  • I'm surprised Stuart Townsend never became more popular. He's good looking and a good actor two qualities you need to have to become famous, and still he never really did.

  • was that sean connery?!

  • @Autipauti yes

  • bollywood super star amitabh bachchan could have played as captain nemo instead of the douche bag naseeruddin shah

  • So I guess it's LXG because nobody wants to see a movie called LEG?

  • great movie

  • Why did they not just ask Chuck Norris? don't say he was not born then because you all know he's as old as time itself.

  • @Xhalvia Go to google and type in chuck norris, one of the suggestions in the spelling box will say

"Chuck Norris Im Feeling lucky" click on it. when you come to the result page, click on the first result and then read the page

  • LOL this isn't a parody?

  • @SaigeAdriana yes?

  • I saw this as a kid and I loved it.. Now I have spend years trying to figure what the fuck it was called.. but finally!! YEEAAH!!

  • I was this as a kid and I loved it! Now I have spend a whole year trying to find out what this fucking movie is called.. but I found out! YYEEAAH!!!!

  • I FUCKING LOVE THIS MOVIE... that is all.

  • Never mind, I figured it out.

  • What is the name of the song playing at the beginning of the trailer?

  • The League Of Extraordinary Gentlemen (euphonium solo by peter graham)

  • sean connery was like an old indiana jones in this

  • i hate fast-cutted-trailers!

  • they should make a second one

  • this or van Helsing?

  • What's the name of that song that's playing throughout the trailer?

  • this movie totally rocks :D

  • I just got finished watching this movie and I have 1 word to describe it.

    EPIC.

  • The League is Set..The Game is on.

  • Does any one know the name of the song playing during the first part of this trailer? I been trying to find it ever since I saw this trailer and the movie, but I can never find it, and I'm starting to go nuts! Now I know I'm not the only one asking. In fact three others have asked (That I can see on this trailer.) If someone could tell us I'm sure that all those that have asked will stop asking for the name and if it was available on CD would even BUY the blasted album. At least I would.

  • @mogwi1988 Oh you need to do is lookup the Sound track on Wiki and find the title of the main intro if its on the soundtrack CD. Then if you know how to do Torrent

lookup League of Extraordinary Gentlemen OST Torrent to get it FREE!

  • @ACDCISCOOLNESS Wiki as in Wikipidia?

  • @mogwi1988 Yep. Look for the Original Soundtrack... Wiki in Google for short.

Hopefully that song can be found there. The torrents hard to find. The comics are out there they are cool..

  • @ACDCISCOOLNESS The first half of the trailer is on the soundtrack??

I got the soundtrack but I don't really remember it too well.

  • @ACDCISCOOLNESS also, do you mean the track "Dawn of a New Century"? where the text dialog appears in the begining of the movie?

  • @sparktank not 4 sure but when in doubt. Wiki, or even better yet Google is a good tool for the info.

  • haha..its a long time ago... capt. nemo in this movie reminds me the book dat i stole in my school library...hahha the title is 20000 leagues under the sea..i think..if i'm not mistaken...huhuhhu

  • Anyone know any other good movies like this that I can watch?

  • La meilleur bande-annonce du film !!! WOSH bravo!! Respect ...

  • i saw this when i was younger and i thought it was the best movie ever, the action was soo good and the story was easy to follow, but now that im older i can see the critics point lol

  • just saw this. LOVED IT.

but what did it mean, "their origins are unknown"? of course they're known, just read a book (Dracula, King Solomon's Mines, The Picture of Dorian Gray, The Strange Case of Doctor Jekyll and Mr. Hyde, The Adventures of Tom Sawyer, and 20,000 Leagues Under The Sea) The only one who isn't is Rodney Skinner, who stole the original Invisible Man's formula, but he never showed up in a book (I think)

  • Does anyone know the name of the piece of music between 0:10-0:45? I am asking because I really like that music. And, of course, this is a great movie.

  • The scene after "THE BAD" with the girl and the nazi... MY GOD that looked AWEFUL... Like a B movie shot of guys who've just discovered what a "green screen" is...

