  • is this Knife considered Assisted / automatic , Please respond

  • @KnifeFanattic No it is a manual folder.

  • Thanks for the great tips in this video. I have a new Mini Grip coming to me soon and I'm sure to use your cleaning technique.

  • do benchmade knives come with lock tight on the pivot screws?

  • @severzero No they do not.

  • Thanks for the Memo that this would void the warenty...

  • So what is the real different with blue lube products. Are you getting anymore with the cleaner verse the regular lube?

  • The Blue lube I have is both a cleaner and a lubricant. They do sell just a lubricant which I believe comes in a smaller bottle.

  • Ya but do you get any more uses with the cleaner versus the lubricant?

  • Sure... since it is both a lubricant and cleaner it saves you from having to buy two separate bottles. I don't use it on anything else but my knives and it has lasted a long time.

  • ok i get it know you get both cleaning and lubricating and the lubricant only has one.

Thanks. kinda stupid question on my part but i just wasnt 100% sure. Also does the cleaner have a bad smell to it?

  • Some people think it smells bad but I think it smells like coconut. I might just be weird though!!

  • Thanks for taking the time to do this vid. I've got several Mini Grips and this tutorial will definitely save me time and frustration in cleaning them.

  • No problem! Glad I could help. If you come across any problems while cleaning let me know and I can try to help.

  • what would be a good substitute for a dedicated knife lubricant? just got a mini grip and its fairly 'tight' in the handle, can open and close it just cant flick it open or anything.

  • Any silicone or wax based lubricant will be fine to use on your knives but DO NOT use WD40. Benchmade's are notoriously tight when you first get them. Try to work the knife in by opening and closing it a lot and see if that loosens it up without putting lubricant on it.

  • thanks for the help ill try loosening it up without. Whats bad with wd40? just curious xP was eyeing my 3in1 lubricant and wd40 yesterday and considering it lol.

  • WD40 is a degreaser not a lubricant. If you put WD40 on your knife it wont hurt it... it will clean all the debris off of it but it wont lubricant it. I use WD40 on my camping knives if I want to baton through a log... Put it on the blade and it helps the blade slide through... but make sure to wipe it off. Knife specific lubricant or silicone lubricant is always best!

  • good to know, thanks again!

  • No problem!!!

  • Actually, WD40 is a rust inhibitor. It can serve as a lubricant for a short time, but it's far too light to rely on.

An alternative would be something like Break-Free CLP.

Great video though, I'm definitely picking up one of these after my mini-Ambush jumped ship.

  • WHy dont use wd40?

  • Hey, thanx for taking the time to make this useful and informative vid. It was helpful and fun to watch, I will certainly check out your other vids and recommend your channel to my friends.

  • Thank you very much!

  • Rockin intro, Edgedweapon88. Great reviews, keep em coming!

  • Thanks for the kind comment!

  • have you ever taken the whole knife apart for cleaning? or do you usually just stick to this method of partly taking it apart? i've read instructions and seen videos of complete take downs but i imagine i might be too busy for that... so just wondering if this is good enough. thx!

  • I have taken it apart completely but found that the method shown in the video is sufficient enough. Taking the whole knife apart is time consuming and I dont want to risk hurting the Omega spring or any other delicate parts. I have cleaned my Mini Grip like this several times and it always seems to do the trick.

  • thx. i appreciate the really fast response! keep up the great work!

  • No problem. Thanks for the kind comments!

  • is blue lube food safe?

  • Im not sure.Why?

  • well alot of my tasks are food prep so i dont want to have to keep wiping off the oil and putting it back on

  • The blue lube shouldnt be on the blade. It should only be on the moving parts such as the axis lock and pivot. Once it dries it should be fine.

  • thanks!

  • Does the blue lube have a wierd smell to it?

  • I kind of like the smell but yes it is weird. It almost smells like coconut and oil mixed together.

  • nice video !!

    sweet intro

  • Thanks!

  • Excellent review! I appreciate it!

  • No problem!!

  • I actually JUST sent you a comment asking when you were gunna post another video. . lol how ironic this just popped up in my subscription box

  • That is ironic! I post a knife review every Tuesday. If I have any other videos I will post them randomly throughout the week.

  • Hey man ,
