What is he talking about. The reason for Red Bull and Brawn's succes is mostly because of two of the finest designers ever in Formula 1. Adrian Newey and Ross Brawn. The fact that everyone has started this season with a blank piece of paper has really shown what these great designers can do

@UltimateStewartFan14 There is only two races with right turns, they use tech from 30 years ago, super-ovals are boooring, and the technique to pass is called "bumping" because taking the inside line is too difficult on a banked turn. If it was the only form of motorsport (I use that term lightly here) it would be awesome but, unfortunately for them, there is real racing like Touring Cars, Sports Cars, F1, Rallying, etc.

When all you can adjust in car is your break bias and you have to control the 850hp car with only 1,500lbs of downforce while F1's have 4,000lbs? Come on..

There are a series. Most, if not all, start out karting. then they move up classes until they are old enough to get a driving licence. Then there is all kinds of stuff, the only one I really know of is Formula 3, and once they have completed that they move up to GP2, which is a step down from F1
formula 1 is much better this year. we're still waiting for a normal race, with normal weather on a normal track, i think we'll get that at Bahrain. i'm an alonso fan considering his improvement on last year's renault i think he's in for some wins this year. in Q2 at china the 15 cars were separated by 1 sec. the reason there may not be a whole of passing is because the cars appear to incredibly equal- considering each chassis is unique and this is not a spec series

Honda could not run the team anymore due to the financial crisis and after talks with all potential buyers (including richard branson), Ross decided to buy it. Red Bull is quick this season coz 1. Christian Horner has experience 2. they have adrian newey who designed the championship winning mclaren in '98 and 3. Vettel in my opnion is one of the next f1 great.
i think too vettel is bound for greatness. but i must say ross brawn is one of the greatest team managers in f1 history. he helped michael win at benetton than they brought ferrari to glory in 2000 which was the first driver's championship since 1979 and now he's doing it with his own team
i dont have cable so i cant watch any racing but if i had the ability to i would watch F1. for me i think the ability to turn right really comes in handy when im driving, so i would rather watch people that turn corners. i dont see nascar or cascar (the canadian version. and yes i am from Canada) very exciting because its just driving in a circle. thought if i could watch any racing i would watch touring car racing cause its like F1 but has cars that i could own.
schumaker is a nobody, the only reason he won championships is because ferrari simply had the best car, this year we're seeing real fights and race in the F1, cars are becoming more alike and the skills of the drivers are being put to test... you can see in schumaker's face he's not really happy, thats because he wasn't really fighting for it like when Senna was alive, Senna was trully the best racer ever and it's looking like it's going to take a while for anyone to match what he had.
there have been alot drivers through the years who have had the best team and car, but none of them continued their sucess for as long schumacher. personally i wish schumacher would return so i could see how well he does with the new cars but he would be far off his prime.
you're right Ayrton was the best. but i think you're wrong about shumi. ferrari didnt win him the championships, he won it for ferrari. that's why benetton fell to pieces when he left them and ferrari started their rise. he's a very technical-leading driver.

Not a bad review for an american show, (no offense but you guys usually dont have a clue about F1), I think Kers is a failure and in its current state is of no use to car manufacturers for real world use. Williams design is perhaps the most suitable for road cars.
Alonso was also running low fuel. He will have to pit on lap 8. The BBC has the fuel adjusted grid on its website. I think Alonso is 6th based on his fuel load.

My comment was directed to sapporo84. The margin of difference has narrowed in the last few years. American cars were never meant to be a lifetime purchase. We wanted people to get new ones every couple of years. The quality reflected this goal and in 1975 the fuel crises pulled the rug from under us and we have struggled since. Buyers are and not willing to spend the big money for quality so like all of us they are hanging on to their older cars. Like my 2 year old RS-4. Canada rocks..