Apart from that, will buy the dvd some time soon to check it out..

  • ne1 knw the name of the song?

  • great movie. reminds me to wolfenstein

  • @kjsh987 Also has the surreal Hellboy look which also Kicks ass. Even though Hellboy was made by another group.

  • Mentlegen.

  • @jabazuiggi

    Fuck you

  • Please let me know the name of the begining song! PLEASE! it songs awesome!

  • Whats the name of the dramatic song?

  • i've heard about a novel called dr. jekyll and mr. hyde but the characters are the same with this movie! the writer must be copied(the characters) from the novel!

  • He copied ALL the characters from 19th Century novels, except for Dorian Gray and Tom Sawyer, they were added by the screenwriters.

  • Just because he gained the rights doesn't mean they are his characters. Hagard, Stoker, Verne, Wilde, Stevenson, Twain and Doyle are still their creators. Moore couldn't even get rights to the Invisible man, which is why in the mvie he's names Rodney Skinner instead of Hawley Griffin.

Oh yeah, and for Connery, the film made a great throwback to action of his James Bond days!

  • they kinda need to the end is totaly open

  • are they going to make a part 2

  • It would have been nice to see the story go on, but the original story's author is kind of a prima donna, and his whining that he couldn't even recognize his characters(which were never his to begin with) pretty much put the kibosh on any sequels, along with the fact that Sean Connery has retired from moviemaking.

But for his legendary career, this film was a worthy finale.

  • Brilliant movie, a must watch :)

  • It's On Right Now On FX

  • this movie was cool

  • I must admit this was not a great movie even though it had an amazing cast. I've definitely seen better adventure/action films

  • The vampire's name is Mina, is it possible that she's the same Mina that in Bram Stokers "Dracula" gets haunted by him? I mean, how many vampire-babes has the name Mina/Wilhelmina?

  • Yes it's her :)

  • She is Dracula's Mina. If you watch the movie they call her by her full name and she explains that she, her husband and a man named Van Helsing fought Dracula.

  • which is astray from the novel because in the novel it's "she and her husband, a man named Van Helsing and three other men named Arthur Holmwood, Quincey P. Morris and Dr. John Seward".

also Mina was never turned into a vampire it's just fiction/pop-culture like this film and a few others have her as one (for some reason)....

  • I think, technically, that the film suggests that by defeating Dracula, she absorbed his powers, but remains mostly human. Note that she can be exposed to sunlight, but never uses her powers at those times.

  • DrJeklly38......Have you even read the Bram Stoker novel "Dracula" ?

Because a vampire been exposed to sunglight (like you say Mina is in this film) without been destoryed is actually a reference to the Dracula novel.....Dracula isn't destroyed by sunlight (a myth Hollywood made up).

in the novel Dracula is weak when it's sunlight but he's not killed by it.

But Mina is not a vampire....in the novel Dracula bites her and forms a sort of 'bond' with her that is destroyed when he's killed

  • Thank you. But like I said, the film only 'suggests' that Mina gained Drac's powers... maybe even near-immortality, as her final battle shows!

  • did anyone else notice all the masonic and odd fellows symbols in this clip?

  • This trailer looks more bad ass

  • the problem with this film was that it didnt resemble the book which was very good

  • great action-adventure movie with characters from classic literature. i fail to see why such an excellent film tanked at the box office. maybe people are too fucking stupid to pick up a great book and read it.

  • It always seems like movie studios have the biggest difficulty when dealing with the transition from book to film.

I mean Peter Jackson, love the Rings movies or hate 'em, but you're not going to find another director who will put so much dedication to something that he genuinely loves.

I think most movie directors see a script and think, "Paycheck!" Instead of something that could be a cult classic or Oscar-worthy.

  • damn right. The glory days of Hollywood are long gone. Occasionally, you see a worthy movie, like "Somewhere In Time," "Andrew Lloyd Webber's The Phantom Of The Opera," "Bram Stoker's Dracula," "Mary Shelley's Frankenstein,"

    "Leo Tolstoy's Anna Karenina,"

"Valkyrie," "Bright Star" and several others produced these days, but sadly, these films are few and far between.

