Now verse 11 says : And the smoke of their torment ascendeth up for ever and ever: and they have no rest day nor night, who worship the beast and his image, and whosoever receiveth the mark of his name.
Did u get that?. for ever and ever.
- Again you fail at comparing Hitler to God. How do you justify Hitler's actions, after all didnt God make us?. Matthew 12 : 31 says whose ever sins against the Holy Spirit will not be forgiven right?.
Everlasting fire for the devil and those who oppose God
@bioflex12 Well you are free to believe what you want to. As I've stated before, the words (aion/aionios) for "forever" such as in Revelation 14:9-11 can be literally translated as "age" which is a period of time with a start and an END, it can also be seen in the sense of quality, an eternal quality having nothing to do with time at all. As for Matthew 12:31, I think it just means one will be punished for blasphemy...it doesnt mean God wont forgive them in a general sense for all literal time
-Again do you realize that Jesus didnt just die. He now has the key of death and of hell. His resurrection assures us that even though we die in our flesh now, he is able to raise us up at the last day.
- Now read Matthew 25 : 41 - Everlasting fire prepared for the devils and his angels. Now u do realize that even though the devil influences us to do evil things we are the very ones that do them, so why do u think he deserves a much worse punishment than us. He does not.
- In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. This marks the beginning of time. Before then time really didnt matter. That is why Jesus said all who believe in HIm would receive eternal life. That means it is a period where time as we know now is not observed.
- Jesus takes away the sin of the world. He takes the sins of those who want Him to, those who believe in Him, those who acknowledge him as their savior. Not just anybody, Read John 3 : 16
Matthew 25 verse 41. 41 Then he will say to those at his left hand, 'Depart from me, you cursed, into the eternal fire PREPARED for the devil and his angels
FORGET HELL MAN you can twist scripture to help your idea but the truth is in the bible , fact is there is a ETERNAL FIRE Call it what you u like your wishful thinking will not save you man. REPENT PEOPLE this dude will not save you when you get there. He just wants to sound important
@driffterr Actually the fact is that the word for "eternal" there is "aionios" which doesn't necessarily mean eternal at all. It can pertain to the ages or it can be qualitative (like saying because God is "eternal" only he can give "eternal" punishment). So you mistake temporary punishment and correction for eternal punishment due to our english translations
Also how do you know that I am "twisting scripture"? Is there some way to prove what is and is not the divine intention of scripture?
@SotoBaggins I agree, this word can be used with a "temporary" perspective if the author intends to, but also keep in mind this word can also mean everlasting when it's used in a proper context such as referring to a Deity. To assume that hell is not everlasting because this word can mean otherwise does not negate the existence of Hell
@driffterr But how do you know this a proper context? How do you ever really know for certain what the author intended, yet alone (and more importantly) what God intended? As far as I can tell, its a big guessing game so if I'm going to guess, I will guess that an eternal place of torment is probably not something a God of love would create. I also dont negate the existence of "Hell", I just dont see it as a literal place where people are tormented for literal eternity. Thats disgusting
@SotoBaggins the Hebrews viewed the concept of time differently than westerners view..perhaps that is how Greeks also viewd time x When the Hbrws say "ages of ages" it's eternal in their understanding vs English language forever and ever. which both are correct for the meaning of eternal. It's hard to see a Loving God punish so harshly, but God sees the world differently, and he hates sin, and how he will deal with sin, it may not be logical to us but to God it is 1of us will be right one day.
@driffterr Some scholars say that, others say the concept of literal forever is practically absent from the bible. I think its interesting though that you are talking about this like eternal torment is just a fact, and we have to accept it. No one knows whether it is or isnt, otherwise there wouldnt be room for debate lol. It would be like debating whether gravity is useful or not.
@SotoBaggins hmm i mightn't found the smoking gun. Joh 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have " everlasting" life.. The same Greek word is used here for Everlasting as "aionios" .. My question is, in this context, Why would God give us a "temporary" life if he doesnt want us to perish, ... why do it in the first place if it's only going to last a short time?
@driffterr From my perspective, "everlasting life" doesnt have much to do with the afterlife, but rather describes a quality of life here and now. In john 17:3 jesus says that eternal life is to "know God", so to me its about having a relationship with the divine here and now, not necessarily immortality in Heaven. Therefore to "perish" is to be "lost" (another way to translate the word apollumi) in ones sins apart from the divine nature, as opposed to eternal torment in a literal place
@SotoBaggins i've never heard it explained this way.. hmm but what it's most important is having the relationship with the Father.. the rest will follow.
