Actually in regards to the gauges, I did not like trying to read the rpm in fifth or sixth gear. It was fun to watch the tact in lower gears revving up the onramp. If i am cruising in sixth, I might want to have to know what my rpms are down to, and thus a downshift. I am used to having my '95 stang run at about 2000 rpms (v-6 stock teal coupe).
I like the Sonic, with the radio that has the band selector in the middle. I would take a six/manual/turbo red or red tintcoat with tribal white 5 door. The seat is crazy good adjustable. I do not like the Ford Fiesta hatchback. However, Suzuki sx4 cross over has all wheel drive. Chevy replied to my email stating that they would take the awd idea into consideration.
So if it is an automatic why the tachometer? I would think an oil temp, water temp, transmission fluid temp or oil pressure gauge would be better for an automatic. The space it takes up could be better used for the aforementioned gauges or another digital display which could be used to display any of that information or even be used as a GPS screen.
@OdonnellChevyBuick It needs the rest of the gauges as they are so important , warning lights are a joke. It's an easy fix . The outside is fine, this is the best looking sub-compact from Chevy in a long time. With one tweek it could be excellent .
@artworkmetro my car is an automatic and has a tachometer. is it illegal for it to have one? some people actually know how to read one and some actually know what it means.
@naireland Plastics help make cars "go green." Their light weight characteristics help give cars better fuel economy. Even the largest and best airline makers are using plastics more and more every day. The EPA laws are forcing this use of this product as well.
@OdonnellChevyBuick Want to go green? Plant a fucking tree. Automotive Plastics are still petroleum based non recycled material so its false to call it green ABS Polymer is fine in MODERATION covering the entire damn car in it is ugh. There are equally lightweight material to create a cabin with. Hell even a splash of vinyl, pleather, or rubberized drape would be better than that cheap excuse of an interior.
@Joe4alb I have dummy. I had a 300zx, and I now have a 350Z Nismo package. All anodized aluminum interior, graphite console weave, rubberized dash and door panels. I have an RSX type S daily driver with all soft touch vinyl interior and leather stitching ha. No econo boxes
@naireland, Dude you are comparing a $15,000 subcompact car to an Acura? Are you serious. Ok Let me compare the Cadillac SRX interior to your Acura. Fair comparison? No. The Sonic is an entry level car with more standard features than any of ITS competitors (Fiesta, Fit, Etc). Not saying your cars don't have nice interiors but you need to compare apples to apples here.
@Joe4alb guess what an RSX is? An in expensive sub compact. Not all subcompacts are created equal. Cheapy plastic interiors vs better materials out of the same competition. Ergo a mini cooper or Fiat 500 is the same price range but doesn't load it up with plastic.
@wtl1964 I, personally, like the Cruze with its expanded features. However, if I were to drive more than 30 miles one way, on a daily commute, I would easily choose the Sonic. The Sonic ends up being much more comfortable and you'd experience less fatigue.
@wtl1964 Seems the quality of sound goes down, admittedly. Actual vinyl records still have the best sound in my opinion. CDs get worse and mp3s even worse yet.
I would get a blue one and name it The Blue Blur, or Speen Demon, etc. It will have to come with chili dog holders and choas emeralds in the engine to go Super Sonic made if the occasion arrives, no less. XD
Nice interior but that car is way too small for me. I would like to see that gauge in the Cruze though. The radio (sound) is not that bad but I have to agree it could look better. GM kinda dropped the ball right there.
@minicoopaman Actually they look just like a Cruze or Camaro key. Check out the 2012 Camaro video with me holding the key fob up. This one did not have an automatic trunk release or remote starter on the fob.
@minicoopaman Actually it looks like a Camaro key, minus the remote start feature. Check out the 2012 Camaro or even a Cruze video where I show the key. They are all similar.
Finally the first video to show the dashboard in action! I love to watch how the tachometer sweeps during heavy acceleration. Thank you so much for posing this. All the other video's to date are in the day time sitting idle on the lot or in the show room.
@INDY5QQ Appreciate your comment. We know visual and professional information is missing and we attempt to offer more. We hope you come back for more videos.
this will not end well if that song starts and you get into a mustang

@artworkmetro As you may know, this Sonic can be shifted in "manual mode." That is the reason for the tachometer. Thank you for your comments.
