OFC when a game dies, there are many die hards that just don't give up, they've played the same maps for over half a decade, they are bound to get better, but games shift in popularity and the money follows, thus pro players must follow. join in sooner on the next big game maybe you'll be the next big thing lol. or stick w/ UT2k4 for the next 10 years lol.

iv never really seen this game as a good 1v1 game. for that i prefer quake or painkiller. i always play this for fun or as part of a team. UT99 was the first pc i ever bought, and definitely one of the best. but i just can't get into it for 1v1 competition.

what makes fatal1ty so good (apart from his skillz) is that straight away he scours the map and piks up all the guns b4 his opponent can. thats the advantage of knowing the map. hes good 2 watch
Lmao, this game isn't dead. The top 10 now owns the top 10 at its media's highest point. You didn't even consider trizz. Some of those names didn't get noticed that well because the game's skill lvl kept getting better at the time. Take quake 3 for example. 2002 fatal1ty isn't as good as 2007-08 fatal1ty. Its different, the skill lvl keeps rising.
I play it almost every day also, nowadays I play it and some COD2, I gotta reinstall FEAR combat soon, recently upgraded so gonna see what FPS I get in FEAR now.
Yeah since I've built a new PC I started playing some FEAR Combat, Battlefield 2, Counter-Strike 1.6/Source, bought Quake 4 a week or so ago and just today ordered the Unreal Anthology :)

It sometimes depends on the tourney and how many tourneys a "pro gamer" takes part in, I've gotten a # of high-end PC's and a couple grand from some lil game tourney's, but then for others grab 10 or 20K, even if not 1st place :D. I've seen Fat nab a 250K "big check", he's got plenty of publicity and all that though, I prefer to be INfamous & a bit of a "sleeper", ya know those cars that don't look too fast but then they wipe the floor with people.

Wow. Good thing Fatal1ty found himself another game. That was far from amazing. ZIGGY would destroy that. I saw no wall jumping, very little shock combo'ing, overall was a pretty mediochre performance from someone who is considered "the best gamer."
It's true that fatal1ty wasn't the best UT2k4 (or even UT2k3) player around, but it isn't pointless walldodging or standcombo spam that would have made him a better player. Many of the people here criticising fat's gameplay have absolutely no right to do so. The noobiest thing I saw was his abuse of dodge jumps and poor infight movement, but it hardly mattered against this guy.
I haven't heard of ziggy, perhaps you should see some demos of GitzZz, Burnie, ScrMz, GoHLinK etc.

Mean this UT04 vid he illustrates very nOOb'ish attribues IMO and he was clearly playing someone who is not adept at fps, the flawless victory says it all... hardly what I'd call a good victory!!!

I play it almost every day also, nowadays I play it and some COD2, I gotta reinstall FEAR combat soon, recently upgraded so gonna see what FPS I get in FEAR now.

Yeah since I've built a new PC I started playing some FEAR Combat, Battlefield 2, Counter-Strike 1.6/Source, bought Quake 4 a week or so ago and just today ordered the Unreal Anthology :)

@slyrbaby Day of the Dead: Source and America's Army 3 is much better than Call of Duty. FEAR is a kind of love-or-hate thing, and I hated it. Wasn't scary at all.

Lmao, have you seen the top 10, obviously not. Not saying good ol fat can't live up to ut pros these days but seriously even around the time he played this there were pros on ut04 that make this look "noobish" however fatal1ty obviously doesn't play ut04 enough. I don't really think he would just randomly be better than me either, not even the top 5 are that much of a stuggle, there online all the time. People like skaven and frantic for example, you should see there duel on roughinery.

LOL top 10? This games dead right now. Go back when GitzZz, Lauke, CC, devilmc, stryfe, astz, winz, falcon, forrest, all those people were playing. And even for the tiny time fat played he didn't even really compete. Fat could get good if he really wanted to, but hes a Quaker at heart. Frantic's good, but he's def not top 10 material when this game was 'active'.

Mind giving me the dates to those games... cpl isn't even that great, at least not in the past two years. Most of those are just major/regional LANs for certain areas. Some of those i've never heard of like the Salina LAN or the NGL, but your missing my point anyway. I didn't say he was teh sux or bad at this game, i said if you paired him against 1v1 vets and pros of today on ut04 judging by his past plays such as this video, there would be no chance for him, at least not a good one.

It sometimes depends on the tourney and how many tourneys a "pro gamer" takes part in, I've gotten a # of high-end PC's and a couple grand from some lil game tourney's, but then for others grab 10 or 20K, even if not 1st place :D. I've seen Fat nab a 250K "big check", he's got plenty of publicity and all that though, I prefer to be INfamous & a bit of a "sleeper", ya know those cars that don't look too fast but then they wipe the floor with people.

lol yeah, fatal1ty is undefeated, the worlds best, and he plays shitty. I must admit though he has never become world champion at ut2004, only several times in UT and UT2003, quake3, painkiller and doom 3.
If you think he is shitty then try to play him. He sometimes plays with anyone at events to put cocky noobs back in their place.

Wow. Good thing Fatal1ty found himself another game. That was far from amazing. ZIGGY would destroy that. I saw no wall jumping, very little shock combo'ing, overall was a pretty mediochre performance from someone who is considered "the best gamer."

It's true that fatal1ty wasn't the best UT2k4 (or even UT2k3) player around, but it isn't pointless walldodging or standcombo spam that would have made him a better player. Many of the people here criticising fat's gameplay have absolutely no right to do so. The noobiest thing I saw was his abuse of dodge jumps and poor infight movement, but it hardly mattered against this guy.
I haven't heard of ziggy, perhaps you should see some demos of GitzZz, Burnie, ScrMz, GoHLinK etc.

To say fatal1ty probably hasn't played an Unreal engine game, let alone UT2004, in a year or two, he played quite well, but compared to how he used to be he's pretty shit, and even then he would get devoured by some of today's top players - he wasn't even the best back then :p
PS: lanmaniac has some crazy sens goin on O.o
PPS: link shaft is actually good on shield, stops almost all movement. hitscan is near worthless, except headshots or placing shots outside of shield.

to be fair, there will be loads and loads of people out there that are far better at fps to fatali1y. Watching clips on youtube I found his matches both boring and lacking skill. Mean this UT04 vid he illustrates very nOOb'ish attribues IMO and he was clearly playing someone who is not adept at fps, the flawless victory says it all... hardly what I'd call a good victory!!!
Just prowel youtube there are far better clips of more talented fps players to fatali1y.
