Computers while China has improved it is a marginal player at best. How does Lenovo compare with other more established makers? Computers while China has improved it is a marginal player at best. How does Lenovo compare with other more established makers? If it weren't for the russians selling you SU-27 back in the early 90s PLAAF would be at least 10-20 years behind of where they are right now. The problem with China is that they don't do a terribly good job protecting intellectual rights. You don't sign contracts to license produce aircraft and then proceed to make copies of them on the side like you did with the Russians SU-27.

So that doesn't hold in China so they have to reregister in China. So some chinese company can register the patent as their own in china even though it is validly foreign.
