I'm sorry. It just doesn't work here. First off, the problem with a remake of THIS movie, like with Halloween, is that the originals set a standard that has been copied time and again.

Some people might think CGI will make this movie better, but I differ. The last few remakes I've watched play more as sequels than "new takes on an old story". Yes, it may have Barker behind it,which might work for the story, but it will never capture the magic of the originals.

I view Hellraiser I and II as one movie...cause they complete each other quiet well. part III uhmm had a few good moments but all in all i didnt like it. As far as nightmares go, H2 definitely takes the cake. They certainly don't make them like this anymore. My top 3 horror flicks are, An American Werewolf in London, Hellraiser 2 and John Carpenter's The Thing. All other's pale in comparison. That's just my opinion of course.

OK, there is a "plotline" - hospital, running & screaming, and the lament config and cenobites and doc channard etc. But what's the point? If you sit and watch H1 (which makes perfect sense), and then immediately jump to H2, you will see there is no story development at all, save it for Pinhead flashback which lasts for 20 second. It's an exploration of Hellraiser themes, like most of the rest of the series. It's a clash of many stories' loose ends.
