  • @elizabethsmith81 check the caption under the video...should have all the ribbon widths and lengths needed... :)

  • @elizabethsmith81 for the X you have to make sure that you pull the ends in the X shape not with the ribbon above or below it...hope that makes sense

  • @JessaBailey Hey jessa, lisa aka polkadotsparty. I am wondering how to make the moonstitch bow that you make, i think it was you......i love it and have worked with the ribbon all this morning trying to figure it out! I believe it was a green with pink moonstitch ribbon. I have saved it in my pictures and have tried and tried, but cannot figure it out! Would you be willing to share your directions how to make that one? I love it....thanks, lisa

  • @bowsosweet Hey Lisa! I am not sure which bow you are talking about. I don't remember posting any of my moonstitch bows but when I make them I use this same technique but its harder ribbon to manipulate.

    ~Jessa

  • I've been making bows lately & had a question about how long of ribbon do you use?

  • In each video I say what I use on each. With 7/8" ribbon I try to use anywhere from a 17-21" piece; with 1.5" ribbons I use 30-36" depending on the size I want. Have fun!

    ~Jessa

  • How do you heat treat the ends of your ribbons? Great videos! Thanks!

  • You are very welcome! I use a cigarette lighter to heat seal. I believe in the pinwheel video I show how to do this technique.

    ~Jessa

  • love this its so easy!!:)

  • thanks! I hope you have fun!

    ~Jessa

  • YAY!! Way to goooo...now have fun!

    ~Jessa

  • Hi jessa, I have a question on this bow do I suppose to get the two tail on the bottom or one in the bottom and one on the top? Because I always get the 2 tail in the bottom and for some reason it does not seen right.

  • You should be getting on tail up and one tail down...if you view the video again when the time gets to 1:00 you can see where I pulled one tail up and one down. Good news is that 2 tails down is called a tails down bow!

  • I have been looking for more helpful instructions for making boutique bows, thank you so much.....you're video was VERY helpful!

  • You are very welcome I am glad that you enjoyed it and happy bow making! Thanks!

  • how many inches of ribbon did you use?

  • 23" long of 7/8" wide grosgrain ribbon. On the video I explain the type and length of ribbon that I used, just in case you forget. Have a great day and have fun!

    ~Jessa

    Thank you Jessa Bailey!!

    YOUR THE BEST!!!!

    ~Jessa

  • These are great instructions. Over a year ago I bought instructions and have had such a hard time!!! But watching your video your way is much easier than what I was doing!! :)

  • THANKS TO ALL OF YOU WONDERFUL LADIES THAT HAVE COMMENTED ON MY VIDEOS I REALLY APPRECIATE IT!

    ~Jessa

  • okay this may sound stupid but...how do you heat seal it i get confused when it comes to that!

  • This is when I took the lighter and barely grazed it along the edge of the ribbon, you can also you a wood burner thats what others do, I personally do not have one so I have not tried this way, also you can by Fray Check but its very messy.

    Good Luck!

    ~Jessa

  • Your vids are AWESOME! I've been searching for a simple and fool-proof way to make these for weeks! u have taken out all of the guesswork! THANK YOU!

  • ur instructions are the easiest to follow on youtube! thanks

  • GREAT video!! I have watched a lot of hair bow videos!!!! Yours are the BEST!!!!

  • Great Video! I understand this but was hoping to learn the twisted bow or is this it? I can't seem to find it anywhere without paying.

  • I make mine twisted the same way you just twist you loops more...

  • Easiest one I have found! Thanks!

  • You are very welcome! Have fun...~Jessa

  • awsome help!!! GOD BLESS YOU. I WAS WONDERING IF U COULD GIVE ME IDEAS ON DOING THE ONES THEY SELL ON E-BAY( GYMBOREE ONES THAT ARE KINDA STAKED)

  • If you search on You Tube for ... How To Make Stacked Hair Bows, I think Hair Hardware may have a video for stacked ones.

  • OK, so where is the other end of the ribbon suppose to be? Inside middle, inside ... the other end of the ribbon has to go some place, Where? If someone figures this out, please explain it.

    Thanks

  • its on the opposite side, bottom end. when shes wrapping the thred around if you look close you can see the other end.

  • THANK YOU

  • I would buy a dvd of Jessa's bow instruction...her directions are the most simple to follow, of all I have seen so far. Hmm, she makes it look so easy, lol, but for me, it will take practice!

So here is hope for a DVD, that would help!

  • Just what I have been looking for - even those like myself who are boutique bow challenged can follow this through. Thanks for posting this vid!!

  • LOL you are very welcome, I am very happy to see that I am helping soo many! ~Jessa

  • aaaaahh thanks for making this video. ive been trying to master this kind of bow for a while now and have tried quite a few methods, this looks the easiest!!! :-)

  • Your video is so helpful!!!!!

    Thanks for the upload^^

    kiss kiss

  • your videos really help me out alot! thanks so much =) im a mommy of 2 and just started making bows as a hobby =)

  • How do you "heat seal" the ends?

  • I use a cigarette lighter, you just run the edge of the ribbon through the flame, quickly but try to keep it even. I show in the video how I do this. ~Jessa

  • Thank you! You know I'll be eagerly awaiting your next video. :) Good luck with all you have going on and God Bless you too! :)

  • Ok, so maybe it's because of my old age (32) lol, but I can't seem to get the first part down where you wrap the ribbon around your fingers and strech it...maybe if you get time you could post of vid doing that part a bit slower for us craft challenged girls out there? :)

  • Yes mam I can do that!! Give me a few though I have a lot going on, but as soon as I get time I will try and get that done for you!! God Bless!~Jessa

  • Thanks! I couldn't afford the store ones. Where do I get cheap grosgrain ribbon & clips?

  • thanks to much! i made one :D I'm so proud of it, unfortunatly we had some problems sinching so we glued a ribbon over it. :) it's really cute anyways

  • You very welcome, thats ok I covered mine with the ribbon to just makes it look neater!! Good Luck...Jessa

  • Thanks for adding this video, I'm def. going to try it. I can't seem to understand the number 8 instructions. Thanks for sharing.

  • anytime, you are very welcome...

  • Thanks a lot for sharing!

  • No problem glad I could help!

    ~Jessa

  • I love this method much better than the figure 8 method, but when I do your method the back of the bow looks all twisted before I secure it. Are yours the same way?

  • Yes sometimes they do! But I just keep playing with it until I get it the way I would like for it to look...hth~good luck.

    ~Jessa