You should just make a short video that says "The reason Hell is false is because I have invented my own religion and it doesn't include a Hell. At least then you'd be honest.
@SotoBaggins Actually I just saw your lame video on the side bar of another heretical video. Trust me, your argumentation doesn't merit any "trolling".
@gtrjunky *sigh* still cant give Jesus' attitude of love and acceptance a try, can you? Just gotta berate everyone that doesnt agree with you for all eternity? Jesus would be proud
@SotoBaggins Actually I just saw your lame video on the side bar of another heretical video. Trust me, your argumentation doesn't merit any "trolling".
@SotoBaggins Actually I just saw your lame video on the side bar of another heretical video. Trust me, your argumentation doesn't merit any "trolling".

nono not at all i cant say you are or not cause i dont even know if you can prophesy,any way about matthew 7;15-20 the trees mean people,now the good tree bears fruit good fruit and the bad tree bears bad fruit,anyway at the end of this parable jesus says that the tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire, wouldnt that fire be hell?? or whats your interpretation???
@ANOINTEDWORKZ Would the fire be Hell? Probably, but not the "hell" of mainstream christianity. I see the fire as trial that transform our being, that burns away the parts of us that are not God-honoring. God himself is called a "consuming fire" (Heb 12:29) so the very nature of any fire, even a fire of judgment is essentially good and I would say in love since God himself is love.
@ANOINTEDWORKZ Some people seem harmless and/or helpful but in reality show in their lives that they and their message or fake. Thats what I get from it. But my guess is youre bringing it up to say Im a "false prophet" or something?
I have an idea for you, for a video. 10 made-up beliefs that "Traditional Hell" doctrine use to support their beliefs.
(1) The catchphrase "sin against an eternal being requires eternal punishment" - Biblical?
(2) The children-opt-out idea, "It's only after you reach the age of 7 years, that a child can choose, so before that they go to heaven, but after they go to hell" - Biblical?
Also see Plato's influence, check out his doctrine of hell!!
I think you are someone with whom I would love to sit and have a good cup of coffee and great discussion. Unfortunately, the types of arguments that you are arguing against are very sophomoric. So in effect, you are just building straw men and then knocking them down. If you really want to wrestle with these issues, then I would recommend reading theologians of our day that Love God and think well. I would suggest James B Jordan, Peter Leithart, and Douglas Wilson.
Sorry to spoil your vid but if you look closely at the Bible you will see that hell does indeed exist and is eternal punishment where your immortal soul burns and is punished for eternity, See for example: Mth 23.33, Luke 16.23, James 3.6, Mark 9.45 & 9.47, Mth 5.30 & 5.29, Mth 23.15, Luke 12.5, Mth 5.22, Mth 16.18, Mth 11.23, Luke 10.15, Rev 1.18, Rev 20.13, Rev 20.14. Also see Mth 7.15, "Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep's clothing but inwardly are ravenous wolves.
Wow, this video has more holes in it than my grandpa's tighty whities. If you look at the passage where Jesus mentions Gehenna, He makes a distinction between the garbage dump and the eternal Hell, by saying that "THEY'RE FIRE IS NEVER QUENCHED AND THEIR FIRE NEVER DIES". This video is pathetic because you did not arrive at these conclusions by merely reading the bible, it came from another outside source.
@gtrjunky Yeah, the alter fire in Leviticus 6:12 is also said to be "not quenched", but my guess is its not still burning today thousands of years later ;)
@SotoBaggins Leviticus says nothing of the sort, you just twisted that passage and made something up to cover up this foolish and perverted interpretation.
@SotoBaggins I thought about making a video response about 10 reasons why you're wrong but there's only 2. 1.you don't know the scriptures 2. you don't know church history
All the information you recite is from an outside source, not the bible.
@SotoBaggins You can't be that IGNORANT I know. First of all, Jesus Christ is making the comparison in describing Gehenna (a "constant" place of burning of trash) to what Hell is... A constant burning of souls. Of course Gehenna the place NOW is no longer around, but for those of us whom STUDY and UNDERSTAND we get the "picture" that HELL IS A PLACE OF CONSTANT BURNING. STOP LETTING SATAN USE YOU. REPENT OF YOUR SINS. FOR SATAN WANTS *YOU* TO EXPERIENCE ETERNAL HELL. JESUS CHRIST DOES NOT.