The biggest diferrence that is making brawn's team win, are the diffusers, , brawn's toys have a 15% greater aerodynamic performance than the other cars. That is why winning is becoming easy for brawn gp. Now that is declared that these diffusers are legal, all the teams are working on it; but as Domenicalli says: "it will take time". Ferrari expects that this problem is solved by the race in spain, that is on 2 races, so until that, we will see brawn gp winning.
apart from talent alone you need to have a very perfect path laid in front you, which means 1)born in a racing family, 2)fully loaded with cash. If you don't have either of those factors. You will have you build your own fortune do as much race as you can and hope someone spots your talent before turning 40, otherwise leave this dream to your son/daughter. Button and Barichello are average drivers (in terms of F1). It's Ferrari's fault they have no points kimis car broke in both races and massa's broke in the first race. Thats a 75% dnf rate for the team so far. And IMO the best 3 drivers are Kimi, Alonso, and Hamilton, but none of them have a good car so far. And shumacher isnt doing anything

honda basically started seriously deving their 09 car after the first couple of races in 08. because the 08 car was a dog.. and because 09 has the most drastic aero regulation changes in recent f1 history.. this was obviously a huge advantage for them.. where was mclaren and ferrari were fighting till the end for the 08 championship.. therefore investing all their resources to make the 08 car better, and not focus on 09.. hence rbr, toyota, brawn/honda etc are at the top

The F1 series is at its best right now. We are seeing more cars with a chance of racing other than Ferrari and McLaren. This is giving more teams the chance to succeed. The only thing that F1 needs to focus on now is the fans. They need to stop making it so private and takes notes from NASCAR.

I love Formula 1. I agree with you guys abouts the kers system. They are not fully developed to what the teams wanted them to be at, and I think thats hurting them. If they did not have it in the car they would not be thinking about it, they would just be racing. They should keep testing the system and in a few years install it.
It's just as simple as Ferrari and McLaren didn't come with a competitive car. You have to keep in mind.. Braun isn't new to Formula 1. Every year Michael Schumacher won a world championship, Braun was behind the scenes on his team. Braun knows his stuff and will remain competitive. Michael is serving his last year now with Ferrari and I believe that next year he'll be with Braun again. That duo has proven many times to be bad news for the competition.
I think F1 is great. Ferrari has been down before, but they always come back, and if they come back THIS season, it could really shake things up mid-season. Until then, it's great to see Jenson beating Ruebens.
Also, Ferrari still has Schuey. Yes, he's not in the car, but he's taking the advising role that Kimi just can't do, and yet they're still suffering. It can't be as simple as the diffuser OR the kers system, so who knows what will happn. I LOVE F1 though, and it's exciting so far.

Americans like NASCAR because: 1) the cars are so simple that it doesn't hurt the Americans brain thinking about how sophisticated the technology to make the car is, 2) adding right turns to a track makes the track too complicated, 3) and the 63% of Americans that are overweight and out of shape can still drive a NASCAR. adcbty1235 said it best, "F1 is the pinnacle of auto racing."

The GENERAL American public doesnt like F1 because it wasnt created in the US, also the fact that there is almost no American presence and the lack of a GP in the states also hinders its success. It has nothing to do with the fact that its too "sophisticated" for Americans. People forget that Nascar wasnt always the premier American racing league because if CART never split, Nascar would never be as popular as it is now.

i dont have cable so i cant watch any racing but if i had the ability to i would watch F1. for me i think the ability to turn right really comes in handy when im driving, so i would rather watch people that turn corners. i dont see nascar or cascar (the canadian version. and yes i am from Canada) very exciting because its just driving in a circle. thought if i could watch any racing i would watch touring car racing cause its like F1 but has cars that i could own.

schumaker is a nobody, the only reason he won championships is because ferrari simply had the best car, this year we're seeing real fights and race in the F1, cars are becoming more alike and the skills of the drivers are being put to test... you can see in schumaker's face he's not really happy, thats because he wasn't really fighting for it like when Senna was alive, Senna was trully the best racer ever and it's looking like it's going to take a while for anyone to match what he had.

there have been alot drivers through the years who have had the best team and car, but none of them continued their sucess for as long schumacher. personally i wish schumacher would return so i could see how well he does with the new cars but he would be far off his prime.

Not a bad review for an american show, (no offense but you guys usually dont have a clue about F1), I think Kers is a failure and in its current state is of no use to car manufacturers for real world use. Williams design is perhaps the most suitable for road cars.

Alonso was also running low fuel. He will have to pit on lap 8. The BBC has the fuel adjusted grid on its website. I think Alonso is 6th based on his fuel load.

