thank you after seeing you do it i did it too my hair is shorter than yours but it came out great. i used to have issues with the ends looking a mess. the roller set solved that i did have to flat iron my hair after but it was way easier than it would have been without the roller set. love that you taught me to oil sheen the hair while in rollers that is so important thanks

In my opinion, if you're roller setting to protect your hair from heat, you're being counterproductive and causing damage by manipulating your hair so much with the comb and then using the flat iron. Try roller setting and sitting under a hooded dryer.

I liked the roller set bangs. It was a vibrant, youthful look that added so much more "wow" factor just because it was uncontrived and less diva-fied. You should test drive the roller set bangs when you're only doing errands and watch the compliments pile up. But it still turned out very nice overall.

You should try using the regular clamp rollers in the back. They do a good job at taming the roots. Although they do leave a bump, its not noticeable in the back.

It's not as bad to flat iron or blowdry your roots because they are less fragile than the ends, and at with at least me personally, I only flatiron the roots in the front, and I leave the rest alone and it looks fine. With a natural hair rollerset it's unrealistic to expect to really get the same results as with relaxed hair, but once you get good at it you can get quite good results without using heat if you're not particularly pressed about your roots.

i use a boar bristeld brush to get more even tention in my hair when roller setting my hair. instead of using your fingers for tension, either use a fine tooth comb or a brush to get the neater tension. it works. but it takes alot of practice to get it right.

if you alternate between hot and cold air under the dryer, it'll take a bit longer to dry, but it will be way shinier and you won't feel like you're baking & you'll be able to feel if it's dry or not when the cool air hits the water :)