@LPATWILLFILM Well that interpretation can and has been made. But im suggesting a different and Id say more sensible one. One that doesnt over literalize Jesus' symbolic statements
@SotoBaggins But, see that is why you are a very DEVILISH person and allowing SATAN to use you. We are NOT ever to put our little stinky "spin" i.e., "interpretations" on THE BIBLE -- THAT'S GOD'S WORD. What we are to do is to READ and RECEIVE. The Holy Ghost will bring REVELATION and UNDERSTANDING. But, when MAN starts trying to "interpret" The Lord Jesus Christ's words -- You are doing THE DEVIL'S WORK. Straight up dude -- REPENT and ask THE HOLY SPIRIT to lead you into THE TRUTH OF GOD
@LPATWILLFILM haha, okay? And how exactly does one NOT make an interpretation? Do you really think Jesus meant for every one of his parables and symbols to be taken 100% literally? How bout when he tells us to gouge out our eyes when we sin? Im assuming your eyes have caused you to sin and yet youre somehow able to read what Im saying. So in the very least you have "interpreted" his words in a non-literal way in at least one passage. So why are the Hell texts excluded from such?
@SotoBaggins Haha!!!! See, that is where you are WRONG! The Lord Jesus Christ truly does MEAN LITERALLY if your eye causes you to SIN -- "pluck it out" or if you had causes you to SIN "cut off" as He says LITERALLY "it is better that you enter into Life maimed" than for your "whole body to enter into Hell." See, you want to THINK he means this symbolically but THE LORD means this LITERALLY. It is better to as you say "gouge" out your SINFUL eye, CUT OFF your SINFUL hand than to be LOST TO SIN
@SotoBaggins Haha!!!! See, that is where you are WRONG! The Lord Jesus Christ truly does MEAN LITERALLY if your eye causes you to SIN -- "pluck it out" or if **your hand** causes you to SIN "cut off" as He says LITERALLY "it is better that you enter into Life maimed" than for your "whole body to enter into Hell."
@SotoBaggins Because by THE POWER OF THE HOLY GHOST WHOM SANCTIFIES ME -- IT IS HE THAT "CUTS OFF" THE EVIL NATURE OF MY FLESH BY WAY OF HIS POWER... Something you obviously no nothing about since you are truly under Satanic power and control and warreth against the SAINTS and an ENEMY OF THE CROSS OF JESUS CHRIST and operating unabashed in a Spirit of Confusion and Deception.
@LPATWILLFILM Soooo...then its not literal but metaphorical, even though you just said it was literal? Hmm. And really you can stop with the satan crap because honestly you dont know anything about me or my faith. I have a very real relationship with the spirit of Christ and you have no place to judge that
@SotoBaggins I am sure you have a relationship with CHRIST... THE COSMIC CHRIST. THE NEW AGE CHRIST. THE ANTICHRIST. But, obviously NOT with THE ONE TRUE CHRIST -- THE LORD JESUS CHRIST OF THE BIBLE. And, don't "interpret" my words... I said it is LITERAL and honestly if it was NOT for the Holy Ghost (whom "cuts off the ways of the flesh") you best believe I would cut off my hand which has offended GOD! But, PRAISE YE THE LORD FOR THE HOLY GHOST WHICH DESTROYS THE FLESH -- THE GRACE OF GOD!
@SotoBaggins I said it is LITERAL and honestly if it was NOT for the Holy Ghost (whom "cuts off the ways of the flesh") you best believe I would cut off my hand which has offended GOD! But, PRAISE YE THE LORD FOR THE HOLY GHOST WHICH DESTROYS THE FLESH -- THAT IS THE GRACE OF GOD IN OPERATION! Oh, and I have a place to "judge" it for you are judging THE LORD HIMSELF to say that HIS WORD is 'interpretative' and that what HE SAYS HELL IS -- You dare JUDGE HIM and say it is not! Yes, I JUDGE YOU!
@SotoBaggins And, I JUDGE YOU GUILTY! I judge you a SERVANT OF SATAN (i.e., 'the spirit of christ') ha! That is the SPIRIT OF ANTICHRIST in you! Call upon the NAME OF THE LORD JESUS CHRIST and REPENT and be ye saved! Hell is REAL and HIS WORD IS TRUE. Stop letting the "spirit of christ" mislead you right into HELL! For the "spirit of christ" is NOT THE LORD JESUS CHRIST and it is NOT THE HOLY SPIRIT. Wake up young man. Satan is deceiving you big time. REPENT!
@LPATWILLFILM hahahahah...and I suppose its impossible to consider that YOU are the one being deceived, right? Just everyone you disagree with? Funny how thats always the case with you fundamentalist types...