GM, yes Ford, No Maybe you haven't noticed but the auto industry is hurting world wide, or is just the backslide of the US builders all you care about? Perhaps it's just time for someone else to lead the way. GM has dug their own grave. I personally am Happy that Ford will evolve into the #1 US builder. My comment was directed to sapporo84. The margin of difference has narrowed in the last few years. American cars were never meant to be a lifetime purchase. We wanted people to get new ones every couple of years. The quality reflected this goal and in 1975 the fuel crises pulled the rug from under us and we have struggled since. Buyers are and not willing to spend the big money for quality so like all of us they are hanging on to their older cars. Like my 2 year old RS-4. Canada rocks..

The biggest diferrence that is making brawn's team win, are the diffusers, , brawn's toys have a 15% greater aerodynamic performance than the other cars. That is why winning is becoming easy for brawn gp. Now that is declared that these diffusers are legal, all the teams are working on it; but as Domenicalli says: "it will take time". Ferrari expects that this problem is solved by the race in spain, that is on 2 races, so until that, we will see brawn gp winning.

apart from talent alone you need to have a very perfect path laid in front you, which means 1)born in a racing family, 2)fully loaded with cash. If you don't have either of those factors. You will have you build your own fortune do as much race as you can and hope someone spots your talent before turning 40, otherwise leave this dream to your son/daughter. When schumacher drove for ferrari, he paid a 6 figure price to ferrari to join in the team.

If this guy knew what he was talking about then he would know kimi quit drinking a while ago. EVERYTHING was done by honda, NOTHING was done by brawn. Button and Barichello are average drivers (in terms of F1). It's Ferrari's fault they have no points kimis car broke in both races and massa's broke in the first race. Thats a 75% dnf rate for the team so far. And IMO the best 3 drivers are Kimi, Alonso, and Hamilton, but none of them have a good car so far. And shumacher isnt doing anything

honda basically started seriously deving their 09 car after the first couple of races in 08. because the 08 car was a dog.. and because 09 has the most drastic aero regulation changes in recent f1 history.. this was obviously a huge advantage for them.. where was mclaren and ferrari were fighting till the end for the 08 championship.. therefore investing all their resources to make the 08 car better, and not focus on 09.. hence rbr, toyota, brawn/honda etc are at the top

The F1 series is at its best right now. We are seeing more cars with a chance of racing other than Ferrari and McLaren. This is giving more teams the chance to succeed. The only thing that F1 needs to focus on now is the fans. They need to stop making it so private and takes notes from NASCAR.

I love Formula 1. I agree with you guys abouts the kers system. They are not fully developed to what the teams wanted them to be at, and I think thats hurting them. If they did not have it in the car they would not be thinking about it, they would just be racing. They should keep testing the system and in a few years install it.

It's just as simple as Ferrari and McLaren didn't come with a competitive car. You have to keep in mind.. Braun isn't new to Formula 1. Every year Michael Schumacher won a world championship, Braun was behind the scenes on his team. Braun knows his stuff and will remain competitive. Michael is serving his last year now with Ferrari and I believe that next year he'll be with Braun again. That duo has proven many times to be bad news for the competition.

I think F1 is great. Ferrari has been down before, but they always come back, and if they come back THIS season, it could really shake things up mid-season. Until then, it's great to see Jenson beating Ruebens.
Also, Ferrari still has Schuey. Yes, he's not in the car, but he's taking the advising role that Kimi just can't do, and yet they're still suffering. It can't be as simple as the diffuser OR the kers system, so who knows what will happn. I LOVE F1 though, and it's exciting so far.

Americans like NASCAR because: 1) the cars are so simple that it doesn't hurt the Americans brain thinking about how sophisticated the technology to make the car is, 2) adding right turns to a track makes the track too complicated, 3) and the 63% of Americans that are overweight and out of shape can still drive a NASCAR. adcbty1235 said it best, "F1 is the pinnacle of auto racing."

The GENERAL American public doesnt like F1 because it wasnt created in the US, also the fact that there is almost no American presence and the lack of a GP in the states also hinders its success. It has nothing to do with the fact that its too "sophisticated" for Americans.
