It always looks so hokey IMO when they attach big pieces of knee armor to the knee block. I mean, you bend the knee on MG GP01 or MG Strike and the whole knee armor just kind of dangles off the knee...
What kind of paint do you use for the eyes because I've never built a Master Grade Gundam model before so far I've only been building MG models of the different GMs in the gundam series. I'm what you would refer to as a cannon fodder fan.
Very cool Is there a more articulate version of this one out today?
I love 0083 series too i wish they remade 0079 to look like that one.
well they did do a re animation of it now that i think of it, but it was for The Playstation 2 game Journey to jaburo, but it was not the complete remake just some key parts that make up the cutscenes. its here on you tube.
Well there is a Perfect Grade kit of it, but that is much larger.
Also, Journey to Jaburo didn't have the GP series in it, I think you mean Encounters in Space, which had only the key parts of the plot from space. It technically didn't have this Gundam, but a permanent alternate verstion, the GP-01Fb.
I never said the GP was in it...all i said was I wish they remade 0079 to look like 0083, then i went on to say that, they did re- animate parts of 0079 in journey to jaburo- those scenes look cleaner/better than the original series animation, i think you misunderstood..:) The perfect grade must look amazing though.
Cool video. I love 0083, and so naturally one of the first MG models I bought was the GP01 (Fb). However, I was unaware at the time I bought it that it was such an old kit. So, when I put it together, I was slightly disappointed with it. It looks good (even though I didn't really detail it), but posability was poor, and I couldn't get the thing to hold any of its weapons properly. I'm really hoping that MG Ver 2.0 models will be released for the whole 0083 line someday.
i actually like the GP01FB better than this but their essentially the same thing...but the series is for sure one o fthe best...great review of this older MG kit
Those models are quite a bit better in overall quality than the Fb, on account of the Fb being a much older kit. From what I hear, the Zeta Plus kit is far better than the old original MG Zeta and almost as good as the Ver 2.0 Zeta. The color scheme is also really cool, similar to the G3 RX-78-2 Gundam. The Rick-Dias is just an overall decent model, but it does seem better than the MG Fb, so good choice.
Don't forget "0080: War in the Pocket". Short, but very good. My order for best UC OVAs would be 0083 as my favorite, then 08th MS Team, and then 0080.
Does it came in the greeny- white color like in the older kits?

does this kit stay together well or does it fall apart?
thedaftant 2 months ago
im kind of ticked that bandai hasnt given us a gp01/fb 2.0, and i agree 0083 is hands down the best in the UC era, unicorn rivals it though.

I agree. I like this one better than the FB version. Don't know why, I mean, I like the FB, but there's something about this one that I really like.

Man, wish they gave you a solid core block so you can display the core fighter and the mobile suit.
Or maybe for their 30th anniversary, gundam can release all of their core fighters in one set.