@SotoBaggins How can I be deceived when I have THE HOLY GHOST, MY FRIEND, MY COMFORTER leading the WAY? That's it I can't be deceived. For The Lord Jesus Christ says that THE HOLY GHOST will lead and guide us into ALL TRUTH. And, that if it were possible that the very elect would be deceived. But, the operative word here is "if it were possible" meaning IT IS NOT POSSIBLE FOR THE ELECT OF THE LORD JESUS CHRIST TO BE DECEIVED. :)
@LPATWILLFILM Well Id say I have the "holy ghost" too but since I disagree theologically with you, you deem that I dont(and obviously you are the authority on such matters). What a narrow mind you must have...thinking God only indwells the people who agree with you?
@SotoBaggins THE LORD JESUS CHRIST IS THE AUTHORITY ON ALL MATTERS. And, yes I AM NARROW MINDED -- For The Lord Jesus Christ says that: "MY WAY IS NARROW." God ONLY indwells the people who AGREE with HIM. For THE BIBLE says: "How can two walk together except they be agreed?" It is you that DISAGREE with THE LORD JESUS CHRIST therefore you do NOT walk with HIM and are at odds with HIM. That is why you are ARGUING AGAINST HIM and HIS WORD and REFUSE to ACCEPT HIM & HIS WORD AS TRUE.
@LPATWILLFILM Hate to tell you this bud, but disagreeing with your interpretation of the Bible is NOT the same as disagreeing with the Bible itself. But sadly it appears you are incapable of differentiating the two
@SotoBaggins That is why it is clear you do NOT have the indwelling of HIS HOLY SPIRIT. And, you KNOW you don't and that is why you can't say you have the HOLY GHOST. Because if you did, you would NOT be at odds with THE LORD JESUS CHRIST nor HIS WORD for it is THE HOLY GHOST that would lead you (if you had the indwelling of HIM) into ALL TRUTH that JESUS CHRIST AND HIS WORD -- THE BIBLE IS TRUTH, THE WAY AND THE LIFE. You can't say that because you do not belong to The Holy Ghost nor GOD.
Matthew 7:5 Thou hypocrite, first cast out the beam out of thine own eye; and then shalt thou see clearly to cast out the mote out of thy brother's eye.
@gtrjunky: Please open a concordance, for the cross was a stake. Please open scripture and realize whom the Tribe of Gad is, the very ones you mock. You bare your thorns n thistles so openly christian.
1John 4:20 If a man say, I love YHWH, and hateth his brother, he is a liar: for he that loveth not his brother whom he hath seen, how can he love YHWH whom he hath not seen?
@MinisterQuietBuck I have one and I use it often. I don't recall ever seeing anything in God's word saying that telling someone else that they are wrong was known as "hate". I guess you're WRONG!
@wesleyman3 lol, I have a better camera now where the quality is much better video and audio wise. its on my page as the video after this "everyone goes to heaven" or something
This is just optimistic wishful thinking! What are we saved from if there is no hell?
Hell is just because of people like Hitler. I don't hold to most are eternally damned! I understand where you are coming from but face it, there are some people who want nothing to do with God's grace and mercy and are choosing hell!
@jacksmack77 No, that is just your opinion. It doesnt matter to me if only ONE soul was eternally damned...the Jesus is NOT the savior of ALL as the bible says. I dont think there is anyone on earth that doesnt want Gods grace, the problem is most are currently blinded by sin. But God can and will heal them of it...Im sure of that much
@jacksmack77 There is something broken within you. Something the bible did to your childhood. To you mind. I pity you. Your concept of life saddens me. Though.. nothing will clear the curtains from your eyes.
Revelation 21:8But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.
second death with fire and brimstone? thats the concept of hell is it not? the lake of fire?
the second death is also refering to
romans 6:23 For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord
@l9mmljoe its used in support of "hell", but unlike most I think the lake of fire serves a good, chastising purpose. God doesnt merely punish out of wrath, but also love. Hebrews 12:6 "because the Lord disciplines those he loves, and he punishes everyone he accepts as a son."
and yes, the wages of sin is DEATH....NOT "eternal torment". Theres a big difference
Your wrong about that. that death is eternal hell.
Matthew 25:45-46 45 “He will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did not do for one of the least of these, you did not do for me.’ 46 “Then they will go away to eternal punishment, but the righteous to eternal life.”
@l9mmljoe it says that because english translators steeped in bia and tradition translated the words that way. the greek word there for "eternal" is "aionios" which is very much debated among scholars as to what all that means. Without getting into that whole argument though, it seems most if not all scholars agree that "aion" and "aionios" do not imply eternity as WE think of it today...it is too complex a word to be translated simply as "eternal".
