  • if my memory serves me right, i remember we rented a small but decent hotel in that area

[very clean and nice old/period bldg] . I remember that seafood resto... you can walk further and you can see the Eiffel tower and crepes vendor...[best weekend of my life...to see Paris briefly].

  • @NingasKugon09 Yup, I spotted several independent hotels in this area which looked okay to me. I just loved my first visit to Paris in 1993 and the time went so quickly! People don't realize, they ought to stay here a year or so, as people did in the old days. I was quite agog and my second husband got a bad cold here and I caught it when we left. The air is really foul. Did the tap water make you sick? It did me!

  • Your tours are such a great value, many thanks. It is so much more efficient to hire you guys for the day than to wait around for the Metro and try to navigate the city alone! I'm sure it is cheaper to pay you both for the drive and see free museums than to go around haphazardly and empty one's pockets piecemeal. Thanks from a long-time guest! I know why you shot this; just trying to give people atmosphere.

  • @SunShine8308 It frustrates me when people visit Paris and waste so much money! They'd be better off keeping some and having a blast on a special meal or buying something substantial to have shipped back home. Or even going home with cash in their pocket and good memories of cool stuff they saw just by walking there. The vibe was pleasant here. Total Sunday Paris afternoon!!

  • I would like to be good looking an have a motor scooter like the one in the vid with the big orange thingy attached to it, crusing the streets of Paris looking cool.

  • @valhala56 Dangerous streets but yeah, I hear ya!

  • I'm guessing the brick building is an early 20th century infilled building after one of the old Haussman-era buildings burnt down. It's probably got a steel structure.

  • @Ape65 Could be! The world's first totally cement house is near me in Saint-Denis but may be gone by now. It had been abandoned long ago and was owned by a wealthy industrialist. I consulted to ArcelMittal for steel and that was darn interesting. I also consulted for Vinci Construction. You'd probably love a chat with my spouse, but unfortunately, he hates everyone and has no friends. He's taught me a lot about architecture!! xo

  • @Ape65 I meant ArcelorMittal.

  • ? Lisa, where was this?

  • @abelardinexile Near Boulevard Raspail. If you want, I can check with my spouse to remember the street name. The movie theatre has been here for decades. He remembers going there in the '80s. Montparnasse. bises!
