that is the truth, supported by fact and hard evidence, then YOU are in denial. You don't even know me.

  • I dunno man....I was just slobbering over UK a minute ago, but Bruford's band WAS really, really tight. What can you say? This was a really great time for music.

  • the blending of jazz and rock is such a cool sound, especially when it's fusion jazz and prog rock

  • It is too bad that music appreciation has died with the assault of capitalistic frigging "Pop" music. By the way, I just read that Alan Holdsworth is self-taught!! Anyone know who inspired him?

  • @hartistry1957 I believe most of his influences where jazz musicians, I believe his biggest inspiration was John Coltrane.

  • Sick!!! even today it's still innovative.

  • Thanks ! good movie !!!