I really wish there was no eternal Hell. But the thing is I believe God would have the power to get every point across in his word that he wanted to get across. I don't believe God is limited in these aspects. Also a holy a righteous God would condemn people to hell. If he did not then he would not be righteous.
lets say someone Robbed you and your in court and the Judge said. Ill let you off because I'm having mercy. you'd probley think thats nonsense but thats the same with
God. If God just lets humanity slide for there sins he is NOT righteous hes no better then a criminal! Thats why Jesus Died for our sins. The wages of sin is death.
Because of those sins we EARNED hell. Jesus died for our sins so we would not have to suffer eternal hell. By him dying for our sins we no longer deserve Hell. If the consequence of everyones sins was chasetening then why even die if there eventually going to come to you anyway? He died because he knew
that we were going to go to hell if he didn't pay the price for our Sin's.
He offers that as the Gift of God Romans 6:23 Eternal life. how can you say eventually we'll go to heaven after being punished if we reject the gift of God? The GIFT of GOD is ETERNAL life. Once we accept that Gift we have eternal life. Its offered to us today. By you saying we go to heaven after being punished for our sins DEFEATS the purpose of a gift. You cannot force a gift on anyone.
@l9mmljoe well I just got done telling you that the greek word for "Eternal" does not simply mean "eternal". Aionios is more than describing time it also describes that which comes from God, so it is qualitative as well. The weymouth new testament uses it that way sometimes like matthew 25:46 where it says "life of the ages" and "punishment of the ages".
and who says the gift has to be "forced" in order for everyone to choose it? thats just what you assume.
I'm sorry if God says Gift I kind of assume he means what a gift means to us. I don't believe in double meanings. I believe God works through what he says not what we want it to say
@l9mmljoe What I mean is, just because its a "gift" doesnt mean that everyone will not accept it in time...I mean, why wouldnt they? Why would some people conciously reject Gods gift of salvation in favor of eternal suffering? Think about it...REALLY think about it, it doesnt make any sense. The only way such a theory can be reasonable is if you envison every non christian on the planet as cross burning, satanic monsters. I tend not to think of people like that however...
Jesus died for your Sins and provided a complete way of salvation for you, why do you still sin? I mean its always a free choice you choose to make everytime but you still do it. and where in the bible does it say you will always have time to accept?
Hebrews 9:27 And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment:
I'm sorry but it says right there the truth. If we all will accept it in time no matter what they why preach the gospel? its pointless
Ill take it a step further. why did Jesus command us to preach the gospels to all nations if we all will accept it? I mean if that were true then my living life means nothing. anything i do or try to do for Christ is pointless. you simply believe that?
@l9mmljoe lol so youre not going to answer my question? okay then. I think he told us to preach to all nations because it is Gods will that some come to him now to be the first fruits of his kingdom, while the rest will come at a later point when "every knee shall bow and every tongue confess"'s. And just because salvation is not on the shoulders of you the christian (and thank God) doesnt mean what we do is pointless...people need to see the love of christ TODAY, dont they? I think so
If the word for eternal was not traslated right I guess theres a chance we don't have eternal/everlasting life. Maybe its for a time then God throws us away. If you believe in mistraslations like this then complaints like this can occur and people can twist his promises. People also say 1 John 5:7 is not in the bible so i guess God is not a trinity? Gods love i Guess could of could not be everlasting
@l9mmljoe sure thats a possibility, but do you really think thats the case? I dont. One theory is, like in matthew 25:46, it is decribing a certain period of time like in the millenial kingdom when some will be in the kingdom and some in the lake of fire. But none of that changes the fact that one day God will subject ALL things to himself and become "ALL in ALL" 1 cor 15:27-28. So at the very least, we will be united with and last as long as God does.
I just don't believe God would let the scriptures get corrupted honestly. I just feel going into the realm of saying the Bible got changed in that way ruins the whole purpose. I would not be able to even read my bible everyday if I knew Gods message was changed and i'd have no way of knowing which parts were. Thats why i take my bold stand on the bible is everything God wants it to be. I have faith God preserved his word exactly how he wanted it. don't you?
@l9mmljoe Well you do realize that in seminaries they pretty much show you how the bible has contradictions and how significant mistranslations of certain words can be...right? Research it, you will find its true. Most pastors dont even want to teach what they learn in seminary.
Even if you believe the bible in its original languages is "perfect" whos to say the translations we have today are? If translations didnt matter or effect doctrine why so many translations? think about it
@l9mmljoe "Have their 'part' in the lake of fire. 'Part'. Brimsone is theion/theos in the greek, meaning 'divine incense'. Brimstone carried the connotation of healing and purification. God is fire in the Bible/pillar of fire/burning bush etc. The lake of fire is nothing more than God's purifying presence. Note from the Bible that everyone goes through that fire, but the saved are not 'harmed' by it.
