TL;DR version: there are rules preventing REACTIVE counter-protesters (like the Youth for Human rights protest) from purposefully confronting the original (anon) protesters. Reasons ranging from civil rights, to basic safety planning should prevent the Scilos from claiming the same spot as Anon's protest, and planners should check up on these rules with local police, lawmakers, and ACLU groups.
Someone should look into past decisions regarding counter-protests designed to interrupt a march. I hate to bring them up, but previous court rulings regarding the KKK and Nazi marches being protected from counter-marches could be applicable here. Civil-rights marches from the 50s and 60s as well.

In Amsterdam they did the same thing. Scientology showed up first with a demonstration in front of their own church (consisting of just one man with a bunch of flyers). The police said Anonymous were not allowed to protest there because of this. Well, it shows..

When he called into the Scientology Center to ask some questions, he mentioned hearing about someone getting hit and the woman on the line laughed about the fact that he got hit. She wasn't exactly able to laugh after that.
The only time its funny when someone gets hurt is when it's done in a jackass enviroment to be honest. Otherwise things like that woman laughing at the guy who got hit by a bus was just wrong.

I agree....but when I was doing some quiet recon yesterday...when the SciFags were there, I did noitice this nursing home on the buildings top floor....Anonymous needs to be aware of this because it could be used against them in a court case down the road.

Regarding the events in Australia... Do some guerilla protesting. Infiltrate the CO$ rally with "counter-message" signs. Obviously, you'll want to follow in Australian laws regarding the event. Learn whether or not the "Human Rights" rally is a PUBLIC event. If so, as a member of THE PUBLIC you have a right to attend. Carry a sign condemning the Human Rights violations of CO$. This way you support the legal reason for the event while very subtly speaking against the events sponsor.
My friend you are indeed great in your opinions. Us in Australia will not be detoured by any half-held together front trying to stop our planes for a true demonstration on the 12th of April. On the most part, the police at the protest sites were very helpful, ie a cop at the LA picket line who was giving helpful cautions to the protestors. There's corruption everywhere, unfortunately.
I called them from the UK and emailed them to ask them why they were the most heavy handed police force against our protests in the world. Also was it true their police cheif was sacked as police chief in Dallas (it is). The DeKalb county police are not pleased with their lot at the moment, they don't like their police chief and they have an ANONYMOUS blog forum so they can sound off.
Don't get too sidetracked with Atlanta police. They're obviously in the wrong here, but focus on Scientology, and focus on keeping the protests peaceful so that if the Atlanta police have to arrest anyone or hassle anyone, they really have to reach for it like they did here. Their repeated bias and wasteful use of officers that could be helping someone elsewhere, and their actions will speak for themselves. Let some press know about it, but don't be distracted. It's what they want.
You're correct that we should not get side tracked. We can however deal with that and scientology; certainly my involvement in this has not stopped me being distracted, indeed this event has strengthened my resolve and redoubled my efforts.
The Australian protesters report that the Commissioner of Police denied the Youth for Human Rights permit, because it was an obvious attempt to disrupt Anonymous' peaceful protest! Instead, a couple of anon's signs highlighted Scientology's abuse of human rights.
I, too, was just amazed at the baton-tapping-on-thighs dance that the Dekalb police performed.
Didn't they have a big tornado in that area the evening before? What were "all the top brass" doing at a peaceful protest, rather than attending to the disaster area?
Surely there must have been SOMETHING better they could have been doing for the citizens of Dekalb county.

I can't really say what got into DeKalb County PD. I was at both 2/10 and 3/15 and they just DRASTICALLY changed. DeKalb has some really, really crooked higher brass if you look into it. They were probably paid off.
I was the "guy in red" who gave the first reading of the global speech, without bullhorn, and joined the guy at the end of the MUCH MORE AWESOME re-reading on the bullhorn. From what I understand, they had a close eye on me, and specifically pointed me out as being "too concealed".
The charges the two arrested anons are absolutely false, and would get LAUGHED out of court. "Protesting without a permit" when we were told by Lt. JAY SMITH of the DkCPD that we didn't need one. And "Creating An Unsafe Environment".