  • Tank nothing, by year's end the movie had grossed almost $200M at the box office. These days, any film ta makes over $100M is considered a blockbuster!

  • oh. Interesting. I didn't know that.

  • @ShakespeareHamlet You're absolutely right. The movie was so clever with all the famous literary characters...it just failed because these assclowns have never bothered to read the books. They're CLASSICS for godsake.

  • @somethingswicked This movie was a fun popcorn flick but it doesn't compare to th e depths the graphic novels went to to create the League's world.

Also I'm still pissed that Mina is a vampire in the movie and that she wasn't the leader unlike the graphic novels.

  • @ShakespeareHamlet

hum, because many things made no sense? The nautilus had an illogic form, the way hide saves the nautilus ( so he pulls a lever, and all of sudden all the water is drained while the whole ship is underwater? wth? nemo's soldiers standing up out of cover when being shot? Him and jekill saved by a convenient small passage? Oh, yeah, if you can see the coffee that the invisible man drink go down his throath, then you should see pretty much everything he has in his body)

  • @ShakespeareHamlet That's because the actual graphic novels made the movie look like shit lol.

Fuck this movie, Mina Murray wasn't a vampire in the graphic novels and she was the leader of the team NOT Quartermain. And why was Tom Sawyer in the movie?

  • @wyrmqueen

Sawyer is in it so that the film could appeal to American viewers.

  • @ShakespeareHamlet

That reminds me, everyone is whining about how the characters are underdeveloped. These are characters who have become popular from classic books. The flipping critics probably have never heard of these guys. They should go to a library, and get out King Solomon's Mines, The Adventures of Tom Sawyer, The Strange Case of Dr.Jekyll and Mr.Hyde, Dracula, The Portrait of Dorian Gray, 20,000 Leagues under the Sea, and The Invisible Man.

  • @ShakespeareHamlet

Exactly what I was thinking. In fact, I think the critics didn't even know these characters existed until this movie. Maybe they should go make a sequel anyway since it's pretty obvious why none of the brainless critics liked such an excellent film.

  • @ShakespeareHamlet no people are too fucking stupid to pick a book , read it and then make a mediocre movie out of it. the cast was good but the script was very weak. and im not a hater , ive watched it 2 or 3 times but it cant be compared to v for vendetta or any other film interpretation of Alan Moore's work. it was a bit nive if they had a better script and a director like Zach Snyder or Terry Gilliam then it would have been a masterpiece.

  • @romas1995 Terry Gilliam would have made it AWESOME!

  • @ShakespeareHamlet

Seriously, do read the comic. THAT was brilliant. The movie was a watered-down crapfest in comparison. But I have to admit, a guilty pleasure watered-down crapfest :)

  • So far, I figured out that the last part of the trailer, after Connery says "and the game is on", the music is from Time Machine. The track is "Morlocks Attack", but it's for a short time.

  • anyone know what music is in this trailer?

is it from the Time Machine soundtrack by Klaus Badelt, or is it the RipTide Music artists Gerard Marino/Logan Mader??

i been to a soundtrack website that lists the music, but im not sure which is which ?_?

  • Very interesting and catchy movie. Peta Wilson was hot here. She is very underrated as an actress

  • This is just like you people bitching about the Sgt. Bilko movie comparing it with the television series that it was adapted from and saying the movie is not as good bla bla bla although on its own the movie is excellent.

  • I could make a better movie in windows movie maker then this shit.

  • PROVE IT!

  • what a shitty ass movie! Ok this is nothing like the comics 1 Mina never had vampire powers 2 That looks nothing like mr hrde 3 Quartermain is supposed to be really skinny and addictid to drug 4 There is no imortal character in the books 5 there are only 2 guns used in the book: A elephant spear and a machine gun God what a bad movie
  • so the reason you think this movie sucks, is because the movie was not exactly like the comics? People like you are what destroy movie adaptations. Directors have to always adjust their movies to please the fagtard fanboys who will cry if they don't get what they want. Seriously thats why Spider man 3 did so poorly

  • no i dislike it because as its own movie it sucks and it is nothing like the book. If it wasn't league of extraordinary gentlemen it still would have sucked. Also i am not saying it is not exactly like the comics i am saying it is nothing like the comics. Read the comics then look at this and find me 5 good things about it.If you can find those 5 things, tell me.