Matthew 25:45-46 45 “He will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did not do for one of the least of these, you did not do for me.’ 46 “Then they will go away to eternal punishment, but the righteous to eternal life.”
theres so many eternal, everlasting flames.
define all of these verses.why do they say eternal if it is not eternal?
Rev 21:8 then asked; "thats the concept of hell is it not? the lake of fire?" The answer is no. Death & hades will be thrown into the lake of fire. (Rev 20:14) It says, "The lake of fire is the second death." Interesting, yes? :-)
Also, you said the 2nd death is referring to Romans 6:23. Not true. That's just death. Also; look at what you quoted. Rom. 6:23 proves what the video is saying. Also; read Rom 5. Observe 18-20. All under Adam are sinners but under Jesus aren't.
why would the next part of the verse be but the gift of God is eternal life? gift is something worked for by someone else freely given to someone. How can the GIFT of God which i ETERNAL LIFE be forced upon someone?
Also the price tag of sin is death and you think its physical death?
Now verse 11 says : And the smoke of their torment ascendeth up for ever and ever: and they have no rest day nor night, who worship the beast and his image, and whosoever receiveth the mark of his name.
Did u get that?. for ever and ever.
- Again you fail at comparing Hitler to God. How do you justify Hitler's actions, after all didnt God make us?. Matthew 12 : 31 says whose ever sins against the Holy Spirit will not be forgiven right?.
Everlasting fire for the devil and those who oppose God
bioflex12 4 months ago

- Revelation 14 : 9 -11

U fail really hard.

SotoBaggins 4 months ago
@SotoBaggins I agree, this word can be used with a "temporary" perspective if the author intends to, but also keep in mind this word can also mean everlasting when it's used in a proper context such as referring to a Deity. To assume that hell is not everlasting because this word can mean otherwise does not negate the existence of Hell
driffterr 4 months ago
@driffterr But how do you know this a proper context? How do you ever really know for certain what the author intended, yet alone (and more importantly) what God intended? As far as I can tell, its a big guessing game so if I'm going to guess, I will guess that an eternal place of torment is probably not something a God of love would create. I also dont negate the existence of "Hell", I just dont see it as a literal place where people are tormented for literal eternity. Thats disgusting
SotoBaggins 4 months ago
@SotoBaggins the Hebrews viewed the concept of time differently than westerners view..perhaps that is how Greeks also viewd time x When the Hbrws say "ages of ages" it's eternal in their understanding vs English language forever and ever. which both are correct for the meaning of eternal. It's hard to see a Loving God punish so harshly, but God sees the world differently, and he hates sin, and how he will deal with sin, it may not be logical to us but to God it is 1of us will be right one day.
driffterr 4 months ago

My question is, in this context, Why would God give us a "temporary" life if he doesnt want us to perish, ... why do it in the first place if it's only going to last a short time?
driffterr 4 months ago
@driffterr From my perspective, "everlasting life" doesnt have much to do with the afterlife, but rather describes a quality of life here and now. In john 17:3 jesus says that eternal life is to "know God", so to me its about having a relationship with the divine here and now, not necessarily immortality in Heaven. Therefore to "perish" is to be "lost" (another way to translate the word apollumi) in ones sins apart from the divine nature, as opposed to eternal torment in a literal place
SotoBaggins 4 months ago
@SotoBaggins i've never heard it explained this way.. hmm but what it's most important is having the relationship with the Father.. the rest will follow.

You should just make a short video that says "The reason Hell is false is because I have invented my own religion and it doesn't include a Hell. At least then you'd be honest.

what do you meaan the hell of mainstream christianity?
ANOINTEDWORKZ 8 months ago
@ANOINTEDWORKZ Hell as commonly perceived in christianity: a place of never ending torment, separation and literal fire
SotoBaggins 8 months ago
nono not at all i cant say you are or not cause i dont even know if you can prophesy,any way about matthew 7;15-20 the trees mean people,now the good tree bears fruit good fruit and the bad tree bears bad fruit,anyway at the end of this parable jesus says that the tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire, wouldnt that fire be hell?? or whats your interpretation???
ANOINTEDWORKZ 8 months ago
@ANOINTEDWORKZ Would the fire be Hell? Probably, but not the "hell" of mainstream christianity. I see the fire as trial that transform our being, that burns away the parts of us that are not God-honoring. God himself is called a "consuming fire" (Heb 12:29) so the very nature of any fire, even a fire of judgment is essentially good and I would say in love since God himself is love.

