The audio was recorded along with the video, its just that I had to put the video together with the audio later because I recorded the audio through cubase and the video through my camera. I couldn't quite match it to be perfect.

Well it has a general porpouse preset for recording vocals and such which is sort of a tube preamp but it's mostly for guitar.

You can just tell crystal-clearly where Petrucci's influences come from in this solo. Like, this just screams David Gilmour, but in my opinion, Petrucci outdid Gilmour. This is incredible! It's nice when a talented guitarist can just.... slow things down and play from the heart. And of course, this applies to the guy who did this cover! Good job bro! Soul playing is hard to recreate, which you just did. Kudos

The fact that your playing 4 years is the most amazing part. Im playing 11 but for the first 8 years or so I never studied theory, didnt have the internet and never took lessons so I just played what I figured out myself. Eventually I hit the wall and opted to go and study theory and learn from the masters. best thing I did. Keep them videos coming bro!

I recorded it directly through my Pod XT and I put it together with the track with mixcraft or audacity, I can't recall but it isn't that relevant because the only thing i used it for is to put the track together with the recording.

I've been playing for about 4 years now.

now about your cover, you just need to work on it a lot until it sounds right and all the notes can be heard in the correct timing.

just sit and practice each part slowly with a metronome.

in terms of feeling try to listen to petrucci's feeling in this solo and learn from what your'e hearing.

on top of all that I would suggest you play it with a backing track, music in the background I'll send you the backing track via private message.
