Poaching is the result of not having a regulated hunting program. Support hunting groups like dsc and sci. Hunters have incentives to protect and grow elephant populations. Poachers not only impact wildlife, they create a hostile environment which negatively affects the local people.

This is becouse thay are sheep and cattle wild in a forest and the eco-nazis dont think thay should be there. Hunters pay to hunt these animals(cattle are illigal to take but are shot from helecopter by the goverment). When hunting licences required a conservation sticker to be purchised I became a pocher. Except I mostley onley scavange goverment kills. 1,000 animals killed 3mo to save 20 3oz birds.

We eat cows, Indians think we are stupid, and so on. Hunting and eating elephants is right and it should continue in a contoled way. Don´t just prohibit them and shoot poor black africans because you have the money to do it.

Zimbabwe´s CampFire program "gave" the elephants back to the comunities and populations tripled (yes +300%!). Same time-1977-Kenya banned hunting, elephants dropped 120.000 to 20.000
Despite best turism appeal & infraestrutcure Kenya failure was to "give" elephants to wealthy londoners, nyers & the lot (themselves "violently kill" cattle, chicken and fish)

Tsavo Park was the land of the Waliangulu(translate: "elephant hunters people"). They were taken from their land, killed, raped, put in jails & tortured in ways I don´t have courage to describe. A similiar YouTube video could show NYorkers "anti-poaching" money at work.

There might be lots of elephants PER CAPITA in parts of Africa, but worldwide, their population is down over 80%. To take a sentient being and shear off its face to make a few bucks is a travesty.

WRONG, the Washington Convention lists the African AND Asian elephant as endangered species (I think under section 1 A).