This video is pathetic because you did not arrive at these conclusions by merely reading the bible, it came from another outside source.
gtrjunky 11 months ago
@gtrjunky Yeah, the alter fire in Leviticus 6:12 is also said to be "not quenched", but my guess is its not still burning today thousands of years later ;)
SotoBaggins 11 months ago
@SotoBaggins Leviticus says nothing of the sort, you just twisted that passage and made something up to cover up this foolish and perverted interpretation.

gtrjunky 11 months ago
@gtrjunky well thanks for your opinion.
SotoBaggins 11 months ago
LPATWILLFILM 8 months ago
@LPATWILLFILM Well that interpretation can and has been made. But im suggesting a different and Id say more sensible one. One that doesnt over literalize Jesus' symbolic statements
SotoBaggins 8 months ago
LPATWILLFILM 8 months ago
@LPATWILLFILM haha, okay? And how exactly does one NOT make an interpretation? Do you really think Jesus meant for every one of his parables and symbols to be taken 100% literally? How bout when he tells us to gouge out our eyes when we sin? Im assuming your eyes have caused you to sin and yet youre somehow able to read what Im saying. So in the very least you have "interpreted" his words in a non-literal way in at least one passage. So why are the Hell texts excluded from such?
SotoBaggins 8 months ago
LPATWILLFILM 8 months ago
@LPATWILLFILM Okay, so have you LITERALLY obeyed that by cutting off any bodypart thats caused you to sin? If not, why?
SotoBaggins 8 months ago
@SotoBaggins Haha!!!! See, that is where you are WRONG! The Lord Jesus Christ truly does MEAN LITERALLY if your eye causes you to SIN -- "pluck it out" or if **your hand** causes you to SIN "cut off" as He says LITERALLY "it is better that you enter into Life maimed" than for your "whole body to enter into Hell."

LPATWILLFILM 8 months ago
@LPATWILLFILM Soooo...then its not literal but metaphorical, even though you just said it was literal? Hmm. And really you can stop with the satan crap because honestly you dont know anything about me or my faith. I have a very real relationship with the spirit of Christ and you have no place to judge that
SotoBaggins 8 months ago
LPATWILLFILM 8 months ago

But, PRAISE YE THE LORD FOR THE HOLY GHOST WHICH DESTROYS THE FLESH -- THAT IS THE GRACE OF GOD IN OPERATION! Oh, and I have a place to "judge" it for you are judging THE LORD HIMSELF to say that HIS WORD is 'interpretative' and that what HE SAYS HELL IS -- You dare JUDGE HIM and say it is not! Yes, I JUDGE YOU!
LPATWILLFILM 8 months ago
REPENT!
LPATWILLFILM 8 months ago
@LPATWILLFILM hahahahah...and I suppose its impossible to consider that YOU are the one being deceived, right? Just everyone you disagree with? Funny how thats always the case with you fundamentalist types...
SotoBaggins 8 months ago
@SotoBaggins How can I be deceived when I have THE HOLY GHOST, MY FRIEND, MY COMFORTER leading the WAY? That's it I can't be deceived. For The Lord Jesus Christ says that THE HOLY GHOST will lead and guide us into ALL TRUTH. And, that if it were possible that the very elect would be deceived. But, the operative word here is "if it were possible" meaning IT IS NOT POSSIBLE FOR THE ELECT OF THE LORD JESUS CHRIST TO BE DECEIVED. :)
LPATWILLFILM 8 months ago
@LPATWILLFILM Well Id say I have the "holy ghost" too but since I disagree theologically with you, you deem that I dont(and obviously you are the authority on such matters). What a narrow mind you must have...thinking God only indwells the people who agree with you?
SotoBaggins 8 months ago
LPATWILLFILM 8 months ago
@LPATWILLFILM Hate to tell you this bud, but disagreeing with your interpretation of the Bible is NOT the same as disagreeing with the Bible itself. But sadly it appears you are incapable of differentiating the two
SotoBaggins 8 months ago
@SotoBaggins WRONG AGAIN! I am not like you... I have NO INTERPRETATION OF THE BIBLE. IT JUST IS. GOD SAYS IT. I BELIEVE IT. THAT SETTLES IT.
LPATWILLFILM 8 months ago
@LPATWILLFILM Ohhhh....righhhhht....