Be aware, residents of Georgia, that freedom of speech will not be suppressed. Reconnect will happen, and there will be those with a VERY strict eye on DkCPD.

As for what went on with the police! I watched and sat in shock at what can go on when mis-informed people who are there to serve us and failed, and failed big time.

I just got back from Scientology's website and I really nearly vomited. How could they spout just garbage? The next protest there is, I'll be joining. They filed counter protests in Adelaide and Sydney on the 15th, but it was an epic fail. I doubt they really want the embarrassment of being outnumbered by us anyway. Their application canceled our Adelaide permit, but we marched anyway with full support of police. Sydney did one better, and denied the YFHR a permit. All they could muster in way of opposition there was two illegally parked vans out the front of the org. Don't worry, we will continue to protest no matter what games they play.
How I understand the 1st amendment....tapping your horn in support of a cause, organization, ideology....is an expression of free speech. I bet the Atlanta courts are just gonna love all the dismissals they'll need to process. Talk about a waste of resources. Class action related to civil rights violations comes to mind. Another thing..there were also some other arrests at another picket (I think Michigan) for some guy using his sign for a mask after the police told them that's all they could use to cover their faces. When I heard his fellow anon had scraped together the money to pay for bail, I think my eyes welled up a little bit from joy. It's possible all the anon there don't even know each other yet they came together like that and helped him out.

Anonymous is creative enough to find some way around that little "obstacle" Scientology is trying to create with their own personal protest.
On the most part, the police at the protest sites were very helpful, ie a cop at the LA picket line who was giving helpful cautions to the protestors. There's corruption everywhere, unfortunately.

I called them from the UK and emailed them to ask them why they were the most heavy handed police force against our protests in the world. Also was it true their police cheif was sacked as police chief in Dallas (it is). The DeKalb county police are not pleased with their lot at the moment, they don't like their police chief and they have an ANONYMOUS blog forum so they can sound off.

Don't get too sidetracked with Atlanta police. They're obviously in the wrong here, but focus on Scientology, and focus on keeping the protests peaceful so that if the Atlanta police have to arrest anyone or hassle anyone, they really have to reach for it like they did here. Their repeated bias and wasteful use of officers that could be helping someone elsewhere, and their actions will speak for themselves. Let some press know about it, but don't be distracted. It's what they want.

I'm in the UK but I contacted them and the local press to comment.
Thankfully most other Police departments are more intelligent and less intimidating.

Didn't they have a big tornado in that area the evening before? What were "all the top brass" doing at a peaceful protest, rather than attending to the disaster area?

I can't really say what got into DeKalb County PD. I was at both 2/10 and 3/15 and they just DRASTICALLY changed. DeKalb has some really, really crooked higher brass if you look into it. They were probably paid off.
I was the "guy in red" who gave the first reading of the global speech, without bullhorn, and joined the guy at the end of the MUCH MORE AWESOME re-reading on the bullhorn. From what I understand, they had a close eye on me, and specifically pointed me out as being "too concealed".

They filed counter protests in Adelaide and Sydney on the 15th, but it was an epic fail. I doubt they really want the embarrassment of being outnumbered by us anyway. Their application canceled our Adelaide permit, but we marched anyway with full support of police. Sydney did one better, and denied the YFHR a permit. All they could muster in way of opposition there was two illegally parked vans out the front of the org. Don't worry, we will continue to protest no matter what games they play.

I'm not an expert on this stuff but I'm not sure how picketing Tom Cruises movies would help. Sure we might get some news reports and getting the word out is good but it seems wrong to almost shelve the blame on him. It might just make us seem like assholes to do it and we don't need that any more.

Another thing..there were also some other arrests at another picket (I think Michigan) for some guy using his sign for a mask after the police told them that's all they could use to cover their faces. When I heard his fellow anon had scraped together the money to pay for bail, I think my eyes welled up a little bit from joy. It's possible all the anon there don't even know each other yet they came together like that and helped him out.