  • Maybe you should read the actual novels each character is originally from before making ignorant assumptions about things.

  • it doesn't matter what they were in the other novels. They were changed for this novel(for better or worse). And then made shitty in the movie

  • Exactly paydafee. Same fate with Sgt. Bilko thanks to these anus face morons who are fanboys of the television series.

Steve was pretty demoralized in '96 when it tanked and spent three years in seclusion.

We have to thank these spastic dumbtards for doing this to him and flopping this excellent movie he acted so well in.

  • awesum movie

  • me too i fought it was good

  • i've never seen this movie, but it looks NOTHING like the comics

  • This movie was clearly meant for children. Shame, because the comic looks interesting.

  • i went and seen this in theatres and i believe its one of the best action type movies ive seen

  • Indeed, a lot more imagination ent into making this film than most action films you see these days. Earlier this month, it premiered on American Movie Classics.

  • this movie is awsum:P

  • I've never read the comics but from what I know of them they weren't aimed at 11 year olds, this film is. At least the movie adaptation of 'From Hell' was quite faithful to the comic.

  • I thought this movie was really good :S I have never read the comics so I wouldn't know what the would be like

  • what is the name of song the begin

  • No way. The film totally raped the comic. Tom Sawyer and dorian Gray were never in the comic and Wilimina Murray was not a Vampire. And they took out the Chinese overlord. WTF IS WITH THE CAR?!?!!

Just stick to the comic book.

  • how is the comic book in comparison with watchmen and v for vendetta?

  • It doesn't surpass Watchmen but its a good read. Its a good action comic.

This movie was terrible, totally raping the source material. Here's why:

    1. Mina didn't have vampire powers but she was still badass.

2.Quartermain is a opium addict washed up hero not some old james bond.

    3. Mr. Hyde was badass that he tore apart chinese henchmen.

4.The invisible man was Griffin, not skinner and he spent his time raping underage girls.

5.Nemo was more negative towards others.

  • have you read alot of alen moores comics?

  • And you think leaving that stuff in wold have IMPROVED the movie!? I read the comic and didn't like it much at all. If anything, the MOVIE IS AN IMPROVEMENT on the COMIC!

  • i quite liked the movie

  • i agree

  • what song is in this movie i want to know its pretty cool

  • i wish the scenes were on youtube

  • Silly movie, but entertaining nonetheless.

  • Yes very silly.

  • This movie was pretty cool.

  • james bond!!!

  • movie was great, trailer is cheesy!

  • I'm actually suprised they didn't make a sequal. The way it was ended, it looked like there would be.

  • Yes, but Alan Moore started b****ing that HIS characters(B.S.!) weren't even recognizable to him(and if you read the comic, that's a good thing). He whined to the press that he'd never let another of is comics be filmed. Guess he figured "V For Vendetta" on film was worth more money than his principles!

  • He didn't approve the making of that and asked that his name be kept off of it. Same with Watchmen. He was pissed. Both times.

  • Don't you hate prima donnas?

  • can someone please post the movie for this

  • Someone should do a vid of Mina to green days extraordinary girl. Great film

  • Sean Connery was AWESOME in this!

  • this sucks compared to the comic!

  • My favourite is Damian :P

  • you mean Dorian?

  • crap trailer

    amazing film

  • Read the Book and you will feel different.

  • did i mention the book?

    no just the film dude

  • No you didn't.

    I mentioned the book.

I take it back don't read it. Don't ever read it. :)

  • I did read the book, the movie's much better!

  • You know some people prefer baloney to steak An individuals taste is entirely subjective, Taste is also a good insight to the people who hold them.