SotoBaggins 8 months ago

Revelation 21:8But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.
second death with fire and brimstone? thats the concept of hell is it not? the lake of fire?
the second death is also refering to
romans 6:23 For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord
l9mmljoe 1 year ago
@l9mmljoe its used in support of "hell", but unlike most I think the lake of fire serves a good, chastising purpose. God doesnt merely punish out of wrath, but also love. Hebrews 12:6 "because the Lord disciplines those he loves, and he punishes everyone he accepts as a son."
and yes, the wages of sin is DEATH....NOT "eternal torment". Theres a big difference
SotoBaggins 1 year ago
@SotoBaggins
Eternal punishment? please explain. 2Thessalonians 1:9
9 They will be punished with everlasting destruction and shut out from the presence of the Lord and from the glory of his might
why does it say this?
l9mmljoe 1 year ago
@l9mmljoe it says that because english translators steeped in bia and tradition translated the words that way. the greek word there for "eternal" is "aionios" which is very much debated among scholars as to what all that means. Without getting into that whole argument though, it seems most if not all scholars agree that "aion" and "aionios" do not imply eternity as WE think of it today...it is too complex a word to be translated simply as "eternal".
SotoBaggins 1 year ago
@SotoBaggins
Ill let you off because I'm having mercy. you'd probley think thats nonsense but thats the same with
l9mmljoe 1 year ago
@SotoBaggins
He died because he knew
l9mmljoe 1 year ago
@Sotobaggins
that we were going to go to hell if he didn't pay the price for our Sin's.
You cannot force a gift on anyone.
thats my view.
l9mmljoe 1 year ago
@l9mmljoe well I just got done telling you that the greek word for "Eternal" does not simply mean "eternal". Aionios is more than describing time it also describes that which comes from God, so it is qualitative as well. The weymouth new testament uses it that way sometimes like matthew 25:46 where it says "life of the ages" and "punishment of the ages".
and who says the gift has to be "forced" in order for everyone to choose it? thats just what you assume.
SotoBaggins 1 year ago
@SotoBaggins
I'm sorry if God says Gift I kind of assume he means what a gift means to us. I don't believe in double meanings. I believe God works through what he says not what we want it to say
l9mmljoe 1 year ago
@l9mmljoe What I mean is, just because its a "gift" doesnt mean that everyone will not accept it in time...I mean, why wouldnt they? Why would some people conciously reject Gods gift of salvation in favor of eternal suffering? Think about it...REALLY think about it, it doesnt make any sense. The only way such a theory can be reasonable is if you envison every non christian on the planet as cross burning, satanic monsters. I tend not to think of people like that however...
SotoBaggins 1 year ago
@SotoBaggins
If we all will accept it in time no matter what they why preach the gospel? its pointless
l9mmljoe 1 year ago
@SotoBaggins
Ill take it a step further. why did Jesus command us to preach the gospels to all nations if we all will accept it? I mean if that were true then my living life means nothing. anything i do or try to do for Christ is pointless. you simply believe that?
l9mmljoe 1 year ago
@l9mmljoe lol so youre not going to answer my question? okay then. I think he told us to preach to all nations because it is Gods will that some come to him now to be the first fruits of his kingdom, while the rest will come at a later point when "every knee shall bow and every tongue confess"'s. And just because salvation is not on the shoulders of you the christian (and thank God) doesnt mean what we do is pointless...people need to see the love of christ TODAY, dont they? I think so
SotoBaggins 1 year ago
@SotoBaggins
@SotoBaggins
Here's my interesting point for you.
Gods love i Guess could of could not be everlasting
l9mmljoe 1 year ago
@l9mmljoe sure thats a possibility, but do you really think thats the case? I dont. One theory is, like in matthew 25:46, it is decribing a certain period of time like in the millenial kingdom when some will be in the kingdom and some in the lake of fire. But none of that changes the fact that one day God will subject ALL things to himself and become "ALL in ALL" 1 cor 15:27-28. So at the very least, we will be united with and last as long as God does.
SotoBaggins 1 year ago
@SotoBaggins
I have faith God preserved his word exactly how he wanted it. don't you?
l9mmljoe 1 year ago
@l9mmljoe Well you do realize that in seminaries they pretty much show you how the bible has contradictions and how significant mistranslations of certain words can be...right? Research it, you will find its true. Most pastors dont even want to teach what they learn in seminary.
Even if you believe the bible in its original languages is "perfect" whos to say the translations we have today are? If translations didnt matter or effect doctrine why so many translations? think about it
SotoBaggins 1 year ago
@SotoBaggins
Contradictions as in something going completely against another in the bible I do not believe. Prove to me theres one and ill believe you.

You wrote;

Incorrect.
why would the next part of the verse be but the gift of God is eternal life? gift is something worked for by someone else freely given to someone. How can the GIFT of God which i ETERNAL LIFE be forced upon someone?
Also the price tag of sin is death and you think its physical death?
