The concept of technique in Japan is very different that what is generally currently practiced in the west by the workers of any major corporation.
The western idea is to push the worker to the maximum capacity while documenting this performance. Eliminating jobs and increasing the work load for the existing employees. In this regard technique is pushed to an acceptable level.
@eyeweiss True indeed. But consider that Prof.Csikszentmihalyi is also not a native speaker :D There are accents hard to follow, such as typical Indian accents, but I firmly believe that Hungarian accents are generally easy to understand.
