Anyone who appreciates songwriting respects the work of The Beatles, Bacharach & David, Paul Weller, Morrissey & Marr and many others. Beautiful songs like this never age and their craft is as relevant today as when they were written. One can only learn the art of songwriting by knowing the best of what went before. This song is one of the best.

I was there at that night at Royal Festival Hall in London. It was recorded and was later on BBC radio, (Burt was playing the with BBC Light Orchestra) I am a big Bacharach fan and I can't help thinking that Burt knew that Noel couldn't carry this off as he did 'his' version earlier in the concert.
