Omfg..!! It makes me sad that I missed this. I would kill a man to see him and Ribot together. Hoist that Rag is one of my all-time favorite songs [and I listen to a lot of music..]
I love what he does with his songs in a live setting, often beefing them up or sometimes changing the arrangement entirely. This one in particular sounds great, as does that entire concert it was taken from. Easily one of the most brilliant and passionate performers ever.
His voice at the beginning when he speaks resembles The Joker's a lot. Ledger was allegdely a huge Waits fan, and it seems he has adapted some characteristics to his role from Tom. On a different note, Tom Waits is THE FUCKING SHIT! What a legend!
does anyone know the name of the waltz that they use as a bridge in this version? amazing performance of a great song! this live version finally got me into this song, thanks for posting
What a creep...I'd give anything to see him live :)

Tom Waits and Tom Waits LIVE are like two completely different experiences. Both magical and fantastic in their own way.

It's because I had a dream last night. I was wearing a flowery dress and we were dancing to this in a well lit graveyard.
Nobody will get the inside joke, mousy...

Tom Waits is not getting old, he's just getting more experience. Experience is not age, but quality.

I never stop wondering that voice of his. It's beyond everything a man's ear have ever heard. There's nothing to it, got to love this performer.
