I like your optimism but this is naive. World peace hasn't been achieved, nor will it, because there will always be a variety of unsatisfied people, globally. There's going to be vast numbers of losers and a minority of rulers as long as people exist, hence, the childish competition of domination (akin to a leopard's spots) can never be neutralized. 1 in 5 sounds ridiculously conservative, too. Ultimately, humans are spoiled children that can't be trusted once out of sight of authority. No peace

Agreed. Peace within a capitalist society is an impossibility; capitalism and the free market breeds exploitation, waste and ultimately hatred from the inevitable majority who get the short stick. If anything it's a wonder there isn't MORE war throughout history when our societies based on something like this.

I agree that you can look back in history and see war, but you can also look back into history and see countries who have gone many many years without waging war, your totally off base here.

First off, the United states of America locks up 25 percent of the world's incarcerated population. Do you think that there is some sort of way for us to understand why that is? And the answer is yes my friend. And yes to the fact that WE, the People can devise of ways to overcome this fact, the same can be said of war.
The strategic use of science will eventually provide all necessities of life such as food, shelter, and clothing, with ease.
